Phoenix Club: The Phoenix Social Club is open to all nationalities but the lingua franca is English.

Two young men arrested in Nerja after throwing butane canisters at the local police from 3rd floor flat: {Trans., summary}
– Two young people in their 20s have been arrested on Holy Thursday after throwing two butane bottles and numerous objects from a third floor against local police officers, in an event that forced the police to cordon off an area next to the brotherhood houses of the Nazarene and the Resurrected, in Puente Viejo Street.
– The events occurred around 11.30 a.m., when a patrol crossed in the area of La Ermita with the two individuals, who apparently returned from spending the night of partying. According to sources close to the investigation, the two young people began to rebuke and provoke the agents, who decided to follow them. One of them has Spanish nationality with no origin mentioned and the other of South American origin and both are residents of Nerja.
– The situation worsened minutes later, when those involved accessed a house on the aforementioned Puente Viejo street and, far from deposing their behavior, began to throw objects from the windows, generating a serious risk for the agents and pedestrians. Among the items launched were two butane bottles, pieces of a motorcycle, ceramic slabs, bricks, chairs, woods and even a large metal structure, which were scattered on the public road. German men between the ages of 17 and 45 will need to request permission from the Army to leave the country for more than three months: {Trans., summary}
– “According to the text of the law, men aged 17 and over are now required to apply in advance for authorization from the Armed Forces career center for stays abroad lasting more than three months,” a spokesman for the German Ministry of Defense explained to the DPA news agency. “We will clarify through administrative provisions that the authorization will always be considered as granted as long as military service is voluntary,” he added. The so-called Military Service Modernization Act came into effect on January 1.

Dutch Treat- Fresh Stroopwafels at two Malaga locations: {Trans, summary}
– Stroopwafels, thin crisp biscuits filled with caramel and typical of Dutch confectionery, can now be enjoyed in Malaga city centre without travelling to Holland. Two establishments have opened within metres of each other and at practically the same time.
– El Wafelito, run by Mike van Laarhoven and Vanesa Alvarez, is located in an emblematic kiosk on the corner of Alameda Principal and Calle Pastora, next to the Casa de Guardia. They make wafels to order in several sizes from 4 euros, with chocolate topping if desired, and also sell packets of eight biscuits. They also offer wafel crumbs made from leftover dough edges.
– Almost simultaneously, Loes Bonvanie has opened Bon Bueno on Calle San Juan. In this small shop she makes stroopwafels by hand to order, alongside ice cream. Her stroopwafels come in various sizes with toppings such as pistachio, Lotus Biscoff spread or turron, from 3 euros for the smallest. Both establishments bring authentic Dutch recipes to Malaga.
