SPAIN
Rainstorm in Spain– Seven communities on alert including Andalucia, the worst is expected in Catalonia and Valencia, which suspends classes: {Translation}
– The former hurricane Gabrielle, now transformed into an extratropical storm, will from this Sunday bring very heavy rainfall and large accumulations of water across several parts of the Peninsula, a situation expected to intensify on Monday and Tuesday, according to the State Meteorological Agency (Aemet). The agency reported that for this Sunday up to seven regions are on red, yellow or orange alert due to the heavy precipitation forecast: Catalonia, Aragon, Navarre, La Rioja, the Valencian Community, Castilla-La Mancha and Andalucia.
– Aemet has warned of a “potentially dangerous situation” and urged “caution” in light of predictions of more than 30–40 litres per square metre within an hour and over 80 litres in just three or four hours in areas of the eastern Peninsula. The situation may become “dangerous,” the meteorological authority cautioned on its social media channels. The worst is expected this Sunday in Tarragona and Castellón, where red warnings have been activated, with the same level of alert coming into effect from Monday in Valencia. Accumulations could surpass 250 litres per square metre by Tuesday.
– In response to the forecasts, Valencia City Council has decided to suspend classes this Monday in flood-prone areas and in the southern districts that were already affected by the DANA of 29 October last year. The council has also ordered the closure of parks and gardens, cemeteries, and suspended all outdoor sporting activities. Source, Spanish: https://www.20minutos.es/nacional/…

Alarm and concern in Europe over Pedro Sánchez’s baffling drift: {Translation, summary}
– European institutions and major capitals are increasingly alarmed by the decline of Pedro Sánchez’s credibility and Spain’s growing isolation. Once seen as a respected interlocutor, Sánchez is now relegated to the margins of crucial negotiations on Ukraine, sanctions, and defence, leaving Spain perceived as an unwanted guest. His government’s reputation has been further damaged by multiple corruption scandals involving senior Socialist figures, including the extraordinary trial of Attorney General Álvaro García Ortiz, accused of abusing his office to harm a political rival, {as well as Pedro’s family scandals– prosecutions of cases against both his wife, for embezzlement, and his brother, for accepting a job specially created for him, for which he was unable to explain to a judge what the responsibilities of that job were. Reports say he never even had an office until the investigation of his position began.}
– In response, Sánchez announced a National Plan to Combat Corruption, promising external audits, transparency on donations, stronger anti-corruption prosecution, protection for whistle-blowers, and even artificial intelligence to monitor public contracts. Yet European officials and media outlets see this as cosmetic, designed to patch over deep institutional weaknesses. Doubts about judicial independence are now entrenched, with some warning Spain could drift towards the path of Hungary or Slovenia. By warning that Spain could “drift towards” those paths, critics suggest that unless reforms truly guarantee separation of powers and judicial neutrality, Spain risks being grouped with states seen as backsliding democracies, undermining its credibility within the EU.
– Meanwhile, international relations have soured. The German Chancellor has yet to visit Madrid, Spain has been excluded from key discussions, and tensions with the United States have flared over a Huawei surveillance contract. Brussels has also pressed Sánchez over his overtures to China, which contradict EU positions on technology and security. The Times (UK) even published an editorial entitled “The Spaniards deserve something better”, reflecting the widespread feeling among much of the international press.
– Neighbouring capitals such as Paris, Berlin, and Rome fear a “contagion effect” of instability, while European media including The Times deride Spain’s secondary role. At NATO, Sánchez was the sole leader opposing increased defence spending, further isolating him. Diplomats now refer to Spain’s uncertain trajectory as “the Iberian mystery”. MALAGA PROVINCE
Beekeepers in Malaga– “In the Guadalhorce Valley, more than 50% of beehives have been destroyed by the Asian hornet.”: {Translation, summary}
– Beekeepers in Málaga warn of a crisis caused by the Asian hornet, with more than half the hives in the Guadalhorce Valley already destroyed. Antonio Vázquez of COAG Andalucía described the situation as “ruinous,” comparing it to wolves killing half a farmer’s herd. He fears that many beekeepers will abandon the trade, as hive losses make it impossible to prepare swarms or plan future campaigns.
– The hornet not only devastates bees but also wild pollinators and crops, including grapes and sugar-rich plants, causing severe economic damage. Reports of the pest are spreading quickly, with Pizarra and Alhaurín the hardest hit.
