 I can only produce DigameXtra with the financial support of my readers. Once a year, during the year end holidays, I do an 8 week fundraiser to help pay production expenses throughout the whole year. This year’s goal is to receive donations from 4% of subscribers. – Hope all is well with you and that the donations are flowing in, unfortunately, it can take a while extracting blood from stones !!
– I was again incensed to read about corruption within the Ukrainian government.
– Van de Lying, Micron, Sir Liar Starmer and the rest of “The Willing” idiots, have provided obscene amounts of financial and military aid to Ukraine in its defence against Russia, another 800 million from Sanchez again yesterday, and this without even a budget being agreed since 2023 !! 
– However, due to ongoing corruption issues within Ukraine, there is a growing need for transparency in how this aid is used. Without proper oversight, there is the risk that funds and weapons are being misappropriated, misused, or diverted, (remember the guns that turned up in the narco raids in Gibraltar last year, originally supplied to Ukraine by the US),diminishing their impact and fuelling further corruption.
– Corruption remains a significant issue in Ukraine, despite efforts at reform. The lack of clear accountability in the allocation of military aid raises concerns that arms are being sold on the black market or misused, undermining both the effectiveness of the support and international security.
– European governments are also losing public support because citizens are becoming unhappy that their taxes are being wasted or misused. Demanding greater transparency from Ukraine would help maintain public trust and ensure that aid is used effectively. Moreover, it could push Ukraine to strengthen its own democratic institutions and fight corruption more vigorously.
– In conclusion, European governments should consider refusing further aid to Ukraine until Zelensky is removed from office, and transparent systems are in place to ensure that military and financial support is being used properly. This would not only protect taxpayers’ money but also promote long-term stability in Ukraine and support its democratic development. S.B.

What appeals can the Attorney General file against the Supreme Court’s conviction?: {DigameXtra}
– The Supreme Court has banned Attorney General Álvaro García Ortiz [pic} from his post for two years for revealing secrets and hit him with a 7,200-euro fine plus 10,000 euros in compensation, but he still has options to challenge it.
– First, he can file with the court an “Incidente de Nulidad” (application for annulment), though these rarely succeed.
– Next, he can appeal to the Constitutional Court with an amparo appeal, which doesn’t automatically stop the sentence, so he would still need to pay the fines and serve the disqualification unless the courts allow a “precautionary measure” relieving him of these penalties.

VOX denounces the “low cost” asphalting of the N-340 as it passes through Vélez-Málaga: {Translation}
– The VOX Municipal Group in Vélez-Málaga stated on Thursday, beside the N-340 road, that the Government of Spain is carrying out what they call a botched job in the preparatory works before the transfer of the road to the Town Council. Its spokesperson, Javier Herreros, explained that both residents and regular users of the road are alarmed by the construction solution being applied, which he says is far from what the central government had promised.
– He said: what we were told was that the N-340 would be resurfaced along its entire length with a suitable thickness to guarantee safety and durability. However, what they are laying is a slurry-type bituminous mix (blend of asphalt and aggregates), intended for low-traffic roads and for correcting minor surface defects, but offering no structural strength to the existing pavement. It is a cheap solution and not appropriate for a road of this kind.

ALGARROBO

Algarrobo reinforces police surveillance against thefts and robberies in the Axarquía: {Translation, summary}

ALMUÑÉCAR

Almuñécar and La Herradura lay the first stone of the Coastal Path: {Translation, summary}
– The project begins construction of the first section of the Coastal Path, a new 24 kilometre walkway running along the shoreline of Almuñécar and linking the provincial boundary with Málaga across to the municipal boundary with Salobreña. – As temperatures plummet, forecasters also warned the North York Moors and the Highlands of Scotland – could experience “thundersnow.” Temperatures could also drop to a staggering minus 12. Sturnus, the Android banking trojan that bypasses encryption in apps like WhatsApp and Telegram: {Translation, summary}
– Sturnus is a newly identified banking trojan aimed at Android users in Europe, distributed through phishing campaigns and run by a private operator. Although still considered in the early stages of its development, it already shows advanced capabilities. The malware can steal banking credentials by placing false login screens over legitimate applications and can give cybercriminals full control of an infected device. This allows them to observe user behaviour and hide malicious activity.
– Its most concerning feature is its ability to compromise encrypted messaging platforms, including WhatsApp, Telegram and Signal. Rather than breaking encryption, Sturnus uses Accessibility Service permissions to read everything displayed on screen. It waits until each messaging application decrypts a message for the user, then silently captures the contents. This method completely sidesteps end to end encryption and exposes private conversations, placing any sensitive information shared through these services at significant risk. – Madrid’s Commercial Court No. 15 has ordered Meta to pay 479 million euros to 87 Spanish digital press outlets and news agencies in AMI for unfairly using personal data from Facebook and Instagram users to gain an advertising advantage. The court found that Meta’s behavioural advertising, based on millions of improperly obtained data points, gave it a significant edge over Spain’s digital press.
– The claim covers May 2018 to July 2023, after the GDPR came into force. Meta Ireland refused to provide Spanish accounts to investigators, so the court independently verified claims and concluded that Meta earned over 5.281 billion euros in Spain during this period through unlawful practices.
– Yet the fine compensates the press with only €479 million, leaving more than 4.8 billion euros of illicit profit with Meta. The ruling specifies that this compensation should be shared among competing digital media outlets, proportionally to their market share. The actual victims– ordinary users whose personal data fuelled Meta’s massive profits– receive nothing. Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield, the Stone Roses and Primal Scream bassist, dies aged 63:
– Gary “Mani” Mounfield, best known as a founding member and bassist of the Stone Roses, has died aged 63. The cause of death has not been shared. In 2023, his wife, Imelda, died from cancer. Mani was born on 16 November 1962 in Crumpsall. He attended Xaverian college in Rusholme and left school age 16. His brother Greg Mounfield posted the news on Facebook: “It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce the sad passing of my brother.” His nephew also shared the news.
