Torrox celebrates the XXIV Children and Youth Folklore Festival coinciding with the May Crosses: Saturday, 4 May.
The preliminary route of the folklore festival will begin at around 19:30 hours from the Plaza San Roque with the accompaniment of the groups from Fregenal de la Sierra until reaching the Plaza Picasso, where the first performances are scheduled for around 20:00 hours in the Plaza Picasso in Torrox. As an added novelty, the festival will be “intergenerational”, and will also include the participation of members of the Peña Flamenca La Bodega and the Coros y Danzas de Torrox. Olive pollen reaches high levels throughout Andalusia except Almería and Cádiz: {Translation}
– Olive flowering has started with a sharp rise from low levels last week to high levels this week, and will affect all Andalusian provinces except Almeria and Cadiz.
– In addition, concentrations continue to rise and are expected to reach extreme levels this weekend, above 500 pollen grains per cubic metre of air, in the province of Granada.
