Say good-bye to dull wrinkled skin. Embrace smooth, silky skin of your face with a natural glow for the NEW YEAR.
MOONETTE – Organic Skincare for Mature Skin

We are a Torrox-based company specialising in the creation of formulae which help prevent premature skin ageing. We are committed to making effective products at affordable prices.
Your skin health matters to us. How you feed your skin is as important as how you feed your body. Why settle for anything less than natural and organic?
As our skin is the first layer of our defence against microbial infections, ultraviolet radiation and environmental contamination it plays a vital role in our health. As we grow older, however, our skin becomes thinner, wrinkled, and more sensitive; hence it requires the use of treatments containing specific ingredients to the care of treating mature skin.
Recognising this need we have created a range of formulae which help
-slow down ageing process by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
-improve facial complexion and eliminate blemishes.
At Moonette, we are passionate about health, beauty and plants. Your skin will benefit from the properties of botanic essential oils combined with a selection of nutrients for deep hydration, cell revitalization and antioxidant effect, all sourced from the finest natural ingredients with gorgeous fragrances.
Naturally, we care about our planet and feel the need to help reduce the sheer volumes of plastics waste that are generated daily around the globe. Presently, we are minimizing the usage of plastic materials in our production while seeking alternative forms of packaging. To help reduce pollution we are asking all local customers to recycle or reuse their Moonette skincare containers, and offering a small discount on future purchases to customers recycling containers.

COVID

Spain warns of “very considerable” increase in coronavirus infections in China:
{Translation} MADRID, 29 Dec. (EUROPA PRESS)
– The Spanish government has warned that the change in strategy of the Chinese authorities in the face of the COVID-19 pandemic, to a phase of “coexistence” with the virus, has resulted in a “very considerable” increase in infections and a lack of palliative medicines, and has therefore urged people to take these circumstances into account when visiting the Asian giant.
– Since 8 January, China no longer applies quarantines, although tourist visas are still not issued and a negative PCR test carried out at least 48 hours in advance is still required. The Spanish Ministry of Foreign Affairs has recalled in its latest travel alert that “if visiting the country, it is recommended to be up to date with vaccinations”.
– In this sense, it has recalled that “many restrictions” have been reduced or directly eliminated, especially in terms of mobility, and “mass PCR campaigns in urban areas” have been suspended, after the Chinese government applied for almost three years both approaches to stick to the strategy of ‘zero cases’.
– “The authorities are appealing to the population to voluntarily confine themselves to their homes, obtain medication to alleviate the adverse effects of COVID-19 and recover within 5-7 days,” the Foreign Ministry said in its recommendations, updated this week.

SPAIN

DGT explains ways to find hidden fixed speed cameras in Spain:
– The Directorate General of Traffic (DGT) in Spain has over 780 permanent and hundreds of mobiles speed cameras scattered across its roads that are often hidden from view.
– In order to avoid high-speed road accidents, Spain’s DGT has a wide network of fixed and mobile radars across the country that assist in controlling the speed of vehicles while ensuring drivers comply with traffic regulations.
– But despite the fact that anybody can see the position of these cameras on the official DGT website, these devices are frequently out of the drivers’ direct line of sight. Full article: https://euroweeklynews.com/2022/12/29/dgt-explains-ways-to-find-hidden-fixed-speed-radars-in-spain/

MALAGA

Puppet Festival for children – Malaga: {Translation}
– It’s time for activities and free time for the youngest members of the family these days in Malaga. The school holidays provide the opportunity to spend more time with children and they demand different plans, fun and entertainment these days when Christmas reigns supreme. Malaga knows this and its cultural agenda adapts to them, offering a multitude of opportunities for them, such as the Puppet Festival which will be held on 30 and 31 December and 2 January at the Eduardo Ocón venue in the city centre, on Paseo del Parque.
– The Department of Culture of Malaga City Council together with the La Caixa Foundation are organising this Puppet Festival during these three days to end 2022 and start 2023 in the most fun way, with family plans that will delight both young and old. Three different plays, with free access until full capacity is reached, in the Recinto Eduardo Ocón in the Paseo del Parque.
– This Friday 30 December, from 12:00 noon, the Puppet Festival kicks off with the play Christmas at the Bottom of the Sea, which will open this carousel of puppet shows at the Eduardo Ocón venue. A fun Christmas show starring Pitusa, a Pirate Elf who has arrived in Malaga by boat and will have to solve some problems.
– To whet the appetite before New Year’s Eve, on Saturday 31st December at 12:00, the second play, Where are the presents? will be shown, another successful formula in which puppets will delight the little ones as well as adults. The disappearance of the magic gem puts the gift factory in danger one week before the arrival of Christmas?
– Finally, already in 2023, on the 2nd of January from 12:00 hours will take place the play La casa de turrón y mazapán, closing this Festival of puppets in the centre of the city. It tells the story of Turrón and Mazapán, two funny cooking elves who are preparing the big New Year’s Eve dinner. The plays of the Puppet Festival do not require tickets and are free for everyone until the capacity of the Recinto Eduardo Ocón is reached. Russia fires barrage of missiles, Ukraine condemns ‘senseless barbarism’:
– Russia fired scores of missiles into Ukraine early on Thursday, targeting Kyiv and other cities including Lviv in the west and Odesa in the southwest, sending people rushing to shelters and knocking out power in one of Moscow’s largest aerial assaults.
– Ukraine’s military said Russia had launched air and sea-based cruise missiles, anti-aircraft guided missiles and S-300 ADMS at energy infrastructure facilities in eastern, central, western and southern regions. The attacks followed an overnight assault by “kamikaze” drones. Full article: https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/russia-steps-up-kherson-shelling-dismisses-zelenskiys-peace-plan-2022-12-29/

