Los Paseos Primaverales de Rincón de la Victoria (Spring Walks):
– The area of Environmental Sustainability through Greencón, together with the Rincón de la Victoria Mountain Club, is promoting this initiative which will have four outings on 31 March, 21 April, 19 May and 2 June. The outings coincide with International Forest Day, International Earth Day, International Biodiversity Day and International Environment Day.
The walks will start this Sunday 31 March. All departures will be at 10.00 a.m. from the points assigned by the City Council and the CMR. Namely, the departures and meeting points are as follows:
-Sunday 31 March: International Day of Forests. Cañada Los González Route. Departure from the Rubén Ruzafa Pavilion. 10.00 a.m.
-Sunday 21 April: International Earth Day. Coastal Path-Treasure Cave Route. Starting point: Paseo Ecológico de Los Rubios (Bar Arias). 10.00 a.m.
-Sunday 19 May: International Botanical Diversity Day. Cortijo del Holgado-Capitana Route. Starting point: Casa Fuerte Bezmiliana. 10.00 a.m.
-Sunday 2 June: International Environment Day. Cerro de Benagalbón-Cerro Tío Cañas route. Departure from Benagalbón. 10.00 a.m.
“Each walk will last approximately 2 to 3 hours, during which participants will walk along carefully selected routes that highlight the natural beauty and history of Rincón de la Victoria,” said Cañas.

Pretend Poop Police Pester Pets- Dog owners alerted to fake police officers targeting foreign residents exercising their dogs on the Costa del Sol:
– Foreign residents in Torremolinos have been warned to be aware of people impersonating police officers who are allegedly targeting dog owners in the municipality and attempting to issue fines for offences such as not cleaning up after their pets.
– The scam came to light after one expat resident, Janis (surname withheld), was approached by an individual in civilian clothes claiming to be a police officer. The man, who showed her a fake identity badge, informed her that she would have to pay a fine of 500 euros for failing to clear up after her dog. “I said, okay, if this is correct, let’s go to the police station to go through the procedures, but he then took off. I know that I did not break any law, but other foreigners, perhaps, might be more vulnerable. I always carry my bottle with water and detergent when I go out with my dogs,” she said.
– Another foreigner experienced a similar situation, although on that occasion the individual allegedly produced a gun to apparently give greater veracity to the fact that he was a law enforcement officer. MALAGA PROVINCE
Reservoirs that supply Malaga city climb to just above ‘crisis’ threshold; reserves at La Concepción and La Viñuela (Axarquía) continue to remain alarmingly low:
– Drought levels have three thresholds: moderate, severe and crisis. Malaga province is in the latter, the most alarming. These levels are carefully assessed and set out in the Junta’s 2021 drought plan. But recently, the reservoirs that supply Malaga city have exceeded 71.4 cubic hectometres, which means they have risen above the red drought alert level and into the amber zone.
– What about the rest of Malaga province? La Concepción, which supplies the Costa del Sol, has exceeded 20 cubic hectometres. It gained 5hm³ with storm Monica and 7hm³ if previous dates are taken into account. The area will continue with cuts to water pressure at night (except on Saturdays) for the time being, and this summer it will have an additional 1hm³ a month as a result of the first improvement works at the Marbella desalination plant. However, it is still a long way from coming out of the crisis drought level, set at 28.7 hectometres in March and 31.4 in April.
– Meanwhile, in the Axarquia, it is a similar story. La Viñuela reached 16.38hm³ this Saturday, gaining 3hm³ with the storm. But the reservoir is a long way from the 41.5hm³ that marks the exit of the crisis drought level. Foreigners in Ireland Forced to Book Schengen Visa Appointments Through Brokers:
