Work is being carried out to check the pipes of La Viñuela in the Axarquía and to clear sediment:

Ocu Málaga asks the municipalities to set limits to tourist homes, opens the door to rent controls in communities over the limits: {Translation, summary}

– The latest storm to hit Malaga province last weekend, Martinho, has left a significant white blanket on the highest peaks of the Axarquía and the Sierra de las Nieves mountains. The fourth high-impact atmospheric depression to reach the province so far in March has caused temperatures to plummet and left abundant snow on peaks over 1,400 metres above sea level.

Users report a telephony and internet cut in areas of Rincón de la Victoria and Malaga Capital for several hours: {Translation}

The Drums Of War Get Louder- Brussels is asking us to prepare emergency kits in case of war or disaster, say citizens need a “change of mentality”: {Translation}
– The European Commission is urging EU citizens to prepare for the unthinkable. Through the Union’s new Preparedness Strategy, Brussels recommends that all European households should have an emergency kit that allows them to survive for at least 72 hours without outside help. The goal: to face possible scenarios such as wars, cyber-attacks, pandemics or natural disasters resulting from climate change.
– “We must prepare for large-scale cross-sectoral incidents and crises, including the possibility of armed aggression, affecting one or more member states,” states the draft document, to which El País has had access. The text emphasizes that this initial period is “the most critical” in an extreme situation.
– The European Commission plans to officially launch the strategy this Wednesday, accompanied by a package of 30 key actions. These include joint maneuvers, training programs for young people and adults, a digital platform with shelter and risk information, and the creation of European strategic stocks of medicines, food, energy and raw materials.
– The geopolitical context is alarming. Brussels warns of “deteriorating security prospects for Europe,” amid accelerated rearmament in the face of the Russian threat, loss of confidence in the U.S. military umbrella and an increase in extreme weather events. “Europe’s preparedness and resilience in the face of armed violence could be tested in the future,” the text warns.

– Three cheeses from Malaga have slipped into the top 100 in Spain and opt to be crowned as the best that is made throughout the country in the 15th GourmetQuesos, Championship of the Best Cheeses of Spain 2025.
– Two of the products are made in Antequera and another in Coín and have been selected from nearly 900 candidates from all over Spain. The winners will be announced on April 7 during a gala to be held in Madrid. The awards have 20 categories and five finalists in each of them.
– In the category of young goat with pasteurized milk, the Zurrón blanco de cabra, produced by Cabraline in Antequera, has made it to the final.
– In the category of cured goat with pasteurized milk, Flor del Torcal {pic}, from Campyserr, also in Antequera, has been named.
– And in the category of cured mixture La Hortelana with rosemary cured mixture produced by Caprina del Guadalhorce de Coin is selected.
– The three have been chosen initially among the 895 that had been presented to the 20 categories in competition. The samples have been tasted by 64 professional judges who have assessed each and every one of the characteristics of the cheeses. Andalusia intensifies measures against measles after 30 cases in Malaga: {Translation, summary}

With WhatsApp’s new blue circle icon users can now message Meta’s AI chatbot, the latest AI privacy threat:
– Mark Zuckerberg has boldly claimed that Meta’s AI assistant is on track to become the world’s leading artificial intelligence, after attracting nearly 500 million users. However, some WhatsApp members say the reality doesn’t match the hype.
– Since the chatbot’s rollout across Meta’s platforms (Instagram, Facebook Messenger, and WhatsApp) in the US, and more recently in the UK, users have been scrambling to disable the AI. Others are worried about their data being hoovered up, given Meta’s contentious history of tracking user activity to create targeted adverts (and its privacy failings), while some have encountered app-crashing bugs.