RECALLS

Queso de Cabeza / Head-Cheese / Souse / Brawn / Hoofdkaas / Kopf Käse / Tête Fromage Alert: {Translation}
– The Spanish Food Safety Agency (AESAN) has been notified by the health authorities of the Basque Country about the presence of Listeria monocytogenes in a sausage sold in supermarkets. The product in question is Susaeta cooked pork head meat.
– This alert extends to all batches currently on the market and to the whole product, regardless of its expiry date. According to the information provided by the AESAN, the initial distribution of the products has been in Andalusia and Castile-La Mancha, although they do not rule out distribution in other autonomous communities.
– There is no record of any case associated with this alert in Spain at the moment. However, they reiterate the danger of contagion and recommend that anyone who has this sausage or other products included in the alert at home should refrain from consuming them and return them to the point of purchase.
– In the case of having consumed this product and presenting any symptoms compatible with listeriosis, such as fever, headache, vomiting or diarrhoea, the agency recommends visiting a health centre. The agency also recalls the importance of extreme hygiene measures to avoid cross-contamination with other products. TECH

What are “Data Centers”? How do I get a job there? Free training for high paying technology jobs in Spain at the new data centers: {Translation}
– Data centres are one of the drivers of the new economy, they are key to the process of digitalisation of the economy. In these specialised facilities, communications and company servers are concentrated in order to include the services of the digital economy in a more efficient and sustainable way.
– Of course, these infrastructures are also important for boosting employment. It is estimated that they will be responsible for creating 2,000 new direct skilled jobs in the next four years. And up to 10,000 indirect jobs.
– But what can we study if we want to work in a data centre? Some jobs, especially in the technology sector, are so new that there are no faculties or academies specialising in these skills. This is one of the reasons why there are currently 120,400 unfilled positions in the technology sector, 70% more than last year.
– To alleviate this shortage of professionals, the Spanish Association for Digitalisation (DigitalES) have promoted two free courses that will start in February 2023.
– The initiative will start with two free training itineraries and 17 specialities. Both itineraries will be taught 100% virtually (online) and will have a theoretical and a practical part, during which the operation of real data centres will be emulated.
– The incorporation of training itineraries for cloud-related specialities is already being planned.
***New professional profiles***
– The students, who are recommended to have a background in electronics or mechanics, will be able to specialise in the following two professional occupations:
1.- CPD service technician (around 550 hours).
Assembling and maintaining telecommunications and audiovisual installations, CCTV and electronic security installations, telephone switchboards and voice and data network infrastructures, sound and public address systems, radio installations, automated systems and computer equipment. Installing, configuring and maintaining isolated or networked microcomputer systems.
2.- DPC infrastructure technician (about 710 hours)
Assembling and maintaining infrastructures of low-voltage electrical installations, electrical machines and automated systems, cooling/aircon and ventilation installations, applying current rules and regulations, quality, safety and occupational risk prevention protocols. Pelé, Brazil’s mighty king of ‘beautiful game,’ has died:
– Pelé, the Brazilian king of soccer who won a record three World Cups and became one of the most commanding sports figures of the last century, died Thursday. He was 82.
– The standard-bearer of “the beautiful game” had undergone treatment for colon cancer since 2021. The medical center where he had been hospitalized for the last month said he died of multiple organ failure as a result of the cancer.
– “Pelé changed everything. He transformed football into art, entertainment,” Neymar, a fellow Brazilian soccer star, said on Instagram. “Football and Brazil elevated their standing thanks to the King! He is gone, but his magic will endure. Pelé is eternal!” A funeral was planned for Monday and Tuesday, with his casket to be carried through the streets of Santos, the coastal city where his storied career began, before burial.
