Your questions answered by Ruth from Compare Funerals Spain
– Why should I have a funeral plan? Having been funeral planning for over 10 year I’ve experienced some very sad and upset families when nothing is in place. A Spanish funeral plans will ensure that all costs are covered for your funeral service. Getting a prepaid plan will help you feel assured that your family will not be under any financial strain when it comes to paying for your funeral. A plan also means you can have peace of mind that everything has been organised in advance, so your loved ones do not have to make any difficult decisions.
– Why choose Compare Funerals? There seems to be a gap in Spain between independent funeral directors, offering plans at a good price but lacking the security of an established Trust or ability to cover a client overseas and Providers who seem to charge more than necessary. We want to be right in the middle and offer the best of both worlds. Our best-priced plan is only 2,250€ and does the essentials.
– Can I do a payment plan? All our plans are payable in full or over up to 5 years interest FREE. The interest free periods are based on initial deposit. The higher the deposit the less your monthly repayments will be.
– Can I transfer the plan? The answer is YES. You could name 2 people on one plan however if you had a friend/family member pass away we can transfer the plan into a 3rd party’s name.
– What happens if I move? All our plans offer the equivalent service in Spain (including the islands), Portugal, Republic of Ireland and the UK. If you moved to the UK, we would transfer the plan to one of our many partners at no extra cost to you.
– Is paperwork included? Yes, your family will receive a death certificate in Spanish and an international certification in English. We also provide a cremation certificate that allows the ashes on board a plane.

Another Big Brother Diktat hiding behind the veil of convenience- The new digital ID will allow face to face accreditation at a hotel, rent a car or attend a concert, all businesses must adopt new system by 2026: {Translation}
– The launch of the new digital DNI via mobile phone will allow citizens, starting tomorrow, to perform everyday actions that require in-person identification, such as checking into a hotel, renting a car, attending a concert, or collecting a parcel from the Post Office. Additionally, within a year, online use as an ID will also be possible. {Agenda 2030 population control plans suggest you may not be able to leave your “15 minute city” without this digital ID. -Ed.}
– The project includes the MiDNI app, available on major digital platforms, which is the only official app with legal backing to verify identity equivalently to the physical DNI. To achieve this, a QR code signed and stamped by the National Police will be generated, ensuring the authenticity of the data displayed in real-time and certifying that they are up-to-date and valid at the time of verification.
*PHASE ONE, IN-PERSON VERIFICATION*
– In the first phase, the DNI will only allow in-person identification with the same validity as the physical DNI. It will serve to verify identity at access control for any public or private space that requires it. It will also be used to establish any legal relationship, sign deeds before a notary, verify identity in in-person administrative procedures before the administration, and carry out in-person administrative procedures with both public and private entities.
– The mobile DNI will be valid for proving age to open a bank account or conduct in-person commercial transactions that require a valid DNI, as well as to exercise the right to vote, according to Interior Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska, who reported on the Royal Decree approved this Tuesday in the Council of Ministers.
– As detailed by Marlaska in a press conference from the Palacio de la Moncloa, a twelve-month deadline has been set for public and private entities to adopt the necessary measures to adapt to the new system, as they will be required to accept the new digital format as a form of identification.
– That is, in this first phase, the mobile DNI will not serve to verify identity over the internet, nor an electronic travel document for crossing borders, nor verify identity in other countries, or perform telematic authentication and/or electronic signature transactions. {Although this will likely become a requirement for any travel outside your local community when the globalists force it down our throats in coming years. Combine this with vaccine passports, digital money, and with the end of cash, their control grid will be near completion. -Ed.}
– The Interior Ministry’s forecast is that by 2026, the digital DNI will be fully enabled as an identity verification document for telematic transactions, electronic signature operations, and other actions over the internet, i.e., “full functionality.” “I don’t think it’s an exaggeration to say that, with its launch, part of the future is already here; Spain joins the select group of European countries that already have systems allowing identity verification via mobile phone,” Marlaska commented.
– As he added, the new digital DNI launched by the National Police in collaboration with the Royal Mint will allow any type of transaction, both in the public and private spheres, “through a virtual, easy, intuitive, secure, and most importantly, effective support.” Source, Spanish: https://www.europapress.es/nacional/noticia-nuevo-dni-digital-permitira-acreditacion-presencial-hotel-alquilar-coche-asistir-concierto-20250401140018.html

MALAGA CITY
The largest flea market in Malaga returns to the old drive-in with 60 stalls & bouncy castles, Sat, 5 April: {Translation}
– El City Market changes its location to the Málaga Forum venue this Saturday with plans and shopping for the whole family, a local writers’ club, and a gastronomic area.
