Mini PCs: I have sold out of all the Mini PCs. I am expecting more by the end of the week, or early next week. Computers are in short supply in most of the world as Covid restrictions block deliveries from China. If you need a new computer, these Mini PCs are the only affordable option at the moment, and as the demand for Mini PCs rises, so do the prices. The models I just reordered now cost me €50 more than just a month ago! DoctorLaptop, Torrox Costa.

Andalusia adds 2,902 coronavirus infections and confirms that the third wave falls sharply: {Translated from sevilla.abc.es}
Updated: 08/02/2021 18:00
-Andalusia has added this Monday 2,902 coronavirus infections. This figure is confirmation that the third wave of the pandemic is already falling hard. This is the first time that the community recorded less than 3,000 cases in one day since January 12, a month ago. It is also the best Monday since the beginning of last month.
-In addition, according to the president of the Junta, Juanma Moreno, the incidence rate in Andalusia has fallen to 776 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants. This represents a reduction of 200 points, since this indicator reached over 900 in the community.
-The evolution of the third wave is good, although Moreno has insisted on asking for caution since the numbers are still very high. However, both the number of infections and the incidence rate are falling.
-In addition, the number of hospitalized patients is also decreasing. Although this Monday there has been an increase of 55 in those hospitalized for coronavirus -Mondays tend to add hospitalized although the general trend is downward-, since a week ago Andalusia has reduced by 566 those hospitalized for Covid-19.
Thus, the community has gone from 4,980 -the peak of hospital pressure of this third wave, which occurred on February 2 last year- to 4,414 this Monday. This is a decrease of almost 17 percent in healthcare pressure.
-The improvement in the health situation is corroborated by the fact that the number of people hospitalized in the ICU is also dropping. In the succession of events that the pandemic entails, first the number of infections falls -something that was already noticeable last week-, then the number of hospitalized patients falls -which has also happened- and then the number of ICUs. Today there are 717 Andalusians in intensive care, 18 less than yesterday, Sunday.
-Once these three milestones have been passed -contagions, hospitalized and ICU-, the next step will be the decrease in deaths. But that is something that is not expected to happen soon. Although 53 deaths have been added this Monday, Mondays are a day where fewer deaths are usually reported than the rest of the week, when those numbers rise. DoctorLaptop’s Tips #88- Early Solid State Drives (SSD) Reaching End Of Life:
SSDs have been around for over 10 years now, but only began widespread use about 5 years ago. SSDs have an expected life span of 5 to 6 years. Thus people who were early to adopt SSDs find their SSDs are beginning to fail. Once they go bad it is nearly impossible to do any type of data recovery, unlike on the older style Hard Disk Drives (HDD) where data recovery is often possible after the HDD begins to fail. SSD users need to do regular backups of their important data for this reason. If you have neglected to do this, and your SSD is passing the 5 year mark, now is the time to get an external memory device, or cloud account with sufficient data storage space, and begin to do backups regularly. How often depends on how often you add new data. Casual users can probably get away with backing up once every 2 weeks; businesses that add important documents daily, they should have a daily, incremental update (just newly saved data added to the older backup) scheduled for the end of every business day, as well as a full system backup monthly.
Fake Tax Advisor ‘Swindled Widow out of €52,510’ in Malaga: The alleged crime was reported in November 2020 after an elderly widow claimed a man offered to help her manage her husband’s inheritance following his death in April 2019.
According to police, the 43-year-old Spanish man posed as a tax advisor offering fake help to a widow before finally stealing thousands of Euros in Malaga.
Officers from the National Police say the man is guilty of fraud and misappropriation and are now investigating another person who they say helped him. Full article: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2021/02/08/fake-tax-advisor-swindled-widow-out-of-e52510-in-malaga/
Police warn of spiked food which could endanger animals: Police in the Benajarafe and Valle Niza areas of Malaga have warned dog owners of food being left on the floor which could be dangerous to their pets if they eat it.
Images were shared by the police on social media showing pieces of sausages which had been pierced with pins, which were found in those areas.
They have warned people to be very careful when walking their dogs and if they see anything which could be dangerous to animals or other people, call 092.
The Axarquia is not the only area in Malaga to have reported this sort of activity, as several towns along the Costa del Sol have shared situations on social media in which traps have been set or food has been left out which can injure colonies of feral cats or endanger dogs even if they are being walked on leads by their owners. Another frequently reported issue is sulphur being put on walls, which can also be dangerous to animals. PHOTO:Policia Axarquia,Facebook.
