DIGAMEXTRA NEEDS YOUR SUPPORT !!!
It’s business as usual on the Internet, and Internet services bills must still be paid! There is no sponsor income during the lockdown. From the beginning of lockdown I put all sponsor accounts on hold until they can operate again. So, businesses and readers, please consider making a donation or becoming a DigameXtra Sponsor to help pay the production expenses and WordPress bills. Email for sponsorship info. You can join the Sponsor list and be rewarded with extra posting privileges. Donations of cash or your old but working computers, tablets or smartphones graciously accepted. You may drop these off at the DigameXtra office in Torrox Costa, but please call before coming over, 675 993 069. Or I can meet you at the Torrox Costa Lidl or Aldi or tobacco shop near the bus station if that makes it easier for you. Another possibility is to buy Amazon gift cards online and have them emailed to me at the submission email address. You can send these from Amazon ES or Amazon UK. Sorry, no bank or Paypal. Donations are not tax deductable. Thank you.
A big THANKS for the generous Amazon gift card donation from J.C. in Friggy
Restaurant & Market Deliveries and Open Services
If your business is allowed to operate during the lockdown, send in your details for inclusion to let Readers know. If you know for certain a restaurant is still delivering (none should be offering take-away at this point), have them send in the details including Name of Restaurant, Location, Phone Number, Hours and a photo of their menu (optional). Unfortunately I have received some inaccurate info from well meaning 3rd parties which has caused problems. So now these businesses must submit their own posts, although I will in this case allow them to post even if they are not subscribers. -Ed.

Squatters in ex-pats Apartments: Just thought I’d bring your attention to the fact that the photo illustrating your link to the EuroWeekly ‘news’ item about squatters in Malaga and their eviction is not related to any event that may or may not have happened. It is from an eviction in Asturias years ago. https://www.ibtimes.co.uk/spains-social-housing-eviction-crisis-1471813
Maybe you can advise your readers of that. As you say fake news is everywhere.
It is also interesting that there are no people called Willow that I can find anywhere in the UK. Supposedly they are from Halesowen so you might imagine that unusual surname would appear in some town or city around there. But no. How strange.

Endesa 15% Discount: Has anyone managed to successfully lodge their request for this discount? I tried yesterday, having seen the lead on Digame, but the Ensa site is just unhelpful, whether in English or Spanish.
Request is there ok, but Campaigns just isn’t. Hitting the Request Discount button in the explanatory article, even after signing in, got me nowhere.
Too much to expect Endesa to actually be helpful, as usual?

