Birthday Fun at Minigolf La Herradura:
– Are you searching for an exciting, inexpensive way for your child to enjoy their pronoun-of-choice birthday amongst friends and family just 50 metres from the beach in La Herradura? Why not book at Minigolf where the kids can run free over the grounds learning and playing Minigolf, racquet and lawn games, petanca and whatever else you’d like to bring along.
– Pictured are 30 youngins celebrating a nine year-old’s birthday a couple of weekends ago. Booked from four to six in the afternoon, the parents had to drag them home at eight, they were having so much fun (the kids that is). With 1110 square metres to run around in and so much to do there was no staring at phones and iPads, just old-fashioned outdoor play, ruddy cheeks, and a myriad of mischievous rule interpretations in all sports and games played.
– These events are self-catering though tables, chairs, music and of course all equipment is provided for the astounding price of only for six euros per child 12 and under. (The price for teenagers and adults is 8,50€ per person.) As such, you are welcome to bring your own birthday cake, snacks and drinks saving on food costs in the process. There is a small booking fee depending on the amount of time requested for reserving the entire venue as a private party.
– Parties are available morning, noon or night, the grounds are fully lit, any day of the week. Feel free to ring Scott Huston on +34 603 416 632 with any questions you might have and/or booking availability. Your child and the others are sure to have a whale of a time and be well looked after.
– We could not be easier to find. We are just two streets off the beachfront Paseo Andreás Segovia, directly behind the childrens’ playground, the market, Centro de Salud, and post office. For more information and to see a Google map of our location (contact tab), photos, etc, please visit our website: http://www.minigolflh.es
Hope to see you on the special day, Scott/La Herradura
Keeping it Cool
With summer arriving unexpectedly and demanding attention like a rude party guest, I’ve been scrambling to find a way to keep the area playable during daylight hours. I’m gaining on it, the key word here being mist.
Already in place though is the fact that the entire grounds are fully, tastefully lit from the gloaming on. There is a great Chill Out vibe with “music in the air/and lots of lovin’ everywhere,” as Mr. Benson is wont to croon. We are currently open until 9:00pm but beginning in June that will be extended until 10:00 and we’ll take it from there.

Elrow returns to Malaga this summer and launches its ticket pre-sale- without providing many details: Event is Sat, 19 August. So far very few details are known about what this new party will be like, not even a location; what they do say is an XXL stage, another three normal ones, again more than 30,000 people at the event and around 30 artists who will make up their line up.

MOONETTE – Organic Skincare for Mature Skin

We are a Torrox-based company specialising in the creation of formulae which help prevent premature skin ageing. We are committed to making effective products at affordable prices.
Your skin health matters to us. How you feed your skin is as important as how you feed your body. Why settle for anything less than natural and organic?
As our skin is the first layer of our defence against microbial infections, ultraviolet radiation and environmental contamination it plays a vital role in our health. As we grow older, however, our skin becomes thinner, wrinkled, and more sensitive; hence it requires the use of treatments containing specific ingredients to the care of treating mature skin.
Recognising this need we have created a range of formulae which help
-slow down ageing process by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
-improve facial complexion and eliminate blemishes.
At Moonette, we are passionate about health, beauty and plants. Your skin will benefit from the properties of botanic essential oils combined with a selection of nutrients for deep hydration, cell revitalization and antioxidant effect, all sourced from the finest natural ingredients with gorgeous fragrances.
Naturally, we care about our planet and feel the need to help reduce the sheer volumes of plastics waste that are generated daily around the globe. Presently, we are minimizing the usage of plastic materials in our production while seeking alternative forms of packaging. To help reduce pollution we are asking all local customers to recycle or reuse their Moonette skincare containers, and offering a small discount on future purchases to customers recycling containers.

Podemos proposes 20% tax for the “speculation” of “real estate flipping”, buying and selling apartments in less than 2 years: {Translation, summary}
– Podemos proposes to levy a new tax of 20% of the total purchase price on housing sales transactions that take place before two years have passed since their acquisition and a clear “speculative” purpose is detected.
– The idea of Podemos is, on the one hand, to discourage this practice through the imposition of the new tax and, on the other hand, to increase the collection of public administrations when the ‘flipping’ occurs, thus obtaining more resources to increase the public social housing stock. “If someone wants to speculate, let them do it with diamonds or with shares of technology companies, but not with housing. Houses are to live in, not to speculate and make money,” says the Secretary of Program of Podemos, Pablo Echenique.
– In statements sent to the media, he stresses that “it is enough” that in Spain there are “millions of young people and working families who have problems accessing housing, while others play ‘Monopoly’ with a basic good intended to cover a human right”.

