2nd World Food Truck Festival– Salobreña: Thur-Sun, 3-6 Sept
Venue is Nuevo Parque La Fuente
The venue will feature food trucks specializing in cuisines from around the world, including Cuban, Venezuelan, Italian, Mexican, American, and Argentinian. In addition to the food, the organizers will provide a seating area with tables, chairs, shaded areas, a children’s play area, a bar, cleaning services, and themed decorations.

– Thursday, September 3, the activities will begin at 8pm with a show by Luli Pampín and an appearance by Rumi from the K-Pop Warriors, followed at 9:45pm by a tribute concert to Extremoduro.

Feria de Benaque 2026: Fri – Sun, 4-6 Sept
– Friday, 4 Sept, an evening of entertainment provided by the A-Compás Orchestra, during which the election of Mister and Queens will take place, closing the first day with a DJ session by Rubén Llamas.
– Saturday, 5 Sept, the program continues throughout the day with children’s games, followed by Mass and a procession in honor of Our Lady of the Rosary. In the evening, the A-Compás Orchestra will return to the stage, along with a musical performance by Pitu and a DJ set by Rubén Llamas.
– Sunday, 6 Sept, beginning with a Zumba demonstration by Fran and her students, accompanied by DJ FranZum. At 3:00 PM, a paella will be served to all attendees, followed at 5:00 PM by a performance from El Duelo , featuring Evelyn Ríos and Deeja Worzel.

Ceuta takes the hard line– Authorizes the use of weapons by the military in self-defence: {Trans, summary}
– The Ministry of Defence has activated the protocol that allows military personnel deployed in Ceuta to use firearms in self-defence against possible attacks.
– The decision, confirmed by the Spanish Troops and Seamen Association (ATME), marks a turning point in the State’s response to the growing tension in the autonomous city. The president of ATME, Marco Antonio Gómez, explained that standard-issue rifles and pistols have already been distributed among the patrols, although only one in four or five soldiers will carry a loaded weapon.
– Gómez maintains that the personnel have been demanding adequate resources and a real plan for weeks. “This doesn’t happen overnight,” he points out, insisting that the authorization is late and lacks the necessary guarantees to operate in an increasingly risky environment. The association denounces that the military personnel still lack visible accreditation, a key element to demonstrate their authority in case they have to use force.
Gomez demands that they be given an official badge or identification that avoids legal doubts and allows them to act with legal backing.
– Since the beginning of the migration crisis, ATME has been demanding that the armed forces in Ceuta be recognized as law enforcement officers so they can perform functions currently exclusive to the National Police and Civil Guard, such as identifying migrants and making arrests. ATME has been denouncing for weeks the defencelessness and lack of protection of the soldiers on patrol, who have already suffered several attacks because they are unable to use their service weapons to defend themselves.
– They also emphasize that this prohibition leads undocumented immigrants in Ceuta to disrespect the military: “They know we can’t defend ourselves. This is spread by word of mouth and on social media. They know that if they attack us, nothing happens, whereas if they attack a police officer or a Civil Guard, they are arrested.”

The mayor of Vélez-Málaga leaves the plenary session amid boos after suspending it due to protests over the garbage tax: {Trans}