– The rain cancelled the second edition of El City Market in Málaga. However, this Saturday, the sun will shine, and the largest and most diverse market in the city will return to offer a plan for the whole family: over 60 stalls, solidarity spaces, a local writers’ club, children’s area, gastronomy, workshops, a drive-in cinema, and live music… “Pets are also welcome,” the event organisers highlight, as they open their doors this Saturday with a change of location to Málaga Forum (the old Autocine, Guadalhorce industrial estate). The event will start at ten in the morning and will run non-stop until approximately seven in the evening, when the film ‘Padre no hay más que uno, 3’ will be screened. Advance entry costs one euro, and on the day of the market, it can be purchased for three euros; entry is free for children under 12 and pets.
– Among the more than sixty stalls at the market, there will be various specialties such as handicrafts, vintage clothing, visual arts, books, and plants. As a novelty in this second edition, the gastronomic area will be expanded to avoid queues with Camperos and Friends, Zamppa Street Food, Food Nando, Sabor a Málaga, El Bizcochito Pastelero, Dulce Virguería, among others; specialty workshops for adults and children will also be held on cupcakes, shells, training, or ecosystem care, among others. At the Málaga Writers’ Club, local artists will present their work to the public, sign, and sell their pieces. Additionally, there will be a solidarity space where local associations will raise funds; the Málaga Animal Shelter, Suspiros de Cuatro Patas, Gatos Aman, or La Manada de Lola will be present.
– One of the major advantages of El City Market is the children’s area, with inflatable castles and playful activities. Throughout the day, a DJ will provide music for the event, but from 2:00 to 4:00 PM, Baron Dandy will be the star performance of the second edition. COSTA DEL SOL
Bluefin tuna fishing starts this Thursday in the Strait of Gibraltar with a quota of 1,561 kilos per vessel, Fenapa calls it “crumbs”:
{Translation, summary}
– The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, and Food in Spain has set the quotas for bluefin tuna fishing in 2025 for artisanal fleets (small and medium scale boats) in the Strait of Gibraltar and smaller vessels in the Mediterranean. According to the Official State Gazette (BOE), the quota is set at 1,561 kilograms per vessel for the artisanal fleet in the Strait of Gibraltar, which can start fishing this Thursday, and 478.08 kilograms per boat for smaller vessels in the Mediterranean. The Andalusian Fishing Federation (Fenapa) has opposed this allocation, describing it as “crumbs.”
– The fishing season for these fleets has been adjusted to meet sector demands, allowing bluefin tuna catches for the Easter season. Both in the Strait of Gibraltar and the Mediterranean, boats can fish starting at midnight on April 4. For incidental catches, four bluefin tuna per vessel and tide are allowed for surface longlines in the North Atlantic, and one bluefin tuna per vessel and tide for vessels using surface longlines in the Northeast Atlantic and the Bay of Biscay. These incidental catches can occur from the day after the resolution’s publication in the BOE.
– The publication of these resolutions allows fishing for over 850 vessels, including 408 from the Mediterranean small-scale fleet, 40 artisanal vessels from the Strait of Gibraltar, and about 65 longliners. Additionally, around 380 coastal bonito boats can request the retention of incidental bluefin tuna catches if they occur.
***Criticism of Quotas***
– Fenapa has criticized the allocation of bluefin tuna quotas for artisanal fleets in the Strait of Gibraltar, calling them “migajas” (crumbs). José Manuel Dávila, a shipowner from Barbate (Cádiz) and representative of Fenapa, argues that the species is “recovered” and notes that about 80% of the quota for the area is distributed among three large companies. Dávila believes that these companies have historically dominated the catch and now control most of the allocation, which he feels is unfair given the current needs of the artisanal fleet. He emphasizes that the problem is not just about increasing quotas but about how they are distributed. The artisanal fleet also faces challenges from invasive algae in the area and has repeatedly requested increased quotas for bluefin tuna, which they believe is harming local resources. Missing person alert, plus two injured hikers rescued after getting lost on a mountain in Nerja: {Translation}
– Two hikers were rescued on Tuesday by emergency services after getting lost in a mountain in the Sierra de Nerja, Málaga, and spending the night in the open. According to the Andalusian Regional Government’s Emergency Service 112, just before 8:00 AM, the 112 hotline received a distress call from a woman indicating that she and her husband had become lost on a mountain in Nerja, which they had climbed following the course of a river. The caller also informed them that they had spent the entire night in the mountains because her husband had suffered a fall and was unable to walk.
