Easter Holiday Info for Andalucia:
There is some confusion over the “holiday bridges” and which of these will be “bank holidays”.
Will Easter Sunday will “bridge” to a bank holiday on Easter Monday? Most sources say yes.
Does Palm Sunday “bridge” to make Monday March 29th a holiday? No sources mention this.
If anyone has a definitive source with accurate bank holiday info, please send me the link to it.
So far, this is what I have found.
-March 28, Palm Sunday
-April 1, La festividad del Jueves Santo (Maundy Thursday)
-April 2, El Viernes Santo (Good Friday)
– April 4, Easter Sunday
-April 5, Easter Monday

Andalusia returns to 1,000 coronavirus cases per day unable to leave the plateau: {Translated from sevilla.abc.es} Updated 24/03/2021 13:28
-Andalusia has once again reached a thousand cases of coronavirus infection. On Wednesday, the region reported 1,032 cases, a figure very similar to the one reported on the same day last week, when 955 positive cases were recorded. The evolution of the pandemic continues to draw a curve that meanders in growth and very slight drops in the data.
-In any case, the weeks in this plateau in which the community is installed do not seem to change. Monday and Tuesday around 500 cases and on Wednesday back to 1,000. This is also what is happening this week, which is good because it means that the dreaded fourth wave has not arrived. But it is bad at the same time because this stagnation of data occurs when the pandemic data are high and hospital occupancy is still above a thousand people.
-Where there does seem to be a slight improvement is in the number of deaths from the coronavirus. The Consejería de Salud y Familias has reported 22 deaths from Covid-19, half as many as on the same day last week. This was also the case yesterday, when 41 deaths were reported, half the 82 reported on Tuesday of the previous week.
-It seems that the community has found a floor in the number of deaths. It would make sense because it is in this parameter that the downward curve is finally noticeable. After having stabilised in terms of infections, admissions and the cumulative incidence rate, the plateau could also be reached in the number of deaths caused by the pandemic.
-Because the cumulative incidence, like the number of positives, has remained unchanged at around 120 cases per 100,000 inhabitants for weeks. Today it is 119, but yesterday it was 120. A week later the same thing is happening and Andalusia has not managed to drop below 50 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
*Hospitalised by Covid*
-In hospitals, meanwhile, the rate of reduction of hospital admissions is increasingly slower. In fact, this Wednesday there have only been 21 discharges, the lowest figure for a Wednesday in many weeks. Thus, today there are 1,060 hospitalised due to coronavirus.
-In the ICU, according to data from the Department of Health and Families, the situation is also slowing down. This Wednesday, 259 people have been reported admitted to intensive care, only one less than yesterday.

Spain lifts UK flight restrictions from 30 March: Spain will lift the restrictions imposed since the end of December on flights from the United Kingdom on 30 March, although it will maintain the restrictions for those arriving from Brazil and South Africa in order to prevent the entry of coronavirus variants from these countries.
The existing restrictions mean that flights from any airport in the United Kingdom to any Spanish airport – with or without intermediate stops – can only carry Spanish or Andorran nationals, or legal residents in Spain or Andorra.
Now, in theory, with the lifting of the Spanish restrictions UK tourists could also come to Spain, and not just residents.
However, the British Government has announced measures to the contrary and Health Minister Matt Hancock has indicated that from next week fines of up to £5,000 (6,000 euros) could be imposed on Britons travelling abroad for holidays and without “good reason”. The penalty is included in legislation that will be voted on by MPs on Thursday. Full article: http://www.surinenglish.com/national/202103/23/spain-lifts-flight-restrictions-20210323172234.html

Spain’s tourism sector fears that government aid will arrive so late that it will have no effect this summer: Employers have also demanded that the ERTE furlough scheme be extended until the end of the year and layoffs be allowed: “I prefer an operating company with eight workers than a shut down one with 10,” said the CEOE trade body president. Merkel Asks Forgiveness As Easter Virus Plan Falls Apart: German Chancellor Angela Merkel on Wednesday admitted a failed Easter virus shutdown plan was “my mistake” and asked the public to forgive her, in a rare climbdown amid massive criticism of the government’s pandemic response.
Merkel and the leaders of Germany’s 16 states had agreed at marathon talks on Monday that almost all shops were to be closed on April 1-5, with only grocers allowed to open on Saturday April 3.
But they decided at a crisis meeting called by Merkel on Wednesday to scrap that measure, instead appealing to the public to stay home over the Easter weekend. Full article: https://www.ibtimes.com/merkel-asks-forgiveness-easter-virus-plan-falls-apart-3168368

Hundreds of fleeceware apps on Google and Apple stores:
Fleeceware apps aren’t technically malware as they don’t contain malicious code, steal data, or attempt to hijack devices. This allows them to circumvent the Play Store and App Store vetting processes. What they do have, however, is obscenely high subscription fees.
Most of these apps entice people into signing up by offering a three-day free trial. Once that ends, users are charged a high, recurring fee. The makers rely on people forgetting to cancel or assuming that uninstalling the app will stop the charges.
The apps are predominantly related to astrology, horoscopes, musical lessons, photo/filter software, QR/PDF scanners, and video editing. While they do tend to perform their primary functions, similar and usually better alternatives are available for free or at a low, one-off price. Most fleeceware charges users between $4 to $12 per week, though this can reach $66 per week in some cases, equalling $3,432 per year.
As they aren’t malware, the apps can advertise on social networks, making them appear more credible, especially to younger users.
What to do if you have installed fleeceware? Once the test is over, users are charged a recurring subscription fee, even if they have removed the app, until they unsubscribe in their device’s app store settings.
How to avoid getting tricked into installing rouge apps?
Although subscriptions are frequent in app stores, Avast recommends “be careful” with applications that offer free trials for very short periods, for example, less than a week.
These ‘fleeceware’ ‘apps’ are actively advertised on major social networks such as Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok. Therefore, above all, it is advisable to maintain “skepticism” with the viral ads of applications.
Also, it is important to read the fine print. “A closer look it will probably reveal the true price of the application “, they indicate from the cybersecurity company. It is advisable to pay” special attention “to the section ‘Purchases within the application’.
And make sure that the payment methods used are blocked by a password or a biometric security system. “This can also avoid accidental subscriptions by children “, conclude from Avast.
