Donations From 4,521 Subscribers = 82 (€2155)

2021 = 80 donors / €2400 (Naythan was paid €1.28/hr for editing 6hrs/day)
2022 Goal = €3745 (Naythan gets €2/hr for editing 6hrs/day)

Fundraiser Update: Just 5 days remaining in the fundraiser.
– To those yet to donate, please help me reach the goal so I can receive €2 per hour for the work I do everyday providing what many consider to be a valuable community asset!
– Thank you to those of you who donated.
– Issues take 6+ hours a day to assemble, 6 days per week.
– Last year’s donations totaled €2400, providing me €46/wk for 36-hour weeks, or €1.28 per hour.
– I am now aiming for the princely sum of €2 per hour, requiring total donations of €3745, the current goal. With hundreds more subscribers than last year, this should be attainable. If the new goal is not reached by January 7th, it’s not the end of the world, but some changes will need to be made. In that case, DigameXtra MAY change to a 5-days-a-week publication schedule, Monday thru Friday only, in mid January. There may also be some minor rules changes to lighten my editing workload. It all depends on the donations received in the next 5 days. It all depends on YOU!

Please Donate Today!

Only FIVE Days Remain in the Holiday Season Fundraiser. If the goal is reached, I will refrain from fundraising until mid-November. If the goal is not reached, there will be another fundraiser this summer.

Advice for banking and local council requests:
Happy new year Digamites!
– We currently bank with Sabdell but find their interests and commissions now quite expensive, any recommendations for non residents please would be appreciated.
– Also there are three jacaranda trees behind our house in a little public square which used to be trimmed regularly, however they have not been trimmed for at least two years and block a lot of sun and light from our terrace, the square is swept daily so still managed. Does anybody have any advice who to contact.

SPAIN

The legal retirement age rises to 66 years and 4 months:
– The legal age to retire as of this Sunday, January 1, is 66 years and four months to be able to receive 100% of the benefit if they are under 37 years and nine months of contributions, according to the reform approved in 2013, which progressively raises the retirement age over 15 years from 65 to 67 years. If they exceed 37 years and nine months of contributions, workers who want to retire with 100% of the pension will have to be 65 years old. In any case, they must have contributed for at least 15 years to be able to access the contributory benefit and two of those years must be among the 15 immediately prior to retirement.
– With this rise, the maximum benefit rises to 3,058 euros, 239 euros more than before. In turn, the minimum contributory pensions have risen between 18 and 113 euros per month, so they are between 743 and 966 euros for those aged 65 or over and between 638 and 905 euros for those under 65. years.
– The average retirement pension becomes 1,367 euros per month, 107 euros more, while the average widow’s benefit rises 66 euros per month. For an average widow’s pension, the increase will be 66 euros. Full article: https://spainsnews.com/the-legal-retirement-age-rises-to-66-years-and-4-months-from-today/

The La Viñuela reservoir remains above 11% thanks to the contributions of the rains of early December: {Translation, summary}
– The La Viñuela reservoir is still in a situation of extreme drought. Specifically, as of 30 December it stands at 11.25% with 18.49 cubic hectometres in storage. A week ago it had 18.34 hectometres, and just a year ago it had 27.57 cubic hectometres of water in storage. The tourist route will begin at the southernmost point of the City of David and end at the Western Wall.
– The pool was reportedly constructed 2,700 years ago, in the eighth century B.C., during the reign of King Hezekiah, who is credited with having “brought water to the city” in 2 Kings 20:20.
– “Due to its importance, the Pool of Siloam was renovated and expanded in the late Second Temple period, some 2,000 years ago,” the IAA’s announcement reads. “It is believed that at this time the pool served as a ‘mikveh’, a ritual bath, for the thousands of pilgrims who converged at the Pool of Siloam before ascending via the City of David to the Temple.” In John 9:1-7, the pool is mentioned as the site where Jesus healed a man born blind and restored his vision.
