The Government pushes ahead with the decree for the transfer of migrant minors and the PP accuses it of yielding to “pro-independence blackmail”: {Translation}
– The Congress of Deputies has validated this Thursday, and definitively, the decree law promoted by the government to activate a mechanism for the relocation of unaccompanied migrant minors from the most saturated territories, which are currently the Canary Islands and Ceuta, into various communities that have no say in the assignments.
– It is an initiative that goes forward after a year and a half “long and tortuous”, in the words of the promoter of the rule, the Minister of Territorial Policy, Angel Victor Torres, and thanks to the votes in favor of Junts. Almost eight months ago Junts vetoed the processing of a virtually identical law {…in efforts to persuade Sanchez to provide Catalonia with more migrant controls than the other autonomous communities are allowed. Catalonia recently received their elevated controls, so Junts are now paying back the favor. -Ed.}.
– During the plenary debate, only the PP and Vox have spoken out against the initiative. The popular deputy, Ana Alós, has charged against a decree that she considers to be “a patch” that “is not going to give a solution for the Canary Islands” and that, in her opinion, is the result of a cession of the Government to the “blackmail of the independentistas”. Alós has referred to the agreement reached between the Moncloa and Junts to delegate migratory competences to Catalonia, a pact that has been key to achieving the support of Carles Puigdemont’s in the reform of the law on foreigners. “They have used the minors as a bargaining chip”, the spokeswoman of the Popular Party has complained, who has also charged against the ‘unfair and arbitrary’ criteria included in the initiative. Supreme Court upholds Judge Llarena’s decision not to grant amnesty for embezzlement to Puigdemont: {Translation, summary}
– The Supreme Court has endorsed the decision of the instructor of the case of the procés, Pablo Llarena, not to apply the amnesty to the crime of embezzlement for which the former Catalan president Carles Puigdemont {pic} and his former advisors Toni Comín and Lluís Puig are being prosecuted.
– The magistrates Vicente Magro, Eduardo de Porres and Susana Pola have dismissed the appeals filed by the defenses, supported by the Prosecutor’s Office and the State Attorney’s Office -all requesting the amnesty. The reasoning is that Llarena’s decision “does not contravene the will of the legislator” who approved the law. During the parliamentary process the text was modified establishing that the amnesty will not be applied to the crime of embezzlement when it has been acted with a “purpose of personal benefit of a patrimonial nature”, which obliges the Supreme Court to interpret this “exception”. MALAGA PROVINCE

This is the Aemet forecast for Easter Week in Malaga: {Translation}
– Easter is just around the corner, and its beginning will be marked by the passage of the Olivier squall in Andalusia. In Malaga rains are expected from this Thursday, and for the moment they extend until Holy Tuesday. Although the forecasts, for the moment, indicate that they will be in the form of showers, with greater probability in the interior and to a lesser extent on the coast of Malaga. Haze will occur on Viernes de Dolores (Friday of Dolores). Forecasts may change due to the instability characteristic of spring.
– At the moment the forecast of the heaviest rains are this Saturday of Passion, throughout the province. Precipitation is forecast for the next few days, until Holy Tuesday, although in the form of showers.
– For tomorrow, April 11, Friday of Sorrows, Riesco said that a day of haze is expected, the cloudiness will increase on this day and there is likelihood of rain, of a weak character, in the last hours of Friday in general throughout the province. The first half of Friday will be marked by the yellow warning in some areas of the province.
– The Saturday is the day in which the greater precipitations are expected in the Holy Week of Malaga, for the moment. Riesco has pointed out that in spring it is usual that the weather is unstable and that the forecasts change. For this Saturday overcast skies and widespread rainfall throughout the province are forecast, being more intense in the first half of the day. Saturday afternoon there will be clearings in the province although the precipitations could persist in some points of the territory of Malaga.
– On April 13, Palm Sunday, the entry into the peninsula, from south to north, of the Olivier squall, is forecast. Expect “the typical spring showers”, mostly in the inland area of the province of Malaga, although they could reach some parts of the coast, said Riesco. Expected highs are 25C degrees in Malaga city, and 20C in Antequera.
– After the passage of Olivier, a new squall enters the province. At the moment there is uncertainty about the forecast for Easter Monday, “being more likely in the interior than on the coast,” said Riesco.
– For Holy Tuesday there could be rains in the interior of the province. The director of the Aemet of Malaga has explained that it is expected the release of a trough in height, which could also leave rain in some areas of the coast. In principle, heavy rainfall is not expected, “will be showers”. On Tuesday temperatures will drop, in the capital will go from 25 on Sunday, to 21 maximum.
– Accurate forecasts from next Tuesday are not yet available.

