ANNUAL HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER
I can only produce DigameXtra with the financial support of my readers. Once a year, during the year end holidays, I do an 8 week fundraiser to help pay production expenses throughout the whole year. This year’s goal is to receive donations from 4% of subscribers. This “4% Club” finances DigameXtra for the 96% group that don’t donate. Which group will you belong to? The generosity of the 4% Club members is greatly appreciated.
Just like your morning coffee,
what would you do
without your morning DigameXtra?
– Holiday Donation Info, 2 Methods –
DigameXtra subscribers must donate at least €20 (39 cents per week) to gain annual submission posting privileges.
#1. You may drop cash donations off in person and say hello, by appointment, or place them in my mailbox beside my door anytime. Please be sure to include your name on the envelope so I can put you on the list of subscribers with submission posting privileges for 2025-2026! Due to health reasons, unannounced drop-ins are inconvenient for me. But if I am expecting you, no problem! My mailbox has the name HARRIS on it. Email me for map and directions. Cash donations are strongly preferred.
#2. Alternatively, you may send me an Amazon ES (Spain) “eGift card” by email. You need to have an Amazon.es account. The only info you need is my email address and your name (the sender’s name). Remember, this is an “eGift card” you buy that Amazon.es emails directly to me, don’t buy a plain “gift card”. Use the link provided below to access the “eGift card” purchase page.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND AMAZON UK eGIFT CARDS. NO BANK TRANSFERS OR PAYMENT APPS.
Here is the Amazon.es eGift Card Link, (NOTE: YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY AMOUNT YOU LIKE ON THE FORM, THE DEFAULT IS €60):
https://www.amazon.es/Cheques-Regalo-Amazon-es-mail-Amazon/dp/B07SS5PFJK/?th=1&gpo=60
On the eGift card purchase form, enter the DigameXtra email as the recipient, as shown below in Spanish and with English translation.
Para/For : digamextra@protonmail.com
Please do not ask me about gaining posting privileges by making small donations of under €20, several times a year. Several people promised to do that for each of the last two annual fundraisers, and not a single one followed up.
Total Donations Received As Of Today: 53
Target, 4% of subscribers = 200 donations

Rondeles Festival of Casarabonela 2025: Fri – Sat, 12 – 14 Dec
The annual spectacular fire ritual, plus concerts, tastings, Christmas Market, workshops, and more…
The night is illuminated by the flames of the rondeles, the old esparto baskets used in the mills to press the olives, which at the beginning of the eighteenth century the millers began to burn as an act of gratitude for the good harvest. Those improvised torches have since become the symbol of a unique procession, where fire, devotion and collective memory completely transform the physiognomy of the town, welcoming the Christmas festivities with this particular rite.