– Beekeepers accuse the Environment Department of failing to act despite years of appeals. The Andalusian Government responds that it intervenes under its legal remit, removing nests through TRAGSA in rural areas, while town councils and private owners hold responsibility elsewhere. The Junta de Andalucía uses TRAGSA’s specialised teams for the detection and safe removal of Asian hornet nests, particularly in rural and public spaces where public safety may be affected. It also stresses prevention, training, and equipment provision to combat the invasive species. MALAGA CITY
Comic-Con Becomes a Real Nightmare for Attendees: {Translation, summary}
– Comic Con Málaga 2025’s final day was marred by chaos and angry scenes as what appeared to be thousands of ticket holders were left outside despite claiming there was available space inside the venue (see pics). Attendees, some waiting more than ninety minutes under the sun with children, protested at the Palacio de Ferias y Congresos, demanding accountability from the organisers. Frustration grew as ticket-holders who had travelled from other provinces such as Cádiz said they could not enter, even though they could see from the entry queue the empty seats inside.
– Those denied entry voiced indignation, calling the situation a “disaster” and accusing organisers of poor planning. Even visitors who managed to access the convention endured enormous queues, both to enter, to participate in activities, and to buy food, with waits of up to an hour and a half. The presence of Arnold Schwarzenegger as the star guest intensified demand, but inadequate logistics left many fans feeling cheated and disheartened at the handling of the event. TORROX
Hydrological and forest restoration begins in Torrox in the river basin: {Translation, summary}
– Hydrological and forest restoration works have begun on the River Torrox, as announced by the mayor, Óscar Medina, and councillor Ana Pérez. The project, funded with Next Generation resources coordinated by the Ministry for Ecological Transition and managed by the Andalusian Government, has been prioritised due to environmental risks. It will remove invasive reed thickets and reintroduce native riparian trees to restore the lower river section, where reeds had displaced diverse natural vegetation.
– The intervention aims to prevent flooding, water quality decline, reservoir silting, damage to infrastructure, and loss of protection for communities and assets in low-lying areas. It will also safeguard landscapes, biodiversity, and fertile land against erosion, gullies, and ravines that hinder farming or construction. The Regional Government of Andalusia has earmarked about 750,000 euros for these works, within a shared budget covering restoration efforts in the Rivers Torrox {pic}, Vélez, and Chíllar in Nerja. ‘A Lomos de la Barraca’, a show in the streets of Torrox that will star a hundred people in tribute to Lorca: {Translation, summary}
– On October 25, starting at 7:00 p.m., more than a hundred residents and artists will bring to life the production “A lomos de la Barraca” (On the Back of the Barraca), a tribute to Federico García Lorca that will wind through the streets of the historic center of Torrox, starting at the Plaza de San Roque. The project, promoted by the “A Toda Cultura” platform, is the fourth performance of its kind and involves the Torrox Town Council, the Choir and Dance Group, the Peña Flamenca La Bodega, the Torrox Theater Association, the AC Vive la Música, and Raíces Flamenco L&L. UKRAINE WAR
Another massive wave of Russian drones and missiles hits civilians in Ukraine: {Translation, summary}
– Russia, on Saturday, 27 September, launched a massive weekend bombardment of civilian targets across Ukraine, timed as the NATO Military Committee met in Riga and the United Nations General Assembly concluded. Ukrainian firefighters and emergency services confronted widespread destruction after numerous flying bombs struck homes, shops and factories. Kyiv endured a twelve-hour assault from dawn, leaving at least four dead, including a 12-year-old girl, and ten injured, a toll confirmed by the head of the capital’s military defence. More than fifteen sites in the city were damaged, among them multi-storey residential blocks, the Kyiv Institute of Cardiology, a bakery, an automotive rubber factory, a nursery school and many small shops and homes.
– President Volodymyr Zelenskiy denounced the strikes as brutal, deliberate terror and said nearly five hundred attack drones and more than forty missiles, including Kinzhal missiles, were employed to saturate Ukraine’s air defences. The assault also struck urban areas of Chernihiv, Zaporizhzhia, Khmelnytskyi, Sumy, Mykolaiv and Odesa, dispersing missiles across the south, north and centre of the country. UK
New digital slavery ID scheme to be rolled out across UK by Starmer admin– unless you demand a stop to it NOW!:
– A new digital ID scheme will help combat illegal working while making it easier for the vast majority of people to use vital government services. Digital ID will be mandatory for Right to Work checks by the end of the Parliament. The scheme will be available to all UK citizens and legal residents, saving time by ending the need for complicated identity checks which often rely on copies of paper records.
– Instead, the roll-out will in time make it simpler to apply for services like driving licences, childcare and welfare, while streamlining access to tax records. The new digital ID will be held on people’s phones, just as millions already use the NHS App or contactless mobile payments.
– Building on the work already underway to roll out a GOV.UK digital wallet, the digital ID will sit on people’s phones, alongside the digital driving licence which the government has already announced plans to introduce. Full article: https://www.gov.uk/government/news/new-digital-id-scheme-to-be-rolled-out-across-uk
***More info***
– The leftist/globalist governments of the UK are scrambling to prevent a full blown rebellion in the face of rising populist anger. A digital “right to work” ID can just as easily be used as a weapon against native citizens; say the wrong thing or go to a protest and you might have your Brit Card revoked, making it nearly impossible to make a living.