Elderly home in Cerrado de Calderón closed due to serious hygiene problems: {Translation}
– The Junta de Andalucía has ordered the closure of the residence for the elderly La Coracha, in Cerrado de Calderón, due to a serious lack of hygiene. Regional government sources have reported that the action arose from an inspection of the Delegation, which detected a generalized situation of unhealthiness.
– The residence La Coracha is private and had no places agreed with the Board, which in the work of inspection that is entrusted ordered the closure of the center. The sources specified that, before closing the residence, a place was sought for the thirty or so elderly people who were in the residence. Once they were rehoused, the center was closed. VÉLEZ-MÁLAGA

Vélez-Málaga welcomes Big Brother cameras in the name of protecting the public, the first step towards the Agenda 2030 “15 minute cities”: {Translation, summary}
{Benjamin Franklin once said: “Those who would give up essential liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety.”}
– They have already begun the installation procedure of the first ten video surveillance cameras, which will provide “exhaustive control” of local security, traffic and pedestrian circulation. The objective has been synthesized by the mayor. “It is about watching for the good course of traffic, for the tranquility of the neighbors and observing possible robberies or acts vandalism.”
– There are ten camera locations in sensitive areas that we will increase throughout the year. At the technical level, the cameras are designed to read vehicle registration, identify the validity of insurance policies {so they are not simply collecting images, they are doing in depth analysis, in real time, of your activities!}, detect possible robberies or verify the concordance with the ITV inspection.
{Remember, with gov’t data breaches being so common, since the data is all saved on 3rd party data banks, all this surveillance may as well be considered public knowledge. They will use facial recognition to identify everyone who’s image is captured by these cameras. You will have no personal privacy in these surveillance zones. Records will be kept of every place you go, and saved forever. These records will be available to anyone willing to buy them, such as insurance providers and lawyers. Health premium went up? Perhaps you spent too much time in the pub. Wife wants a divorce? Her lawyer has indisputable gov’t videos of you with another wo-man. Car registration blocked? They have proof you have been driving with lapsed insurance. Received a mysterious subpoena to come to the courthouse for a deposition? Perhaps the police tracked your car near the scene of a crime. Welcome to The Brave New World. -Ed.} Source, Spanish: https://www.axarquiaplus.es/el-alcalde-jesus-lupianez-anuncia-la-instalacion-de-las-primeras-camaras-de-video-vigilancia-del-trafico-para-mejorar-la-seguridad-en-el-municipio/

EUROPE

EU rolls back on its tariff panic- “We are ready to make agreements”- postpones retaliatory steel tariffs for 90 days to “give opportunity to negotiate” with Trump: {Translation, summary}
– The European Union is suspending for a period of 90 days the entry into force of its first batch of retaliatory tariffs already imposed by the United States on European steel and aluminum to “give a chance to negotiate” with Washington, after U.S. President Donald Trump announced on Wednesday a partial truce with the postponement for the same period of indiscriminate 20% surcharges on all foreign imports.
– “We take note of President Trump’s announcement. We want to give negotiations a chance,” said European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen in a brief statement released on social networks. She has also made it clear that if the negotiations “are not satisfactory,” then that first batch of countermeasures “will be put in place.”
– The Community Trade spokesman, Olof Gill, explained at a press conference that this gesture will also give “space” to the Community services to “analyze” and calibrate the new situation in consultations with the Member States and with the industry before entering into negotiations with the United States. “We are ready to make agreements”, he reiterated. GASTRONOMIA

Where to eat in Benagalbón (Rincón de la Victoria): {Translation, summary}
– It may seem like a small village, but this is the origin of the municipality of Rincón de la Victoria. The Plaza de las Flores, the church of Nuestra Señora de la Candelaria or the ethnographic museum are some of the places of interest in the village. Despite being a village with a small population at present, it has become in recent years one of the gastronomic paradises of the Axarquia.
– The Chalaúra. There is no lack of some of the most typical dishes of the Axarquia and provincial cuisine, such as gazpachuelo, the dish of Los Montes, lomo en manteca (loin in lard), porra antequerana (soup) or different dishes made with Malaga suckling goat meat. In addition, they also have more creative dishes, such as a cheese board of the province, goat flamenquín or, for dessert, Algarrobo cake mousse. They also have an important selection of matured meats and provincial wines.