SPAIN
DigameXtra Editorial:
Pedro uses the Sargent Schultz Defence, “I know nothing, nooo-thinggg”:
– Pedro Sánchez has had a baffling week. Days ago he publicly declared his former right hand man, José Luis Ábalos, a “great unknown to me”. That’s rich for someone he personally appointed as Minister of Transport, Mobility and Urban Agenda, and who held a top party leadership role, Secretary of Organisation of PSOE. Ábalos now faces allegations of irregular contracting, bid-rigging, and diverting public funds through favoured companies. Reports suggest this was no one-off: his influence allegedly spanned years, yet Sánchez claims he knew nothing.
– This weekend Sánchez repeats the act with José Luis Salazar, another trusted associate newly exposed in a scandal. “I know nothing of him,” Sánchez says. Salazar served as a senior adviser close to PSOE leadership, was proposed as deputy to the PSOE Organization department, and held a key institutional-coordination role in the Presidency of the Government, overseeing internal appointments, advising Sánchez on key personnel, and liaising with regional party offices– he was Sánchez’s “fixer”. Salazar now faces allegations of influence peddling and multiple sexual harassment claims, including coercive behaviour, inappropriate remarks, and creating an intimidating environment for women linked to the party.
– The contradictions mount: Sánchez appointed the recently convicted ex-Attorney General, Álvaro García Ortiz. Both Sánchez’s wife and brother are also under judicial inquiry. Together, these cases raise the same glaring question– how can a prime minister repeatedly claim ignorance of people he selected, promoted, relied on, and lives with? If Sánchez truly knows nothing about any of these cases, he admits catastrophic misjudgement and ineptitude. If he does know and pretends otherwise, well that’s even worse!
– Of course, all are assumed innocent until proven guilty. However, the numbers are building up…there’s a lot of smoke…bound to be a fire somewhere in there, and for Pedro this is not a good look. However, his cavalier attitude will be very attractive to the UN/EU/WHO/WEF committees eagerly awaiting to recruit him into the executive ranks of their globalist efforts once he loses his current office.
– Perhaps we are doing the world a favour keeping him isolated here in Spain. Remember the “Pedro Principle”– people in a hierarchy tend to rise to “a level of respective incompetence”.
– Sargent Schultz was a beloved character in the USA TV comedy, HOGAN’S HEROS (1966-1971). Bob Crane starred as Colonel Robert E. Hogan, coordinating an international crew of Allied prisoners covertly running a special operations group from the German POW camp. Werner Klemperer played Colonel Wilhelm Klink, the obtuse and oblivious commandant of the camp. John Banner played the gullible and affable sergeant-of-the-guard Hans Schultz, known for his catchphrase, “I know nothing, nooo-thinggg”. Hogan’s Hero’s was ground-breaking in this genre, and influential in the creation of the legendary M.A.S.H. “wartime comedy” tv show.

ANDALUCÍA
Andalusia counts 10 deaths in traffic accidents on the weekend of the Immaculate Conception long weekend: {Translation, summary}
– Andalucía recorded ten deaths in seven road accidents over the Immaculate Conception long weekend. The incidents occurred between Friday afternoon and Monday evening and also left seven people seriously injured and four slightly injured. Fatal accidents took place in Jaén, Seville and Málaga provinces, involving vehicles that left the road, rolled over or collided head on or laterally. Notable incidents included two deaths in Porcuna when a car struck an olive tree, and two more in Estepa in a multiple collision. Málaga province saw further fatalities in Ronda and Marbella, where initial reports underestimated the number of victims. Emergency teams evacuated numerous injured people to hospitals in Osuna, Ronda and Málaga. Minister Sanz claims the medical testing system is fixed? Not quite– PSOE-A denounces two million pending diagnostic tests in Andalucia and blames Moreno for the “collapse”: {Translation, summary}
– María Ángeles Prieto of the PSOE-A claims Andalucía’s public health system faces an emergency, citing more than two million people waiting for diagnostic tests. She accuses President Juanma Moreno of deliberately engineering a collapse through a planned shift towards private healthcare. According to Prieto, the Junta intends to outsource over one million diagnostic procedures to private providers next year, which she describes as a strategy to favour private interests while weakening the public system.
– She highlights severe backlogs across Andalucía, including 5,400 unanalysed biopsies in Málaga, 40,000 pending tests in Huelva and radiology reviews delayed up to two years. Waiting lists exceed a year for colonoscopies in Córdoba and ultrasounds in Sevilla, where more than 1,300 women still await mammograms. Other issues include night-time closure of the haemodynamics unit in Cádiz, nine-month waits for cardiac tests in Jaén, specialist appointments already pushed into 2026 and year-long delays for CT and MRI scans in Almería.
– Prieto argues that recent failures in breast cancer screening are only the visible part of a deeper structural breakdown. She claims the system is failing in diagnosis, treatment, prevention and patient safety, and denounces what she sees as the PP’s mismanagement and diversion of public resources. Source, Spanish: https://www.europapress.es/andalucia/noticia-psoe-denuncia-dos-millones-pruebas-diagnosticas-pendientes-andalucia-culpa-moreno-colapso-20251208122633.html

