Heavily infected comps, computers taking more than 2 minutes to startup or shutdown, or showing error messages, those need a repair, not a maintenance service. HDD hard disks of 1000Gb or more add €10.

Its epicentre was around 2 kilometres deep, and the quake reached maximum intensity V-VI. It was widely felt across Andalucía, including many municipalities in the Axarquía.
– More than 40 smaller seismic movements followed during the night, particularly around Gójar, Ogíjares, La Zubia, Alhendín and Villa de Otura. Some exceeded magnitude 2, while others reached 3.3 and 3.0. The first aftershock, magnitude 2.6, occurred only minutes after the main earthquake.

Moreno calls on the people of Granada to calm in the face of the aftershocks of the latest earthquakes– “We must be cautious”: {Trans, summary}
– The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, called for calm this Sunday for the citizens of the province of Granada, stating that it is “very likely and foreseeable” that seismic movements will be repeated after the earthquake of magnitude 5 recorded last Saturday morning with its epicenter in Alhendín (Granada), and the second earthquake of magnitude 3.1 located in Armilla during the night of this Sunday.
– In a media release from the Advanced Command Post located in Niebla (Huelva), Moreno has warned that it is expected that in the coming days and even weeks there will be tremors and aftershocks. RINCÓN DE LA VICTORIA
Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall reports to the Civil Guard the theft of four regulation weapons from the Local Police Headquarters: {Trans, summary}
– The Rincón de la Victoria Town Hall has reported to the Civil Guard the theft of four regulation weapons from the Local Police Headquarters of Torre de Benagalbón.
– According to the complaint, the stolen weapons are four regulation pistols that were not assigned to any active officer, having been surrendered by four officers upon their retirement in recent years. These weapons were stored in the designated safe within the police station.
– The complaint was filed after the annual review of the regulated arsenal carried out by the Local Police of Rincón de la Victoria detected that the four handguns were not in the regulated storage place. From that very moment the corresponding protocol was activated, proceeding to the immediate filing of the complaint and the notification of the Civil Guard, which directs the proceedings and the investigation itself. BENALMÁDENA
Benalmádena maintains the red flag and the ban on swimming on five beaches on its coast due to possible pollution: {Trans, summary}
– On 16 August 2026, Benalmádena municipality closed Las Gaviotas beach to bathing as a precaution after several swimmers reported skin rashes and dermal reactions shortly after entering the water. The town council immediately raised the red flag and extended the same bathing ban to four other nearby beaches: Santa Ana, Bil-Bil, Arroyo de la Miel, and Los Melilleros. All five remain off-limits while authorities conduct water quality tests to determine whether bacteria, chemical residues, or other pollutants are present.
– On the same coastline, Fuente de la Salud and Carvajal beaches flew yellow flags– Carvajal specifically because of jellyfish sightings, no explanation offered regarding Fuente de la Salud.
– This comes just one day after Málaga city closed four beaches due to storm-related sewage spills; by 16 August, three of those (Sacaba, Misericordia, Guadalmar) had reopened with green flags, while San Andrés still awaits test results. Lifeguards and local police are enforcing the bans, and swimmers are urged to obey all signage. Source, Spanish: https://www.laopiniondemalaga.es/costa-sol-occidental/2026/08/16/playa…