– House Las Flores. Located in the Plaza de las Flores, this is one of the best options for those looking for the most traditional cuisine of the area. Meatballs in almond sauce, sirloin medallions with muscatel sauce, the Montes dish, lomo en manteca, fried or lemon anchovies, pintarroja stew (fish) and cabbage stew are some of the classics more rooted to the land. In addition, they also prepare dishes with a touch of the house, such as mango casserole (in season of this fruit) or cheeks croquettes. Those who leave room for dessert will have a hard time choosing if they like the classics: fried milk, custard or rice pudding, among other options.

– Galbun. In the heart of the old town this establishment is especially committed to seasonal products. On a quality raw material is configured a repertoire full of exotic touches, with many influences of oriental cuisines. With this philosophy of market cuisine, it offers very varied dishes, such as its japobravas (Tempurized potatoes with Alioli de Wasabi and Salsa), its oxtail lasagna, its suckling pig ingot confit with mango chutney or its red tuna tiradito with truffled ponzu. Among its indispensables are the Galbun salad, the braised octopus with toasted noodles, Sandra’s croquettes or the Iberian secret with BBQ japanese sauce over mashed potatoes huancaínas.

– Tasca El Candela. On weekdays (between Tuesday and Thursday), there is a menu where there is no shortage of traditional dishes. As a starter, you can find a gazpachuelo, a “ensaladilla cateta” or a potato casserole. As a second course, from scrambled eggs to pork loin in sauce. And at the weekend, the à la carte menu continues with the usual dishes, such as Russian salad, cheeks croquettes or prawns in pilpil sauce to start, but also with many Iberian meats to choose from: secreto, sirloin, pluma or presa, among others. It is advisable not to get too full to leave room for dessert.

– The Three Brothers +1. Behind this original name, awaits one of the most traditional restaurants in Benagalbón. There you can find a mostly traditional cuisine. Among its specialties are meatballs in almond sauce (or tomato), pork cheeks, potatoes arrieras, lomo de orza, oxtail, fried anchovies (or lemon) and octopus leg. They are also known for their San Jacobo with cream, their migas (in season), their fried vegetables or their battered prawns.

PRODUCT ALERT

Cecotec Data Breach Announced- FACUA denounces Cecotec for taking two years to warn customers their data had been stolen: {Translation}
– FACUA-Consumers in Action has asked the Spanish Data Protection Agency (AEPD) for an urgent investigation into the massive leak of personal information affecting customers of Cecotec, a company specializing in home technology.
– The security breach, as reported by the company itself, took place in April 2023, although it has not been until now – almost two years later – when those affected have been informed through an email. The compromised platform has no longer been operational since 2020, but it still stored sensitive data of former users.
– Among the information exposed are names, surnames, ID numbers, telephone numbers and postal addresses. FACUA is particularly concerned about the nature of the stolen data, which could be used in personalized phishing scams, such as bank fraud. The data may also include not only customer provided information, but also data collected by user’s Cecotec devices {for example, home floor plans created by your vacu-bot}.
– Cecotec claims to have taken measures to reduce possible damages, including the closure of the affected platform, the creation of an Internal Security Committee, the implementation of anti-fraud tools and the official notification to the AEPD.
– FACUA stresses the seriousness of the case, not only because of the sensitivity of the leaked data, but also because of the delay in communicating it to the affected persons, which could have facilitated criminal activities without the victims’ knowledge. TECH

