Registration for Fuengirola half marathon opens this week: Fuengirola town hall will open the registration platform for the town’s sixth half marathon on Sunday 14 May. The 21-kilometre race, approved by the Spanish Athletics Federation, will take place on Sunday 12 November, and, once again this year, a five-kilometre route has also been included for those with reduced mobility. Participants of the half marathon must be over 18 years of age, and over 16 for the five-kilometre race. Registration for the main race costs 15 euros, although members of the Fuengirola Athletics Club, and the first 100 runners to sign up, will pay ten euros. Romeria de Teba 2023 Pilgrimage: 12-14 May
– Thursday the 11th the floral offering in honor of San Isidro Labrador takes place starting at 7:30 p.m.
– From noon on Friday 12 begins the Pilgrimage 2023 with the opening of the bars on the esplanade of La Puente, where much of the entertainment will take place. At the musical level, from 23:00 hours acts the group Indiana, with the best of national and international pop rock of the 80s and 90s; at 1:00 turn of Pop FM, covering songs from the 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s. After him, from 2:30 to 6:30 in the morning, local DJs close the party.
– The big day of the pilgrimage is Saturday 13. From 11:00 a.m., the wagons, floats and horse riders begin their journey through the streets of the town on their way to the banks of the Guadalteba River, with rest stops at the Lucero Mill and the esplanade of the Batanes. As on Friday, the music will start at 23:00 hours, with the performance of Esencia, flamenco fusion with pop rock. At 1:00, Calle Botica, with more than a decade on stage, with the best of today and yesterday. Again from 2:30 to 6:30 in the morning, local DJs close the party.
– For Sunday 14, at 12:30 will take place the Romera Mass and from 13:00 acts the children’s group Imagínatelo. At 19:00 Luna de Plata will perform and at 21:00 the Romería de Teba 2023 will come to an end. Nerja Festival of San Isidro Labrador 2023: May 13 to 15
– Sat, 13 May, a concert in the Plaza de España of Nerjeños artists Nuria Fergó and Antonio Cortés will kick off the celebration of the festival. It will be on Saturday, May 13 at 10 p.m. in the evening.
– Sunday, 14 May, eve of the Pilgrimage of San Isidro, in the Plaza of Spain at 22.00 pm the concert of La Húngara (flamenco).
– On May 15, the day of San Isidro, patron saint of farmers, at 11.00 am will take place the Holy Mass in the Church of El Salvador and the offering to the saint enlivened by the choir of the Peña Nerjeña. After its completion, there will be the traditional tribute to the farmers. The pilgrimage will leave at 12.30 pm from the Balcon de Europa to the Hermitage of San Isidro, in the grounds of the Cueva de Nerja. Once there, at approximately 14.30 pm, the senior group of the Municipal School of Music and Dance will perform in honor of the saint. During the afternoon, music and dance will be offered in three areas. In addition to the area for the youth, with performances by DJs and flamenco groups, they will enjoy a picnic of local artists in the enclosure.