– From the coordination room, the Guardia Civil was immediately alerted, which in turn activated the Mountain Rescue and Intervention Team (EREIM), the 061 Emergency Medical Centre, the Local Police, and Nerja’s Civil Protection.
– EREIM deployed a helicopter to the area and, after locating the hikers, a couple aged 74 and 75, evacuated them to a meeting point where an ambulance attended to them as they were found bleeding and in poor condition. The 75-year-old man was taken to the Axarquía hospital, while the woman did not require hospital evacuation.
– Missing Person in Nerja. The Association for Support and Dissemination of Missing Persons Cases (SOS Desaparecidos) has issued an alert to locate Miguel Ramírez Fortes, a 66-year-old man who was last seen on Saturday, March 29, in Nerja. UPDATE, Tuesday, 14:08
The family of the missing man in Nerja, “We are desperate, we don’t know where to look anymore”: {Translation}
– The family and friends of Nerja resident Miguel Ramírez Fortes, known as ‘Luis el Reloj’, are “desperate” three days after he went missing in the Maro district. “I have come from England where I live, and we have been searching for him all night around the town. It’s very strange, as if the earth swallowed him up; we don’t know where to look anymore,” his daughter, Gema, expressed to SUR on Tuesday.
– The Civil Guard is coordinating a large search operation for this 66-year-old man, a retired chef who worked for decades in various hospitality establishments in the easternmost coastal municipality of the province. According to his family, he suffers from senile dementia but does not require medication.
– His daughter explained to the newspaper that her father does not use a mobile phone and was with one of his brothers at a cortijo in Maro last Saturday. “My brother says he left him at the bus stop so he could return to Nerja, but the driver claims he didn’t get on,” she recounted. Other witnesses place him hours later at a hospitality establishment in the church square of Maro, and he was reportedly seen in a taxi heading to Nerja. They have also received alerts that he was spotted around the town the following day, on Sunday.
– “Searching blindly”. “We are desperate, we are searching blindly; we don’t know where to look anymore. He doesn’t usually stray from his routines, and he likes to go fishing at the beach,” his daughter insisted, making an appeal for public collaboration to locate him.
– The Armed Forces have deployed several patrols on Tuesday, both in the Nerja urban area, where the missing man resides, and in the Maro district, where his ex-wife lives and where he was last seen. The operation also involves the Local Police and Civil Protection of Nerja. The man is 66 years old, 1.7 meters tall, slender, with grey hair and green eyes, and is described as “a vulnerable person” according to information provided by SOS Desaparecidos on social media. Andalusian Health Service admits your private data is not safe with them, insists WhatsApp and doctors using private phones are the main security risks: {Translation, summary}
– SAS advise against staff use of WhatsApp to avoid possible data leaks.
– The Andalusian Health Service (SAS) issued an instruction on Monday, March 31, encouraging healthcare professionals not to use the WhatsApp mobile app for patient data due to the risks involved. These recommendations were made after a data leak was detected in Granada in July 2024, a cyberattack that exposed personal data of approximately 50,000 healthcare professionals working in the province.
– “Using 3rd party vendor applications for handling personal data involves communicating data to the service provider, and also leads to unauthorized third parties accesing the data,” the Board warns. Therefore, “different types of penal, disciplinary, and administrative liability for data protection may occur, which in some cases can happen even jointly.”
– Additionally, the SAS acknowledges that “a very significant number of professionals do not have a corporate mobile phone, which adds new risks for personal data that may be processed on their personal terminals using the WhatsApp application, as they are not subject to the controls and security measures provided by the organization.”
– Among other effects, the cyberattack in Granada caused the websites of the three main hospitals in the province, Virgen de las Nieves and San Cecilio, also known as the PTS in the capital, and Santa Ana in Motril, to become inactive. Anyone who accessed them easily found that they were “under maintenance.”
– The data that were exposed due to the cyberattack included, among others, ID numbers, phone numbers, corporate emails, and passwords of both healthcare professionals and other staff, including those working in the Granada-Metropolitan Health District and management offices located in the capital. {The doctors with exposed passwords then open the door to a whole new layer of data exposure, that of the patients. -Ed.}
– The Andalusian Health Service acknowledged the data breach, stating that they became aware of it when an attacker sent an email to the webmaster of the Hospital Universitario Clínico San Cecilio and other recipients, indicating that they had found a vulnerability on the webpage through which they could execute malicious code and take control of the database and would do so unless a ransom was paid.
