Huelva, Córdoba and part of Seville, Málaga, Cádiz and Jaén go to level 2 and will have new schedules: {Translated from sevilla.abc.es} Updated: 04/03/2021 18:44
-These new Level 2 covid restrictions in Andalusia will come into effect at midnight this Friday, that is, at 00:00 in the morning from March 4 to 5, for areas so designated.
-The entire province of Huelva, the Aljarafe, Seville South, Seville East and Seville capital health districts in the province of Seville; Guadalquivir, Córdoba, Córdoba North , Córdoba South in Córdoba; La Vega, Valle del Guadalhorce, Malaga and Axarquía in Malaga; and Jaén Norte, Jaén and Jaén Nordeste in the province of Jaén as well as part of the Campo de Gibraltar in Cádiz, will be in phase 2 of health alert from this Friday, according to the Junta de Andalucía.
-As announced this Wednesday by the Ministry of Health and Families , in these health districts the commercial and hospitality hours will be extended until half past nine at night. In the rest of Andalusia, for the moment, the is maintained closure of non-essential commerce at six in the afternoon as well as bars and restaurants .
-As indicated by the President of the Board, Juanma Moreno , with this new classification, almost half of Andalusia -384 municipalities- are free to schedule until half past nine at night. And that implies, it has shelled, both the hotel industry and the essential trade or not and the rest of commercial activities . “There they all enter, gyms, shops …”, has detailed the Andalusian president.
-” It is essential to act with caution to preserve this openness and to be able to apply it to all of Andalusia as soon as possible,” Moreno said in a Twitter message.
-Of the Andalusian capitals, only Granada, Almería and Cádiz are left out of phase 2 and must continue with their non-essential trade and closed hospitality, according to the map provided by the Junta de Andalucía. In the rest of the capitals – Huelva, Seville, Córdoba, Jaén and Malaga – bars, restaurants and non-essential shops can already close at half past nine at night.
-In addition, and regardless of the alert phase you are in, from this Friday throughout Andalusia the meetings will be expanded from four to six people.
-On the other hand, in level 3 there are Sierra de Cádiz, Jerez Northeast Coast, Bahía de Cádiz -La Janda and the westernmost half of Campo de Gibraltar in the province of Cádiz; also the Costa del Sol in Malaga; Jaén Sur in Jaén; Granada, Granada Northeast , and Granada South in Granada; and Almería and Levante-Alto Almanzara in the province of Almería. And at level 4 the Sierra Norte de Sevilla, the remain Serranía de Málaga and Poniente de Almería. Andalusia adds 985 coronavirus infections, the best Thursday since the beginning of December: {Translated from sevilla.abc.es}
-Andalusia has today added 985 coronavirus infections . This is the lowest figure for a Thursday since the beginning of last December, three months ago. Furthermore, the community has not exceeded a thousand cases per day since last February, six days ago.
-Seville is the province that has added the most cases, with 204, followed by Malaga with 193, Granada with 146, Cádiz with 133 and Almería with 126. The rest of the provinces are located 76 in Córdoba, Jaén with 72 and Huelva with 35.
-The curve of the third wave is clearly downward, although there are signs of a slowdown in the decline in the data . Although there are fewer positives, the cases are falling less strongly than a month ago. Then the decline in contagions was so marked that the decline in the wave – like the rise – was almost vertical. That is no longer the case. There are fewer cases, but they descend with less power.
-Despite this loss of speed, the incidence rate remains low. In fact, this Thursday is in 134 cases for every one hundred thousand inhabitants, ten points less than yesterday. In addition, in the 7-day incidence rate -which marks the trend of the pandemic in the shorter term, it has already fallen from 50 points , which augurs that at least in the next few days the news will continue to be positive.
-Yet again the slowdown. In going down from almost 1,000 points to only 200 Andalusia took four weeks. An average of 200 points per week. Now in those same seven days it has only been reduced by 70 points . The community improves its data, but more slowly.
-The same slowed-down effect of improvement is experienced in hospitals. The community has this Thursday 1,625 admitted , 92 less than yesterday . The figure is positive, there is no doubt about that. They are less. But in recent weeks the drop in admitted for a Thursday was, on average, closer to 200 – and even 300 people – than a hundred.
In the ICU, this slowdown has not yet been noticed. It is logical, because those admitted to intensive care is one of the parameters that show the trend changes the longest. Thus, Andalusia today has 391 hospitalized in the ICU, 19 less than yesterday. Juan Marín assures that Andalusia decides in a week whether to allow mobility between provinces: {Translated from sevilla.abc.es}
-The vice president of the Board, Juan Marín, has indicated that the decision on the opening between provinces within Andalusia could be taken in seven or ten days, although he has said that for this we must see the evolution of the British strain in the next days.
-To questions from journalists, Marín pointed out that one of the experts’ recommendations this Wednesday was to evaluate the evolution of the strain in order to determine to what extent the perimeter closure can be opened of the autonomous community .
-In this sense, he added that, in his opinion, for this “we would have to consider an opening within our community of the provincial perimeter closures after a view to the next two or three weeks maximum.”
-However, he pointed out that ” this would be reasonable if the evolution of the British strain evidently allows it”, since ” there is uncertainty with the behavior of this strain of the virus and at the moment there are already 40-50% of infections of the last 14 days that come from this strain, which has a behavior in terms of hospitalizations and ICU stay longer than the previous one.”
“Today we have dropped from the 400 admitted to the ICU, we see better data but they are very similar to the worst of the first wave, which it already seems that we have forgotten, but we had 438 in the ICU. We must be cautious and prudent , because a new wave could take us to a higher figure and we would put the lives of many people at risk, and we are not going to do that, ”said Marín.
-Thus, he has stated that he hopes that a decision can be made in the next ” seven or ten days” regarding the opening between provinces, “and from there see if within the inter-territorial commission a coordination can be proposed so that in Semana Santa we can carry out a controlled opening “, for which” the health card, the QR code issued by the Junta de Andalucía would be a fantastic tool for anyone who is already immunized could move “.
-Marín has stated that ” the most important thing is that yesterday the expert committee has already moved a series of proposals that have been launched”, such as the extension of hours in business and commercial activities in those health districts that are at level 2 . In this sense, he has indicated that in Andalusia there are currently 19 of the 33 health districts that are at level 2. Tsunami alert- mass evacuation order issued for New Zealand’s North Island following earthquake: A powerful 8.0-magnitude earthquake has struck off the eastern side of New Zealand’s North Island, prompting a second tsunami warning hours after an earlier alert was withdrawn.
The New Zealand National Emergency Management Agency (Nema) issued a national warning on Friday morning, saying people on the east coast of North Island “must move immediately to the nearest high ground, out of all tsunami evacuation zones, or as far inland as possible. Do not stay at home”.
The US Geological Survey said this larger quake, following two others earlier on, was located near the remote Kermadec Islands at a depth of 12 miles (19km).
The US Tsunami Warning System also said the quake could cause tsunami waves reaching between 3ft (1 metre) and 10ft in height in French Polynesia, and waves of up to 3ft in Niue, New Caledonia and the Solomon Islands.