Minister Spokeswoman could be fined between 300 and 3,000 euros for repeatedly violating neutrality before elections: {Translation, summary}
– The sanctioning proceedings that the Central Electoral Board (JEC) has opened against the Government Spokesperson Minister, Isabel Rodriguez, for violating for the third consecutive week her duty of neutrality in the institutional press conferences of Moncloa could end up with a fine of between 300 and 3,000 euros, according to the Electoral Law.
– The JEC explains that it has decided to initiate sanctioning proceedings for the criticisms to the PP in the press conference after the Council of Ministers last week, when she was asked about the reaction of the first opposition party to the exhumation of the remains of José Antonio Primo de Rivera from the Valley of Cuelgamuros.
– The arbitration body recalls that article 50 of the Electoral Law prohibits, from the calling of the elections until they are held, any act organized or financed, directly or indirectly, by the public authorities which contains allusions to the achievements or accomplishments of the administration, in the interest of the duty to maintain the principle of neutrality of the public authorities.
– JEC also urges the removal from the institutional website during the remainder of the electoral period of the statements with which she broke the law, asks her to be extremely diligent to comply in future institutional acts and recalls that “every high official is obliged, during the duration of the electoral period, to be extremely diligent to avoid violating the principle of neutrality”.
– Finally, the JEC questions the allegations made by Isabel Rodriguez that she acted with “will to minimize the impact” of the statements denounced by the PP. The Minister argued that her words were removed from the official website, but the arbitration body found that they were removed this same Wednesday, eight days after making them and five days after the complaint, which concludes that it is “reasonable to estimate that the will to minimize the impact” of her words “has been scarce”.

MALAGA

The Board only plans to incorporate Riogordo into the Metropolitan Transport Consortium in the short term: {Translation, summary}
– The Junta de Andalucía only plans in the short term to incorporate Riogordo, in Axarquia, in the Metropolitan Transport Consortium of the Malaga Area. Thus, the municipalities of Almáchar, El Borge, Moclinejo, Benamargosa and Vélez-Málaga will have to wait for future updates of the plan.
– Socialist deputy Josele Aguilar insisted that these municipalities have been requesting their inclusion for years without any response to this demand in the present or past legislature. Aguilar has used his speech to emphasize the fact that Almáchar, El Borge, Moclinejo, Benamargosa and Vélez-Málaga meet the requirements to be included in the consortium. For the deputy, it is a decision that has to go beyond criteria or technical and economic issues, since there are reasons of territorial cohesion and social justice if we really want to fight against the demographic challenge and depopulation. Impressive peak of the eta Aquarid meteor shower this May 5: {Translation}
– The Aquarid meteor shower, active during April and May, will peak in the pre-dawn hours of May 5. This year it could be particularly impressive with an expected 120-160 meteors per hour, according to NASA.
– Despite the full moon illuminating the sky and eliminating the faint meteors, the Aquarid meteor shower is among the most intense. In terms of fireball production, NASA camera data ranks it number 6 among meteor showers. These bright fireballs are caused by the Earth encountering a dense stream of debris from Halley’s Comet, much of which was ejected more than 3,000 years ago. Moving at 238,000 kilometers per hour, some of these fireballs leave glowing “trains” in their wake that last from several seconds to minutes.
– The Aquarid meteor shower can be seen in both the northern and southern hemispheres, with higher rates of visibility for observers in the southern hemisphere. This is due to the location of the event in the constellation Aquarius. Meteors will be visible after midnight, but peak hours are from 3 to 4 a.m. until dawn. Regardless of geographic location, an area without light pollution is advisable for best viewing. Pic looks way better if you click on it. Flower Moon 2023- You Can’t Miss This Week’s Stunning Full Moon and Eclipse:
– Many North American full Moon names were published decades ago in guides like The Old Farmer’s Almanac. Each full Moon has multiple names since different Native American and colonial groups who came up with them were influenced by a variety of environments and traditions.
– Flower Moon is the Algonquin name given to May’s full Moon. It’s a clear reference to the blooming flowers that are a common and reliable sight during this time of year in North America and many other parts of the world.
– It’s the heart of springtime in the Northern Hemisphere, and this month’s full Moon name bears a clear homage to the season. Called the Flower Moon, it will be at its biggest and brightest on May 5. And if you’re in the right place, you’ll be able to catch a lunar eclipse on the same night, though it’ll take some careful observation to see it.
– Here’s everything you need to know about the Flower Moon, and how to watch the eclipse. Full article: https://www.inverse.com/science/may-2023-flower-moon-how-to-watch

St George’s Church Málaga: We are part of the Church of England in Spain covering the area from Torremolinos in the west to the outskirts of Nerja in the east and to the northern edge of Malaga province.
We have three worship centres, in Velez-Málaga, Málaga city and Salinas. Everyone is welcome to our Sunday services in English, and you can also contact us to enquire about baptisms, marriage blessings, funerals, and house blessings.
Father Louis, our Chaplain, is available for counsel and support, regardless of anyone’s beliefs or background. We aspire to be a welcoming and inclusive community, open to all people seeking faith and friendship.
If you can’t get to church, we live-stream our Sunday services on Facebook, and also gather on Zoom for an informal service on Wednesday mornings.
Sign up for our newsletter by emailing Father Louis at malagachaplain@gmail.com to receive login details, and news of other future events. We look forward to welcoming you and being of service.