– The ID will primarily exist as an app downloaded to personal cell phones (much like the QR app used by the Chinese CCP to track citizens during the pandemic). Combined with the multi-layer tracking abilities of cell phones, a digital ID presents a dangerous tool for tyranny.
– For now, the ID is only supposed to be used for employment and for social services, but the biometric tracking has endless possibilities for control. It could eventually be required for surfing the internet, buying food at the grocery store, using mass transportation, etc. With biometric data in hand, governments can track every movement a person makes, every purchase, every social media post, every personal interaction.
– Most people will also recognize the hypocrisy of Starmer introducing digital tracking, punishing the citizenry for a problem he and other leftist officials (some posing as conservatives) created. These political elites have no intention of stopping mass immigration; the digital ID is only useful in controlling native Brits who fight back. Source: https://www.zerohedge.com/political/uk-goes-orwellian-mandatory-digital-id-and-biometric-tracking
**********
Massive rejection of Starmer’s ‘Brit card’– more than one and a half million Britons sign against digital identification:
– A petition calling for the government to ditch plans for digital ID cards has received more than 1.5 million signatures.
– Sir Keir Starmer announced on Friday (September 27) he planned to introduce a new ID system by 2029 that would be mandatory for people working in the UK.
– The petition called on the Government to commit to not introducing digital ID cards, saying: “We think this would be a step towards mass surveillance and digital control, and that no one should be forced to register with a state-controlled ID system.”
– It received more than 6,800 signatures in an hour on Saturday morning as it reached more than 1,564,000 entries. Petitions on the UK Government which receive more than 100,00 signatures will be considered for a debate.
– Reform UK leader Nigel Farage criticised the planned scheme, calling it “an anti-British card”. Writing in the Daily Express, he said: “The Labour Government’s plan to impose digital ID cards on all adults will do nothing to combat illegal immigration. But it will give the state more power to control the British people.” Full article: https://www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/news/uk-news/petition-against-governments-digital-id-32562913

Tennis News- Carlos Alcaraz storms to 65th win of the year with quarterfinal victory over Nakashima in Tokyo:
– World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz {pic} has stormed into the semifinals of Tokyo, defeating American Brandon Nakashima in straight sets in the quarterfinals of the ATP 500 event on Sunday night, 6-2, 6-4.
– And it was a milestone win for Alcaraz—his 65th of the year.
No one else on the men’s tour is even at 50 wins yet for the season.
– Awaiting the No. 1-seeded Alcaraz in the semifinals in the Japanese capital will be No. 4-seeded Casper Ruud, who also cruised through his quarterfinal match, beating Australian qualifier Aleksandar Vukic, 6-3, 6-2. Alcaraz leads Ruud in their head-to-head, 4-1, with Ruud’s one win in their last meeting, a 6-1, 7-5 victory in the round-robin stage of the ATP Finals last year. Alcaraz leads 3-0 on outdoor hard courts, though. This will be the pair’s first meeting of this year. TECH
Microsoft Caves In To The Pressure- Offers Europeans Free Windows 10 Security Updates until Oct. 13, 2026, but only if you have an active MS account:
– Microsoft has confirmed that it is making access to Windows 10’s extended support updates (ESU) program completely free for an additional year, until October 14, 2026, for regions in the European Economic Area (EEA). This change means users will no longer be required to sync their PC settings to the cloud via a Microsoft account for free access to extended security updates throughout the next 12 months. But you will still need to enroll in the ESU with a Microsoft account.
– If you log-in to your computer with a “local account”, as me and many security conscious users do, to avoid having a Micrsoft account, then this free extension is not available for you. A Microsoft account is required for any of the extension methods, free or paid.
– In summary: For users in the EEA who log-in with a Microsoft account when using their computer, Microsoft is essentially extending Windows 10’s security updates by a year. It seems the user will still need to enroll into extended security updates, which will require the user to authenticate with a Microsoft account once every 60 days, but it will no longer require the user to sync their PC settings to the cloud or pay €30.
– If a device does not connect within that time to its Microsoft account, extended updates will stop.
– Microsoft has not said how it will deal with Win 10 users in the EEA who have already paid the €30 extension fee.
– Solution of last resort: Consider installing the third-party “0patch” app to deal with any security issues that aren’t addressed by Microsoft. The free 0patch personal plan includes patches for known 0-day vulnerabilities (bare minimum security), but if you want all Windows 10 patches (more security), or if the PC is used for business or enterprise tasks, you’ll need to pay for a 0patch Pro plan at a per-PC rate of €24.95 per year, or the equivalent in Euros. 0patch offers a seamless solution with five additional years of critical security patches until October 2030.
