ANNUAL HOLIDAY FUNDRAISER

 I can only produce DigameXtra with the financial support of my readers. Once a year, during the year end holidays, I do an 8 week fundraiser to help pay production expenses throughout the whole year. This year’s goal is to receive donations from 4% of subscribers. Too Much Monkey Business! – The Senate takes the Government before the TC for failing to present the Budget and calls for the extensions to be declared null and void: {Translation, summary}
– TC stands for Tribunal Constitucional, Spain’s Constitutional Court, the body responsible for interpreting the Constitution and ruling on whether laws or actions by public authorities comply with it.
– The Senate has taken a new conflict of powers to the Constitutional Court against the Government for failing to present the draft Budget Bill and for maintaining repeated budget extensions. Using its absolute majority, the PP secured approval in the Senate to pursue this action, which was formally sent to the Government and later referred to the court after no Budget was presented.
– The Senate argues that the failure to submit the Budget on time and the continued use of extensions breach several constitutional articles, including those governing parliamentary monarchy, parliamentary approval of Budgets, citizen participation, annuality, and limits on budget modifications. It also maintains that changes to the extended Budgets are being made outside Parliament. The Senate cites past precedents as a constitutional convention and claims further constitutional breaches. It therefore asks the court to rule on the legal consequences and to set a deadline for the Government to fulfil its constitutional budgetary obligations. MALAGA CITY

Be careful if you come to Malaga by car for Christmas- radars, controls and a new low emission zone: {Translation, summary, if this applies to you, I recommend reading the full article}
– Málaga expects a record number of Christmas visitors, and authorities advise careful driving to avoid fines ranging from 80 to 200 euros. Road surveillance is intense in winter. Notable speed traps include the A-7 at kilometre 1,021 towards Almería and the A-92 in the Montes de Málaga, where exceeding 80 km/h triggers fines. The MA-20 at kilometre 112 towards Churriana is another hotspot.

TORROX

Torrox will kick off the Tour of Andalusia cycling race: {Translation, summary}
– Torrox will once again feature prominently in professional cycling after confirmation that it will host a stage start of the Vuelta Ciclista a Andalucía Ruta del Sol. ALGARROBO

Algarrobo Costa will have its own health centre: {Translation}
– The residents of Algarrobo Costa will have their own health centre. This was announced by the regional Health delegate of the Junta, Carlos Bautista, during a visit to the municipal health centre, alongside the mayor of the town, Natacha Rivas (PP). Bautista stated that the 2026 budgets of the Junta de Andalucía include a budget allocation of more than 666,000 euros for the opening of a clinic in Algarrobo Costa next year.
– This new centre will have nine consulting rooms, a physiotherapy room, a paediatrics room, and a multipurpose room, according to Carlos Bautista. The delegate added that these “resources complete the expansion of services that we have already carried out in the health centre of this town thanks to the physical space provided by the Town Council”.
In recent months, the Junta has renovated the facilities of the Algarrobo health centre, with an investment of 230,000 euros, to accommodate new paediatrics and dentistry consultations, as well as the remodeling of the physiotherapy room and the women’s consultation room.
