ANNUAL HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER
I can only produce DigameXtra with the financial support of my readers. Once a year, during the year end holidays, I do an 8 week fundraiser to help pay production expenses throughout the whole year. This year’s goal is to receive donations from 4% of subscribers. This “4% Club” finances DigameXtra for the 96% group that don’t donate. Which group will you belong to? The generosity of the 4% Club members is greatly appreciated.
Just like your morning coffee,
what would you do
without your morning DigameXtra?
– Holiday Donation Info, 2 Methods –
DigameXtra subscribers must donate at least €20 (39 cents per week) to gain annual submission posting privileges.
#1. You may drop cash donations off in person and say hello, by appointment, or place them in my mailbox beside my door anytime. Please be sure to include your name on the envelope so I can put you on the list of subscribers with submission posting privileges for 2025-2026! Due to health reasons, unannounced drop-ins are inconvenient for me. But if I am expecting you, no problem! My mailbox has the name HARRIS on it. Email me for map and directions. Cash donations are strongly preferred.
#2. Alternatively, you may send me an Amazon ES (Spain) “eGift card” by email. You need to have an Amazon.es account. The only info you need is my email address and your name (the sender’s name). Remember, this is an “eGift card” you buy that Amazon.es emails directly to me, don’t buy a plain “gift card”. Use the link provided below to access the “eGift card” purchase page.
PLEASE DO NOT SEND AMAZON UK eGIFT CARDS. NO BANK TRANSFERS OR PAYMENT APPS.
Here is the Amazon.es eGift Card Link, (NOTE: YOU CAN CHOOSE ANY AMOUNT YOU LIKE ON THE FORM, THE DEFAULT IS €60):
https://www.amazon.es/Cheques-Regalo-Amazon-es-mail-Amazon/dp/B07SS5PFJK/?th=1&gpo=60
On the eGift card purchase form, enter the DigameXtra email as the recipient, as shown below in Spanish and with English translation.
Para/For : digamextra@protonmail.com
Please do not ask me about gaining posting privileges by making small donations of under €20, several times a year. Several people promised to do that for each of the last two annual fundraisers, and not a single one followed up.
Total Donations Received As Of Today: 65
Target, 4% of subscribers = 200 donations

The Blue Stompers Jump Review: Fri, 19 Dec, 8pm
Villa de Nerja Cultural Center, C/ Granada 45, Nerja
This group has been, for many years, the hidden black pearl of the blues on the Costa del Sol. A multinational band composed of Javier Martín on bass, the “British-Cypriot” Paul Stylianou (harmonica and vocals) and one of the oldest guitars in Fuengirola and its surroundings, that of Víctor “Elmore” Sánchez, and Olmo Sánchez on drums. The Stompers sound like Woogie Boogie, African-American blues, New Orleans jazz from the 40s and the rawest R&B of Dr. Feelgood.

SPAIN
The Government creates a single transport pass throughout Spain for 60 euros per month, with some limitations as regions begin adopting it: {Translation, summary}
– The government is extending transport subsidies and creating a single travel pass for the whole country. It will cost €60 per month and €30 for those under 26, as confirmed by Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez. From the second half of January, it will be available to users of medium-distance trains, commuter trains and state buses.
– “It is a very strong commitment to sustainable mobility and also to the middle and working classes, because this means savings for the pockets of many families in our country,” Sánchez said during the end-of-year political review before the Christmas holidays.
– Furthermore, Pedro Sánchez has called on the autonomous communities and municipalities to integrate their networks into this pass, “facilitating access to public transport throughout the country for all citizens.” This would allow the inclusion of both urban buses and Metro lines, for example, in the single pass. “We expect all regional and local public transport networks to gradually join,” sources from the Executive branch indicate.

– Eggs, coffee, beef, chocolate and cocoa are the food products that have seen the sharpest price rises in Spain between January and November this year, with increases that in all cases exceed double digits.

The price of chocolate shows a cumulative increase of 13.3%, beef is 15.6% more expensive, and cocoa and drinking chocolate have raised their prices by 12.4%.

