Brussels recommends isolating all areas with an incidence greater than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants: {Translated from https://sevilla.abc.es} Updated: 01/25/2021 18:59
-The European Union has recommended this Monday that all areas be isolated that exceed a cumulative incidence of more than 500 cases per 100,000 inhabitants . In addition, it proposes that member countries recommend that citizens not travel within and outside their borders due to the high incidence of coronavirus.
-The European Commission has proposed to member countries to strengthen the measures to limit travel between areas heavily affected by the pandemic , but without interrupting free movement within the European Union (EU), as well as a package of rules for arriving travellers. to the EU from abroad. As already agreed by the Heads of State or Government last Thursday, the Commission also considers it necessary to strongly discourage non-essential travel.
-The first recommendation is to add the dark red risk maps in addition to the already existing green, orange, red and grey. Dark red is reserved for areas where the virus circulates at very high levels, specifically those where the 14-day notification rate is more than 500 per 100,000 inhabitants .
-For people travelling from a dark red area , Member States should require a test before arrival and also undergo the quarantine recommended by the Health Security Committee and which is currently practised by several Member States. In addition, as countries have increased their testing capacity, they should also be required of travellers leaving areas that are not marked green on the European Center for Disease Control (ECDC) maps, that is, from the orange, red or grey. People returning to their own country or the one in which they reside should be able to have proof as soon as they arrive, even if they do so from outside the EU.
-In dark red areas, countries should strengthen non-pharmaceutical interventions, such as measures to encourage citizens to stay at home and the temporary closure of certain businesses, in addition to strengthening testing and tracing and to increase surveillance and sequencing of the cases.
-With regard to travel from outside the EU , the Commission proposes three specific measures: requiring travelers to undergo a negative PCR test before departure and a requirement for self-isolation, quarantine and contact tracing, as well as additional tests as needed over a period of up to 14 days. If the trip concerns an area where a worrisome variant of the virus has been detected, these measures would be more intense and the quarantine and additional tests would be mandatory. They should also require those entering the EU to submit a Passenger Location Form (PLF), if possible they agree on a common layout of this PLF.
Almost all of Spain “red zone”
-In Spain, most communities register rates much higher than the one named by Brussels. In fact, according to the latest report published by Health, only the Canary Islands, Cantabria, Asturias, Navarra and the Basque Country are below the barrier of 500 cases. Some even double or almost triple this figure . Extremadura has an incidence of 1,448 cases. They are closely followed by Murcia (1,332), Valencian Community (1,245), Castilla y León (1,215), La Rioja (1,208) and Castilla-La Mancha (1,158). The Spanish average stands at 800 cases. Junta activates ‘Plan 7,000′ in Andalucía in the face of ‘the worst data of the pandemic’: Andalucía’s ‘Plan 7,000’ to provide more patient beds and alleviate the pressure of coronavirus on the region’s hospitals will become a reality on Tuesday.
Junta’s spokesman, Elías Bendodo, expressed his deep concern at the “explosive” increase in infections with an “absolutely vertical curve” that has led Andalucía to register “the worst figures of the entire pandemic”, surpassing 7,000 infections this Sunday with 25 deaths and reaching a record number of hospitalisations, with 3,613 admissions, of which 517 are in intensive care. DoctorLaptop’s Tips #86, 26Jan21
-Emoji lovers, did you know Windows 10 has a huge collection of emojis built in? You can even change colors on some of them.
How do you access this “hidden” feature? It could’t be easier! When you are typing an email, document, whatever, and want to insert an emoji, hold down the Windows key (between the Ctrl and Alt keys) and press the period/full-stop key ( . ) . A box will popup where you may view all the emojis. Click the one(s) you want, it will be inserted into whatever you were typing.
-Windows 10 by default has 32 apps that autostart when you power up your computer! That is unnecessary, you can start apps when you need them. Turning off the apps you don’t need running in the background can help speed up your computer. Go to Settings>Privacy>In left side column scroll down and click on Background apps. There you can choose to disable all of them, or pick individually which ones to allow. You probably want to leave on Skype if you use that. I also suggest leaving on Windows Security.

Step 1: Go to Zoom’s Settings menu.

Changes planned this year to rules for overtaking cyclists: Once the changes come into effect drivers will have to leave 1.5 metres or more between their vehicle and the cyclists when overtaking, and the maximum speed when overtaking should be 20km/h below the speed limit for the road. For example, if the speed limit is 90 km/h, the maximum speed for overtaking cyclists is 70 km/h.
At the moment, cyclists can be overtaken at the maximum speed limit for the road while leaving a distance of 1.5 metres.
To do so, as long as it is safe and there are no vehicles coming in the opposite direction, including other bicycles, it is OK to go over a solid white line. Full article: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2021/01/26/changes-planned-this-year-to-rules-for-overtaking-cyclists/

Apple warns that iPhone 12 handset could be dangerous for some users: Apple has issued an extended warning that the additional magnets found in iPhone 12, iPhone 12 mini, iPhone 12 Pro, iPhone 12 Pro Max as well as MagSafe accessories could pose a risk to people with pacemakers and defibrillators.
The company had previously acknowledged the potential for the magnets to interfere with certain implanted medical equipment, but has now gone further in explaining the risk and offering advice.