THEY ARE INTENTIONALLY RUINING THE INTERNET! Time to quit social media & messaging apps? AI-generated user accounts pretending to be real humans are flooding Instagram and Facebook, according to their parent company, Meta. Other platforms do the same:
{Editor’s note: While I still look at X/Twitter, I no longer interact with it after my X messenger was flooded with posts from AI accounts pretending to be real humans contacting me. These AI accounts often seek personal info that their creators will sell to data harvesting operations. Then the AI adds your data to its ever-growing data collections, for future use without your permission- all your interactions, chats, images, etc. You can usually identify such accounts: they tend to be newly created accounts, their messages tend to repeat what you have said and then ask you some nosey questions, and they often mis-apply slang words in their attempts to “sound like a person”. -Ed}
– Meta company is rolling out a wide array of AI products, including a tool that helps users create AI characters (fake accounts) on Instagram and Facebook. Meta hopes to attract a younger audience, in a face-off with key competitors like TikTok and Snapchat. “We expect these AIs to actually exist on our platforms in the same way that [human] accounts do,” Connor Hayes, vice president of product for generative AI at Meta, told London’s Financial Times. The new developments from Meta join an online tool called AI Studio, launched in July to allow users to make their own chatbots. You can clone yourself, or create an {autonomous} artificial persona online, using text-to-video software. Building an artificial presence has never been easier. {It will pretend to be a real person and perform online tasks unattended, including deceptive tasks including fake conversations, data fishing, joining groups, “friending”, posting “likes”, making fake recommendations, etc. Any trust you had in social media info has now been invalidated! How many of your “followers” are really AI bots? -Ed}

Encountering Blocked Websites? Blame La Liga Football:
– La Liga’s court-ordered authority to block Cloudflare IP addresses to disrupt pirate IPTV services continues to black out large numbers of entirely legal sites. {That’s right, the Spanish courts allow La Liga to block any website it wants, without needing approval, and without paying damages to those improperly blocked. This is nothing short of outrageous censorship ability, granted to a private company by the Sanchez regime! Makes you wonder how much money La Liga donates to the Sanchez campaign fund. -Ed}
– Interestingly, La Liga’s opinion differs quite drastically; maybe just a handful have been affected, but certainly not lots, despite the documentation to the contrary.
{La Liga has a long history of manipulating statistics, using absurd legal interpretations and using false & illegally collected data to support their claims. Remember, this is the same outfit that inserted hidden snooping functions into the La Liga app on customers mobiles to “listen” for and report pirate football streams in sportsbars. As originally reported by the Spanish-language newspaper El Diario, the app turns on users’ microphone when the phone’s GPS detects that they are in a bar. It then listens to see if they are watching an illegal stream of an Atlético Madrid match or a Barça game, and then reports violations to La Liga. Ref, English: https://www.fastcompany.com/40584079/this-spanish-soccer-app-just-admitted-to-spying-on-fans-to-track-illegal-streams -Ed.}
– Researchers identified over 3,000,000 sites last weekend blocked by La Liga {pic}. Regular updates posted to X by sysadmin @jaumepons aim to document overblocking in Spain. According to their research, the scale is enormous. Full article: https://torrentfreak.com/cdn77-isolates-laliga-iptv-pirates-in-15-mins-allegedly-blocked-anyway-250410/

ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE (AI)

AI can strategically lie- From innocent errors to lying, manipulation, and deception:
– Once hailed solely as innovative problem-solvers, advanced AI systems now reveal a more unsettling facet. Autonomous AI chatbots are learning to deceive, strategize, and manipulate human perceptions strategically. Beyond simple glitches or hallucinations, these models can actively mislead, exploit vulnerabilities, and even feign compliance.
– This article explores recent incidents, research findings, and expert opinions illuminating AI’s unsettling shift from a helpful tool to a potentially deceptive adversary. Full article:

FROM THE “WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY THINKING” DEPARTMENT

