– On Wednesday Feb. 8th: The Spanish Civil War: On Feb. 8th at 11am, join us for a heartfelt discussion on what started in July 1936. If you remember last year, I presented La Desbandada, to commemorate the carnage on A340 in our area. This year, The Deadly Dry Run for WW2, a 22mn video will feature background comments (in English) to help our verbal momentum. Jose Manuel Cabezas Cabello, will facilitate the discussion, post viewing the video. This promises to be an educational and sobering session.
– On Wednesday Feb. 15th: Great 20th Century Crooners features 17 different artists and 29 tracks from these singers. The presentation traces the evolution and development of the musical style of crooning from the 1940’s onwards.
– Art Gallery: Exhibition of Paintings and Objects. Local artist Coby Bloemsma is exhibiting her latest work in the restaurant of Bio Beach Club. Semi-abstract in style, Coby’s paintings often have the human figure as subject. She uses acrylics and mixed-media. Her objects and sculptures are made from recycled materials. PRP eye drops: Does anyone use PRP eye drops, that is plasma rich platelets made from your blood. I realise this is a bit obscure but I need to know a source better than the one I have.
We live in Torrox campo and currently I have to travel to Malaga and it is the busiest part of the City where the cathedral is, very difficult nowhere to park and I have to wait an hour whilst they are prepared, this is necessary every month as I can only have two small bottles.
If anyone knows a laboratory able to do this process closer to home it would be a great help, Nerja, Velez or further but not right in the city centre.

Andalucia Regional Government rejects the “insane drift” of Penal Code reform, attacks President Sanchez, not going to “remain silent in the face of this democratic outrage”: {Translation}
– The spokesman for the Andalusian government, Ramón Fernández-Pacheco, has described the “absolutely insane drift” on the part of the government in relation to the reform of the Penal Code as “very serious”.
– Speaking to journalists before taking part in a flag ceremony in Almería, Fernández-Pacheco accused the government of Pedro Sánchez of crossing “red lines” that until now were “insurmountable for all those who were part of the great pact that we made in 1978 to forge the democracy that we enjoy today”.
– He stressed that judicial decisions “are there to be respected” and, after defending the separation of powers, he expressed his unease at the Government’s conversion of judges into “enemies”.
– In his opinion, “nobody understands” that the Penal Code can be modified “at the expense of the criminals themselves” because it is “in the interest” of the President of the Government. This modification “does not serve the general interest” or a “popular request or clamour from Spanish society”.
– “It only benefits Pedro Sánchez because his partners, the pro-independence Bildu and Esquerra Republicana, are the ones who keep him in power (…) I think we must return to common sense, common sense and a sense of state. Altered Photos Used To Blackmail Victims: {Translation, summary}
– The Guardia Civil has arrested four people in Almeria on charges of extorting money from Internet users with manipulated sex videos in which minors appeared.

RIP – Kim Simmonds & Dino Danelli – The world mourns passing of two ’60s rock pioneers who died mere days apart:
– Kim Simmonds of Savoy Brown (guitar) and Dino Danelli of The Young Rascals (drums) have passed away within only days of each other.
– Kim Simmonds was a legend in blues from the U.K. who gained his fame in the U.S. when his band, Savoy Brown, arrived at the tail end of the ’60s British Invasion. He kept it that way, rocking with the likes of Rod Stewart and The Faces. Born in 1947 in a small town called Newbridge in South Wales, at the tender age of 18, he formed Savoy Brown in 1965 and remained its only original member.
– Dino Danelli was one of the founding members of The Young Rascals, inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1997. Born in 1944, he came out of New Jersey to polish his talents by playing around in New York, New Orleans, and Las Vegas before joining forces with Felix Cavaliere, Eddie Brigati, and Gene Cornish.