Shield protecting Chernobyl nuclear power plant no longer blocks radiation, IAEA says: {Summary}
– Radiation shield at Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant’s reactor four in Ukraine has lost its “primary safety functions” after being struck by a drone in February, according to the UN nuclear watchdog International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA). The steel structure’s ability to confine radiation was compromised, though its load-bearing components and monitoring systems remain intact and so far no radiation leak has been reported.
– Ukrainian prosecutors attribute the strike to a Russian Shahed drone. The article notes this claim, but also reports that Moscow denies any attack on the plant. Because the IAEA itself has not assigned responsibility, and Russia disputes the accusation, the attribution remains disputed. The damage has nevertheless raised serious concern about long-term nuclear safety and the urgent need for comprehensive repairs. HEALTH
Doctors are back on strike from this Tuesday and in the middle of a wave of flu to demand from the Health Ministry its own Framework Statute: {Translation, summary}
– Andalucía’s medical unions are taking part in four days of national strike action from Tuesday to Friday in response to the Ministry of Health’s proposed reform of the Framework Statute. Regional services enter the stoppages with hospitals and primary care already under heavy strain from the surge in flu and other winter viruses, which has pushed waiting rooms close to saturation.
– Andalusian doctors back the national demand for clearer rules on on call duty, proper remuneration for extra hours and limits that prevent extended weekly workloads. They also reject the continued use of service needs as a tool to impose long shifts. Although the main demonstrations are in Madrid, Andalusian staff are observing the strike across the region, warning that the current draft offers no meaningful improvement to working conditions. Unions in Andalucía state that further stoppages will follow unless the Ministry returns with a more credible proposal. Can I test the V16 beacon at home without alerting the emergency services? And what is the proper procedure for using it? The DGT responds: {Translation, summary}
– Starting 1st January, the V16 emergency beacon will be the only legal way to signal an emergency on Spanish roads, with fines for non-compliance from 2026. While many drivers have already bought the DGT-approved device, there is still confusion about how it works. One key question is whether it can be tested at home without triggering emergency services.
– The answer is yes—testing the device at home won’t result in any emergency response, as no services will be dispatched. However, if you experience a breakdown on the road, you will need to call 112 or a recovery service manually. The V16 beacon will only send the incident’s location to the DGT if it remains active for more than 100 seconds, but this information won’t directly help the driver. It allows the DGT to monitor the situation, but they don’t automatically send emergency services or recovery assistance. The incident is flagged on major navigation platforms, like Waze and Google Maps, to alert other drivers using those apps about the breakdown or emergency. It may trigger warnings on highway traffic status signs. However, it is still the responsibility of the driver to use their mobile phone to request roadside assistance and notify emergency services or insurance.
**Correct Way to Activate the V16 on the Road**
– In an emergency, if the vehicle is still operable, emergency lights should be activated, and the car should be moved to the hard shoulder or a safe area, where the V16 beacon is to be turned on. If continuing is not possible, the car should be stopped on the hard shoulder, the V16 light activated, and placed on the roof to alert other drivers, thanks to its visible signal up to 1 km and its magnetic base.
– The DGT will automatically receive the location of the incident via the device’s connectivity. Finally, if it is safe to do so, the driver should exit the vehicle and call for assistance; otherwise, they should remain inside with their seatbelt on and call 112 or their insurance company’s breakdown service.

Nigerian state secures release of 100 out of 265 kidnapped schoolchildren taken by gunmen from a Catholic school last month: {Summary of 2 English language articles}
– Nigerian authorities have secured the release of 100 kidnapped schoolchildren taken by gunmen from a Catholic school last month, a UN source and local media said on Sunday, though the fate of another 165 students and staff thought to remain in captivity remained unclear.
– In November 315 students and staff were kidnapped from St Mary’s co-educational boarding school in north-central Niger state, as the country buckled under a wave of mass abductions reminiscent of the infamous 2014 Boko Haram abduction of schoolgirls in Chibok. About 50 of the abductees escaped shortly afterward, leaving 265 thought to be in captivity. [ https://www.theguardian.com/world/2025/dec/07/release-secured-of-100-kidnapped-nigerian-schoolchildren-but-many-still-being-held ]
– A total of 100 of the schoolchildren abducted from a Nigerian Catholic school last month and released over the weekend were hosted at a government-organized ceremony on Monday, many of them looking lost but relieved. Details surrounding their release were not made public and the government has not said if any ransom- common in such abductions- was paid.