***What is Meta AI?***
– Meta AI is rolling out to WhatsApp users in the UK (Meta)
In short, Meta AI is a digital assistant that can be summoned on Facebook Messenger, Instagram and WhatsApp to answer a range of questions — or just for a chinwag. You can ask it to find upcoming fixtures in cricket’s Indian Premier League, for instance; get help planning a holiday; or saddle it with writing your work emails. These chatbots, known as large language models, have absorbed vast amounts of text and data, enabling them to generate natural conversations on various topics. Others include ChatGPT, Google Gemini, and China’s DeepSeek.
– And because it’s a multi-modal AI, you can also speak to it and get it to whip up images and videos. Meanwhile, you can call upon it in group chats on WhatsApp and Messenger
– While not all of these perks are available outside of the US yet, mainly due to regulatory pushback in the UK and EU, Meta has promised to bring the AI up to parity across the globe.
***How have users reacted to Meta AI on WhatsApp?***
– Whether users actually want the AI is up for debate. Annoyed users have been venting about the chatbot’s arrival since its launch in 2023. Complaints have been surging on social media after its expansion into the EU and beyond.
– The biggest gripe? There’s no way to switch it off or remove it.
“Whatsapp added meta ai to the app and i can’t even remove it, i hate ai, i hate meta, i need to get a flip phone can they all leave us alone WHO asked for this,” wrote an exasperated user on X, formerly Twitter.
“Anyone any success in deleting irritating Meta AI icon in WhatsApp on an iPhone? Suddenly appeared and despite YT videos I can’t remove it,” said another incensed user.
“How can i disable the Meta AI feature & Remove the Meta AI Button from the Home Screen , its annoying,” asked a user.
“Why is there no way to deactivate it? Why do I have to send WhatsApp search queries to Meta AI and its partners?,” said another.
– In the latest twist to the sorry saga, some WhatsApp users in Italy claim the AI update is crashing the app.
***Can Meta AI access your messages?***
– No, Meta AI cannot access your private messages, such as those on WhatsApp or Messenger, to train its AI models. While Meta uses publicly shared content from Facebook and Instagram to improve its AI (from your profile pic to comments left on public groups), private posts (including messages with friends and family) are excluded. {This is a lie. Your data is scanned by them, then shared with their business partners, who share it with their data-service providers. EU Child Protection Data Laws require social media & messenger services to scan all messages searching for illegal content, what else they collect at that time, where they store that data and who they share it with is up for debate. But clearly they already have access to your message content the instant you send it. -Ed.}
– However, Meta uses your interactions with AI features — such as searching for stickers or chatting with AI characters — to improve its products. For example, if you mention your love for Italian food in an AI chat, that detail can be saved to improve future recommendations.
– The company says it will only use the data from users aged 18 and over. {In effect admitting they correlate your profile info with your message content- which they then bundle with other info to share with their business partners, who share it with their data-service providers. Yet they lie and say your data is secure. Now they want to add more info about you, that MetaAI collects from you, adding it to all the other stuff they have on you. More data = less privacy = more dollars! -Ed.}
***How to delete your Meta AI chat history***
– If that doesn’t sit well with you, you can delete or reset your AI chats. For individual chats, type /reset-ai to delete the AI’s memory of that conversation.
– To clear all chats on an app (Messenger, Instagram, or WhatsApp), type /reset-all-ais.
– On WhatsApp, if you delete a chat, it will be removed from only your app. However, you’ll need to use the reset command to delete it from Meta’s systems.
– Additionally, you can download your chat history by typing /download-all-ai-info in an AI chat.
– Remember that if you delete a chat or your WhatsApp account, you won’t be able to request or download that information again.

– Although Meta doesn’t provide a one-click option to turn off its AI features, users can take control of how their data is used in the following ways:
– Opt-out from AI training: UK users can complete an objection form in their app settings to request that Meta stops using their posts on Facebook and Instagram to train AI.

– The new blue circle appearing on your widely-used apps is a ChatGPT version of Meta, known as Meta AI, to help users do tasks fast and save their time. But not everyone is a fan of AI and wants this new feature to be on their screens while scrolling on Facebook, Instagram, or chatting on WhatsApp. So how can one get rid of it?
– Can one get rid of it? Frankly speaking, there is not a way to escape from it permanently. Meta, just like Google and Microsoft, feels compelled to rise in the artificial-intelligence industry, so it has included AI in all its services. However, it appears to be an unnecessary option, not required by all.
– A loophole can help. One cannot get rid of it permanently, but making it invisible is an option we still have. Here are the steps you can take to make the AI icon invisible on Facebook, Instagram, and WhatsApp.

• First, go to your WhatsApp and open the chat with Meta AI
• Tap on the profile name written at the top in the chat i.e. Meta AI.
• Tap on the notification tab and tap notification option.
• In next window choose Always from the options and click OK.
– Instagram, Facebook, and WhatsApp are the apps used by most of the world’s population daily. No Matter how long you have been using these apps, you might have noticed a new character popping up on your screen, answering unnecessary questions you might not want to ask and continuously offering information that is not your concern in your news feed. This new character, Meta AI, varies with every person’s usage. If you want to turn off this feature and are not a fan of AI, read this article till the end.
– Mark Zuckerberg is proud of this feature and thinks it is the most intelligent AI assistant social media users can use freely. This might seem very interesting to hear, but some social media users find it a very intrusive and forced feature.
– Is it Possible to Turn off Meta AI? It might initially disappoint you, but there is no proper way to turn off Meta AI. Whenever you use Instagram, Facebook, or WhatsApp, you cannot restrict or disable the chat from appearing at the top right corner of your screen. Also, ignoring this feature is not a solution either. You will be provided with AI suggestions.
– Surprisingly, the meta AI has the potential to pop up in your feed randomly. That’s not all; the messenger app from Facebook has an entire tab that works for Meta AI. This makes the users feel it is a forced feature that has been added without their consent.
– How Can You Mute Meta AI Chats? First, it is advised to avoid chatting with Meta AI. But if your intention was to search for something and you accidentally got into a chat, you will start getting notifications from the chat as if someone is talking to you even if you don’t want to. You may find these notifications bothersome and wish to disable them right away. You cannot disable them. However, you can mute them from Instagram, WhatsApp, and Facebook. This process will not remove the chat bot altogether, but you will stop getting the notifications. If you want to learn the process, then here’s how you can do that.

• Click on the Meta AI symbol on your chat page
• Now, the chat window will open; look for the info icon in this window
• In next tab, select the mute option and then select ‘Until I change it’ and then tap OK.