Sumar (far left communist) proposes to include “non-binary” in the DNI and to compensate for life those who suffer from genital modifications: {Translation}
– In the race to lead the left-wing space, Sumar, led by Yolanda Díaz {pic} are trying to reform the Trans law. They have registered a bill in the Congress of Deputies with the aim of “recognizing the rights of intersex and non-binary people”, seeking the inclusion of a ‘third gender’ in the National Identity Card.
– Sumar also proposes an economic compensation “for life, equivalent to the minimum pension of the Social Security for pensioners over 65 years old”, destined to those people who have suffered genital or hormonal modifications without their consent. {I checked it out since I found this last bit about “modifications without consent” strange. It turns out this typically happens when the child requests the surgery, the parents, councilors & doctors decide to do it, and then, after the child reaches 18, the “victim” claims they were too young to be responsible for the decision or were “tricked in to it”, and so demands life-long compensation. Cases of non-consensual genital or hormonal modifications, other than female genital mutilation (FGM), are virtually unheard of. -Ed.}
– In the text, Sumar establishes a definition for the legal recognition of non-binary and intersex persons. It introduces the concept of “non-binary” as “a person whose gender identity and/or gender expression is not circumscribed exclusively to the categories of male or female, nor to the limits of masculine or feminine gender. He or she may identify with both binary genders, identify with neither, or live a gender identity and/or expression that is fluid and variable over time.”
– Regarding intersex, Sumar proposes the following definition: “They are biological variations produced during fetal formation, of the primary sexual characters in people, which may vary, from human genotypes of type XX, XY, XXY, XXY, X0 or XXXY, among others; phenotype; gonads (ovaries, testes, ovotestes); external and/or internal genitality; endocrine structures and their transmitting and/or receiving activity; the intervention of the limbic system in sex and gender; and secondary and tertiary sexual characters.”
– Likewise, the legislative proposal includes the prohibition of genital modification in intersex persons under 12 years of age, unless medical indications require it, and establishes the concept of “foster sex”, defined as the “social identity with which the intersex minor or person with clinical judgment of diverse sexual development will be socialized until he/she voluntarily defines his/her real identity”. By virtue of these principles, Sumar suggests that, at the moment of registering a newborn, the mention of gender could be left blank.
– In this way, the parliamentary group led by the leader of Sumar, Verónica Barbero, seeks to promote a reform of the purple law (LGBTQ++ Rights Law). FINANCIAL

If you live with people over 65 you can deduct up to 11,000 euros on your income tax return 2024 – 2025:
{Translated Spanish article, this is not financial advice, presented for educational purposes only}
– The income tax return is adapted to the circumstances of each taxpayer and his or her environment. That is precisely why there is the personal and family minimum in the IRPF, an amount that is subtracted from the taxable base according to the personal situation and that can be applied in the 2024 campaign (which began in April and runs until next July 1).
– This minimum is the one that allows people who live with and take care of relatives over 65 years of age or with disabilities to pay less tax, as well as to deduct for their children in the income tax.
– A personal minimum of 5,550 euros applies to all taxpayers, which increases by 1,150 euros for those over 65 years of age and by an additional 1,400 euros for those over 75 years of age. However, in order to apply the remaining reductions for descendants and ascendants, a series of requirements must be met.
– The requirements to be able to deduct income tax for family members over 65 years of age are quite clear.
*The person effectively cohabits with the contributor, although it can also be applied if he/she spends time in a specialized center, but it depends on you. Cohabitation is defined as spending more than 183 days a year with you.
*The income of the person over 65 years of age cannot exceed 8,000 euros, excluding exempt income such as certain disability pensions.
If these requirements are met, the personal and family minimum may be subtracted from the IRPF for the care of family members.
– This minimum for ascendants is divided between the general amount that applies throughout the state and an autonomous amount, which varies according to each region.
In addition, there are aggravating factors or situations that may cause the amount to be higher, such as having some type of disability.
– The family and personal minimum that is applied on the state part of the IRPF is the following. Remember that this is applied on 50% of the income, the remaining 50% depends on each autonomous community, as we will see below.
– These are the general amounts. Afterwards, each community can establish its own scale, which is the following according to the tax return booklet for over 65 years of age of the Tax Agency.
– To this personal and family minimum should be added the deduction for dependent ascendant with disability, which is 1,200 euros and the deduction for spouse not legally separated with disability in charge, which is also 1,200 euros.
– In Andalusia:
***Minimum taxpayer:
General: 5,790 euros per year.
Over 65 years of age: 1,200 euros more (total of 6,940 euros).
Over 75 years of age: 1,460 euros more (total of 7,400 euros).
***Minimum for ascendants:
Over 65 years of age: 1,200 euros.
Over 75 years of age: 1,460 euros plus (total of 2,660 euros).
***Minimum for disability:
Equal to or greater than 33%: €3,130.
Equal or higher than 33% and who accredits needing help from third parties or with reduced mobility: 3,130 euros.
Equal or higher than 65%: 9,390 euros.
– In addition, Andalusia adds a deduction of 100 euros for the father or mother of a single-parent family with ascendants over 75 years of age and another one of 20% of the money for domestic help for those over 75 years of age up to a maximum of 500 euros.