Consumer Affairs fines Airbnb €64 million for advertising unlicensed Spanish tourist accommodations: {Translation, summary}
– Spain’s Ministry of Consumer Affairs has fined Airbnb 64.06 million euros for advertising more than 65,000 tourist properties without valid licences. The sanction follows an investigation opened in December 2024, which found listings without licences, with false registration numbers, or lacking truthful information about the legal status of hosts, amounting to misleading advertising.
– The penalty includes orders to remove unlawful content and to make the fine public. The amount reflects six times the profit earned while the illegal adverts were online. Airbnb also received a separate 10,000 euro fine for failing to cooperate with inspectors by not responding to information requests. Although the company argued that it requires hosts to comply with local rules, it resisted removing the listings for months, only doing so this summer. Consumer Affairs says no company is above the law and links the action to wider housing pressures. The ministry is pursuing other agencies over alleged abusive rental practices. Sánchez acknowledges that the economic upturn is not fully reaching citizens– ‘There is some truth in that’: {Translation, summary}
– Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez has highlighted Spain’s strong macroeconomic indicators while acknowledging that these improvements are not fully reflected in the everyday lives of citizens. Presenting his report Cumpliendo, he accepted criticism that positive national figures do not automatically translate into tangible household benefits, conceding that this perception has a basis in reality.
– Sánchez cited a 10 percent increase in real household disposable income over seven years and a 17 percent rise in average salaries as evidence of progress. “There is still a lot to do. (…) The purchasing power of Spaniards is still low, there are too many people who live in precariousness and deprivation. What is undeniable is that we are going in the right direction, we are on the right track to solve these problems and that the solution lies in those redistributive policies that the progressive coalition government is promoting,” he stressed.

Three people arrested in Vélez-Málaga after the dismantling of a dangerous network with explosive material: {Translation, summary}
– National Police officers carried out an operation in Vélez-Málaga that resulted in the arrest of three individuals on suspicion of drug trafficking, illegal possession of explosives and ammunition, document falsification and involvement in a criminal group. The investigation focused on a rural property in Benajarafe that was repeatedly visited by the suspects and used to store fuel containers and chemical products.
– During searches, police seized MDMA, cocaine, chemical substances, precision scales and materials associated with drug processing. The property also contained petrol containers believed to be intended for use by narco speedboats operated by associated groups. The investigation removed a local drug related logistics site and was reported to the investigating court in Vélez-Málaga. Apple Issues Security Updates After Two WebKit Flaws Found Exploited in the Wild:
– Apple on Friday released security updates for iOS, iPadOS, macOS, tvOS, watchOS, visionOS, and its Safari web browser to address two security flaws that it said have been exploited in the wild, one of which is the same flaw that was patched by Google in Chrome earlier this week. Apple said it’s aware that the shortcomings “may have been exploited in an extremely sophisticated attack against specific targeted individuals on versions of iOS before iOS 26.”
– The vulnerabilities were likely weaponized in highly-targeted mercenary spyware attacks, given that they both affect WebKit, the rendering engine that’s also used in all third-party web browsers on iOS and iPadOS, including Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and others.
– Apple users are urged to do a full system update as soon as possible.

SCAMS
The scam that starts with a ‘like’; this is how the fraud that hooks thousands of young people in Spain works: {Translation, summary}
– Parents are being warned about a growing online scam that specifically targets young people through social media and messaging apps. Known as the “like scam”, it draws youths into WhatsApp or Telegram groups without their consent, offering easy money for simple tasks such as liking posts, following accounts or watching videos. Small initial payments are made to build trust, before the scam escalates and victims are pressured to pay money to unlock higher earning levels. Because the platforms are familiar and the early sums are small, the risk feels low. Fake profiles inside the groups boast about profits, creating strong peer pressure. Many young victims are then encouraged to recruit friends or relatives, spreading the scam rapidly. Parents should be alert to sudden messages about online work, requests to make upfront payments, or unexplained transfers. Setting messaging apps so only contacts can add users to groups, and discussing online risks openly, are key steps in prevention. New Life Church
– Sunday Service:
Whether you live in Nerja or are visiting our area, you are very welcome to come and join us on Sundays at 11.00am. Join us for a time of Holy Spirit led worship and experience the presence of our God. Our teaching is Bible based as we honour God and obey His Word. During this time of uncertainty, God’s Word reminds us that the Gospel shines brightest in times of darkness. Our service lasts for about 1 hour and 30 mins. With Tea and Coffee afterwards.
– Prayer Meeting:
You are also welcome to join our prayer meetings on Wednesday mornings at 11.00am for 1 hour, where we meet for prayer and worship.
– Jesus said: “I am the Way and the Truth and the Life. No one comes to the Father except through me”. (John 14:6)

We enjoy a time of worship with contemporary songs and traditional hymns, and a message brought to us by our Pastor, one of our members or a visiting speaker.
The church meeting hall is situated at: Res: El Olivar 5, 8 Bajo 1, Calle Arbequin, Velez Malaga 29700.
Full directions and further information can be found on our Facebook page, or you can contact us by email on elpuentechristianfellowship@gmail.com or by phone on 665626342.
