New exhibition in Galeria Luz de la Vida Competa: Inauguration Sunday the 4th of August at 7pm
Summer Exhibition in Galeria Luz de la Vida Competa
This August the gallery features work by professional artists: Leanda Jaine, Sandra Costello, Nanon Morsink, Lieuwke Loth and Bo Arenander.
All of whom are based in Competa! You may know their art from seeing it during the Competa Art Walk earlier this year. The charmingly rustic and yet modern gallery space offers an authentic and cosy atmosphere for you to enjoy this months contemporary art collection beautifully displayed within.
A journey to the lower floor of the gallery will lead you out into the garden, popular for its gentle fusion between the sculptures and flora created and nurtured by Lieuwke Loth: a perfect place to sit down, relax, refresh and enjoy the beauty.
Please feel welcome to visit us and explore the gallery to its fullest. We have all kinds of art waiting to be discovered; from big to small works, abstract to figurative. Colorful to black and white, paintings to prints to sculptures. If you wish there is also a delightful collection of original art postcards, gift cards and posters available for purchase. Get inspired by high quality art and a good atmosphere at galleria Luz de la Vida.

An exhibition by James Wilmot LRPS: Starts at the Turisimo de Torrox costa on the 1st of August and will now run till the 27th of August. The exhibition will consist of photographs taken in India, Sri Lanca and a selection of photographs of the artists choice.
The exhibition will continue in Frigiliana from the 29th of August to the 29th of September in La Casa de La Cultura de Frigiliana.

Celtic Night – Noche Celta in Mijas Auditorium: Sat, August 3rd, 2019 at 6pm till 2am
An evening of modern and traditional Celtic entertainment with Pipers & Drums, Riverdance, song and 2 bands.
The event starts on Saturday 3rd August in the afternoon with a Celtic themed market in the plaza between the Auditorium, the Plaza de Toros and the Encarnación church. The doors to the auditorium open at 8pm when hot food and a bar will be serving traditional fare.
The children from Banana studios start the entertainment with traditional Welsh, Scottish and Irish song and dance, followed by Riverdance, Pipes & Drums, Stolen Gnomes and Dex’s Celtic Connections for an evening crammed full of entertainment for ALL the family.

Hello everyone! In Malagalingo we have changed our schedule for the single conversation lessons in Spanish (€ 5/hour).
From now on, the schedule will be as follows:
Every Tuesday and Thursday
– from 10:00 to 11:00 for basic level
– from 11:00 to 12:00 for intermediate and advanced level
And remember: you don’t need book in advance. You can just turn up on a Tuesday or Thursday whenever you want.
We are in Torrox Costa, just opposite Mercadona
The school will be open all summer, also throughout the month of July and August (except the week of Monday, July 29 to Sunday, August 4, the school will be closed).
And of course, we also keep going in summer with our regular courses and summer intensive courses.