Spain’s prime minister announces coronavirus deescalation measures (Planned, NOT YET CONFIRMED -Ed.) :
The transition to a “new normality” will last six to eight weeks, explains Pedro Sánchez, with continuing restrictions on travel to other provinces and Spanish islands.
Phase 0, he said, will begin on May 4, and will involve the reopening of small businesses such as restaurants that can offer food to take away, and places that can take bookings. This will include establishments such as hardware stores, government sources cited as an example. Customers would have to call and make an appointment to be able to buy a particular product. Only one customer would be permitted in the premises at a time and would be served by a sales clerk behind a screen or a counter. Spain pays tribute to Michael Robinson, hero of football commentary:
Liverpool’s former Republic of Ireland striker Michael Robinson, who became a well-known commentator in Spain, has died aged 61, his family announced on Tuesday, prompting an outpouring of tributes. Robinson, who settled in Spain after his playing career and had an award-winning media career, succumbed to cancer that was first diagnosed in 2018. He passed away at his home in Marbella. SCAM ALERT– Spain police warning on too good to be true cybercrime scam: This latest con doing the rounds on the web promises a refund and asks for a bank account number.
“You have an outstanding refund of €267.89”, the message says, telling the recipient to “verify your account by introducing your ID and SMS verification.”
Potential victims are then invited to click on a link “to confirm the reimbursement.”
The police have put out several alerts about the number of these kinds of online swindles which have appeared since the start of the coronavirus crisis and called for extra caution on receiving messages from an unknown sender. WhatsApp boosts from 4 to 8 the number of participants on videocalls: The popular messaging platform WhatsApp, owned by Facebook, on Tuesday increased from four to eight the number of people who can participate in a videocall, the move coming at a time when the app is losing ground to other competitors such as Zoom and Google Hangout.
The reigning mobile messaging app said that to be able to move beyond the previous limit of four participants, all mobile phones taking part in the call will have to have the most recent version of WhatsApp installed and the videocall will have to be initiated by a friendship group that already exists on the app as a video or voice call to which more people will be added.
European doctors warn rare kids’ syndrome may have virus tie: Doctors in Britain, Italy, and Spain have been warned to look out for a rare inflammatory condition in children that is possibly linked to the new coronavirus.
Earlier this week, Britain’s Paediatric Intensive Care Society issued an alert to doctors noting that, in the past three weeks, there has been an increase in the number of children with “a multi-system inflammatory state requiring intensive care” across the country. The group said there was “growing concern” that either a COVID-19 related syndrome was emerging in children or that a different, unidentified disease might be responsible. Lithuanian capital to be turned into vast open-air cafe: Vilnius gives public space to bars and cafes to allow physical distancing during lockdown. Lithuania’s capital, Vilnius, has announced plans to turn the city into a vast open-air cafe by giving over much of its public space to hard-hit bar and restaurant owners so they can put their tables outdoors and still observe physical distancing rules. Microsoft decrees that all high-school IT teachers were wrong: Double spaces now flagged as typos in Word. Finally, Microsoft found time to weigh in on the age-old debate of just how many spaces belong after a full stop (or “period”). Thanks to an update, Word will apparently treat two spaces as a typo and festoon a double-spaced document with red, squiggly lines unless told to ignore the rule. Lovely poem – author unknown (very relatable – could have been written by a few of us! Sent by Sylvia)
I’m normally a social girl, I love to meet my mates.
But lately with the virus here, We can’t go out the gates.
You see, we are the ‘oldies’ now. We need to stay inside
If they haven’t seen us for a while. They’ll think we’ve upped and died.
They’ll never know the things we did, Before we got this old
There wasn’t any Facebook, So not everything was told.
We may seem sweet old ladies, Who would never be uncouth
But we grew up in the 60s -, If you only knew the truth!
There was sex and drugs and rock ‘n roll, The pill and miniskirts
We smoked, we drank, we partied, And were quite outrageous flirts.
Then we settled down, got married, And turned into someone’s mum,
Somebody’s wife, then nana, Who on earth did we become?
We didn’t mind the change of pace, Because our lives were full
But to bury us before we’re dead, Is like a red rag to a bull!
So here you find me stuck inside, For 4 weeks, maybe more
I finally found myself again, Then I had to close the door!
It didnt really bother me, I’d while away the hour
I’d bake for all the family, But I’ve got no bloody flour!
Now Netflix is just wonderful, I like a gutsy thriller
I’m swooning over Idris, Or some random sexy killer.
At least I’ve got a stash of booze, For when I’m being idle
There’s wine and whiskey, even gin, If I’m feeling suicidal!
So let’s all drink to lockdown, To recovery and health
And hope this bloody virus, Doesn’t decimate our wealth.
We’ll all get through the crisis, And be back to join our mates
Just hoping I’m not far too wide, To fit through the flaming gates!

The Spanish government has a hotline to answer all queries from Brits living in Spain about the implications of Brexit, in English. Callers can ring 060 when in Spain or +34 902 887060 if calling from abroad and an automated system will offer the choice of either Spanish or English.
You will then be offered a choice of information on the different issues.
The service also offers the option of speaking to an operator for those requiring further information or with a specific query not dealt with by the automated options. Source: https://www.thelocal.es/20200218/spain-launches-dedicated-brexit-hotline