IMMIGRATION IN SPAIN
Spain disregarded Ceuta warnings before migrant rush, say border-workers unions:
– In the weeks before a rush of more than 70,000 migrants into the Spanish enclave of Ceuta, border workers warned Spain’s central government that more people, spurred on by social media, were arriving by sea, adding they feared an escalation. Spain’s government did not heed their warnings and took little action, they told Reuters.
– A Spanish court ruling, published on June 29, stated migrants could only be immediately pushed back from entering Ceuta if they crossed a physical barrier, specifying that anyone swimming to the enclave did not. News of this ruling and videos of migrants successfully entering Ceuta encouraged more and more to try their luck. Spain’s government blamed the deadly rush of July 29-30 on misinformation about the ruling spread by criminal networks.
– However, public and private warnings issued by trade unions representing border workers, seen by Reuters, highlight that Spanish authorities were warned weeks earlier that arrivals to the enclave in North Africa could escalate and urged to act fast. Reuters reviewed six instances of written statements and letters to the national government representative in Ceuta and the enclave’s police chief from Spanish border unions calling for guidance and action from government after the court ruling. Morocco arrests 111 migrants headed for Spain’s Ceuta in security crackdown:
– Moroccan police arrested at least 111 people on Saturday as they tried to enter Spain’s North African enclave of Ceuta, amid tightened security on both sides of the border after social media posts called for another mass migrant crossing.
– A source in Morocco’s Interior Ministry told Reuters those detained included 109 migrants from sub-Saharan Africa and two Moroccan citizens arrested in or around Fnideq, the Moroccan city opposite Ceuta.
– According to Spanish news agency EFE, Moroccan police used tear gas to disperse groups of migrants gathered on hills about 3 km (1.9 miles) from the border. Reuters later saw hundreds of police officers, some in riot gear and others in plain clothes, returning from the hills outside Fnideq.
– EFE and Spanish state broadcaster TVE said Morocco’s Interior Ministry ordered their journalists to leave Fnideq immediately, without providing an explanation. Full article: https://www.reuters.com/world/africa/spain-boosts-security-ceuta-calls-appear-online-another-mass-border-rush-2026-08-14/
EUROPE
Belgium faces largest wildfire on record, turns to Europe for air support:
– Belgium authorities were awaiting crucial air support Sunday to help battle the largest wildfire in the country’s modern history, which has been ablaze since Friday. More than 250 firefighters and emergency personnel worked through the night in the High Fens nature reserve near the German border to stop the spread of the wildfire, which has scorched 3,000 hectares.
– Firefighters said they are relying heavily on aircraft Sunday to bring the blaze under control, with reinforcements arriving from several European countries. Belgian federal police helicopters and Dutch aircraft were already operating Sunday morning, repeatedly collecting water from a nearby lake. Additional helicopters from the Czech Republic and Sweden were expected to join later in the day after Belgium activated the EU’s Civil Protection Mechanism. Germany and Norway could also provide aerial support, European Commissioner for preparedness and crisis management, Hadja Lahbib, told AFP. UKRAINE WAR
Ukraine launches one of its largest aerial attacks of the war, Russia retaliates:
– Ukraine launched hundreds of drones across Russia on Sunday, killing at least six people in one of Kyiv’s largest aerial attacks of the war. Russia’s Ministry of Defense said it had destroyed 822 Ukrainian drones overnight. Some 600 drones were detected headed toward the Russian capital, Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin said, with a third of those destroyed over the Moscow region itself.
– Meanwhile, Ukraine also came under Russian attack, with drone strikes destroying homes and torching Kyiv’s landmark book market. A Russian missile attack on Ukraine’s Kryvyi Rih killed two people and wounded 14 others, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy wrote on social media Sunday. ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih, Ukraine’s largest steel producer, confirmed that one of its sites had been hit in a missile attack and that operations had been partially suspended. Russian attacks also sparked fires throughout the Ukrainian capital, Kyiv, wounding six people. A blaze took hold at one of the city’s largest book markets, tearing through kiosks huddled close to the Pochaina metro station. UK
Met Office warns another heatwave could hit UK in September after sweltering 38C temperatures:
– Another heatwave could be on the horizon, the Met Office has predicted, as the UK reels from a month of unprecedented hot and dry conditions.
– Temperatures are expected to finally come down next week after the fifth heatwave brought the hottest day of the year so far, with provisional peaks of 38.1C. But the Met Office has warned there is a chance of a late-season heatwave developing in the south as the UK moves into the meteorological autumn.
– According to the forecaster’s long-term forecast for 30 August to 13 September, “there is a chance that late-season hot spells or heatwaves develop, especially in the south.”
– It comes as almost three-quarters of England, and all of Wales, has been plunged into drought after the driest July on record. By 15 July this year, the UK had already recorded more days above 30C than in the whole of 1976, which was known for its long-lasting heatwave.

Football News- Cristiano Ronaldo hints at retirement at end of season:
– Cristiano Ronaldo suggested that the 2026-27 campaign will likely be the final season of his illustrious playing career, saying he wants to leave football with a “spectacular legacy,” according to an interview released Sunday.
– The five-time Ballon d’Or winner made the remarks in an interview with Vogue ahead of his wedding to longtime partner Georgina Rodriguez, whom he married on Aug. 11, exactly 10 years after the couple first met at a Gucci store in Madrid.
– “This is probably my last year of football, and I want to leave a spectacular legacy,” Ronaldo said. The 41-year-old said he is already planning for life beyond football and looks forward to spending more time with his family after more than two decades at the highest level of the sport. SPACE
Astronomers Baffled by 3 Feeding Supermassive Black Holes Packed Into Early Galaxy When the Universe Was Barely a Billion Years Old:
– Astronomers using the James Webb Space Telescope say that a super distant galaxy appears to contain not one growing black hole, but three– all actively feeding on surrounding matter. Two sit remarkably close together near the galaxy’s center. A third lurks farther out, with an uncertain past and an even less certain future.
– The light from the galaxy in question, known as J0148-4214, has traveled for roughly 12.5 billion years, meaning astronomers see the galaxy as it existed only about 1.15 billion years after the Big Bang. The three black holes range from roughly 600,000 to 80 million times the mass of the Sun. If the interpretation holds, this is the earliest known example of three actively accreting black holes packed into one galactic system. Typically, galaxies have a single supermassive black hole at their galactic core, which gravitationally tethers the stars that form the galaxy. WEST NILE UPDATES
The Nile virus advances in Andalusia: 38 confirmed infections and 24 municipalities on alert: {Trans, summary}
– Four new cases raise to 38 the number of cases of human infections of West Nile virus fever in Andalusia, of which eleven are serious and have led to neuroinvasive diseases. All of them are found in the province of Seville but the presence of the virus detected in mosquito monitoring plans extends the alert to other territories. Thus, there are already 24 municipalities at risk and new locations have been incorporated in Almería and Cádiz.
– The latest four cases detected of the nile virus fever are located in Seville capital, Bollullos de la Mitación, Olivares and Villamanrique de la Condesa.
– Currently, there are 24 Andalusian municipalities with declaration of area on alert distributed throughout the provinces of Seville, Granada, Jaén, Málaga and Cádiz. The latest to join or extend the mandatory period of enforcement in this situation are Algodonales (Cádiz), Las Cabezas de San Juan (Seville), Pulpí (Almería) and Olivares (Seville).
