Andalusia will appeal to the Constitutional Court the state distribution of unaccompanied migrant minors: {Translation}
– After several days in which the Junta stated that it was studying it, finally the Andalusian Executive has taken the decision to appeal to the Constitutional Court (TC) the distribution of unaccompanied migrant minors that the central government plans to make among the autonomous communities. So it joins other regions of the PP, such as the Community of Madrid, which has already announced the same measure.
– The Governing Council has urged the Ministry of Social Inclusion, Youth, Families and Equality to initiate the necessary actions to bring the appeal to “defend the independence of Andalusia” and the “equal treatment” between regions.
– The Andalusian Executive considers that the state decree law created by the pact between Junts and the central Executive to reform Article 35 of the law on foreigners “invades competences” and that “not only goes against the Constitution, but also against the Statute of Autonomy” of Andalusia. In addition, the Andalusian executive’s spokeswoman has criticized that the central government “sends the minors, but forgets to send the funds” to assist them, lamenting the “imbalance” in a distribution that “will burst the system”. Yellow warning in Malaga for wind and waves this Thursday: {Translation, summary}

The diagnosis of Alzheimer’s through a blood test reaches hospitals: {Translation, summary}
– Alzheimer’s disease is already being successfully detected with a simple blood test. This test, which until a couple of years ago was in the research phase, is already a “clinical reality” in some centers: the phospho-tau217 biomarker allows detection, with an accuracy of over 90%, of the disease in both early stages (when the symptoms are small memory losses) and in more advanced stages (when there is already dementia). This test also represents a saving of between 60% and 81% compared to current tests, which are much more complicated (such as a lumbar puncture or a PET scan). Detection of biomarker levels in blood can be performed easily and can be carried out in any clinical laboratory. This can facilitate, according to Dr. Pablo Villoslada, head of the Neurology Department at Barcelona’s Hospital del Mar, “having a tool that facilitates careful and early diagnosis, guaranteeing equitable access to care and better treatment”.
– This new blood biomarker makes it possible to detect Alzheimer’s in patients with symptoms such as “small memory losses,” but also with “very large cognitive problems,” such as “dementia.” Another case is asymptomatic people (Alzheimer’s takes years to develop before showing symptoms), although, we do not recommend the use of biomarkers in asymptomatic people because more research is still needed,” acknowledges Dr. Suárez-Calvet.
– According to this physician, the finding also makes it possible to determine “which people should undergo other tests”, such as lumbar puncture or PET (positron emission tomography), and in which cases it is no longer necessary to perform further analyses.
