CORRECTION, with photo now– Refugio de Leo: I would like to recommend that anyone interested in the welfare of our canine companions and who may be interested in offering some help to Antonio and his helpers at the Refugio de Leo, situated between Velez Malaga and Arenas, as championed by Scott from SPW Construction Services in last weeks DigameXtra. All roads are surfaced, so there is no problem with any off road driving. See Google map ping here: https://maps.google.com/?q=36.806229,-4.077485
Scott and his team from SPW Construction Services spent this past weekend laying a floor in one of the kennels and will be doing more work over the next couple of weekends.
Antonio, who runs Refugio de Leo, would welcome any assistance and/or donations that any of us Digame-ites might be able to offer – from cleaning and maintenance to dog walking (see collage), or donations of food, old blankets, etc. The area for walking the dogs is manageable with all roads being surfaced for those who cannot clamber through the wilds! Have a look at their site on: http://www.elrefugiodeleo.com/
Antonio can be contacted directly on mob: +34 654 427 202
Or call Scott from SPW who is happy to liaise on mob: +34 622 938 440
My wife, Sue and I, had a wonderful time walking some of the dogs this past Sunday. The weather was lovely, the stroll a nice gentle bit of exercise and the views wonderful, not to mention the beautiful, friendly and happy canines. Please consider helping out in any way that you feel you can. It would be very much appreciated.
Thanks in advance, Keith, Torre del Mar.

Covid Spain- The incidence of the virus falls eight points in a single day: {Translation} Updated: 05/05/2021 20:01
-The incidence (AI) of the virus dropped eight points in a single day and now stands at 205.52 cases per one hundred thousand inhabitants. The drop is due to the elimination of 1,273 duplicate cases from Castilla y León. The same happened on Tuesday with the data for Catalonia. In addition, 6,317 new infections and have been registered 167 deaths , 61 more than the previous day.
-Six communities and the city of Melilla continue to be at extreme risk due to the transmission of the virus, registering an incidence greater than 250 positives per 100,000 inhabitants. This is the case of the Basque Country (478), Madrid (329), Navarra (313), Melilla (327), Aragón (297), La Rioja (283) and Catalonia (253).
-The occupancy of beds in ICUs also decreased. In the last 24 hours, that percentage has gone from 22.89 percent on Tuesday to 22.25 percent. However, five regions and the cities of Ceuta (35.29%) continue with a very high occupancy of more than 25 percent. These are Madrid (41.95%), La Rioja (35.85%), the Basque Country (38.16%), Catalonia (35.19%) and Aragon (31.30%).
-The positivity rate of the tests carried out remains below 10 percent in all the autonomous communities. Aragon and Madrid are the regions with the highest positive rate: 9.95 percent and 8.70, respectively. These are the municipalities of the province of Malaga closed perimeter due to extreme risk of Covid: {Translation, summary} Updated: 05/05/2021 20:11
-According to the report sent by Health, from next morning the towns of Alfarnatejo, Almáchar, Cuevas del Becerro, Periana, Sierra de Yeguas, Villanueva de Tapias and Yunquera will be closed perimetrically. It will not be possible to enter or leave the municipal area except for justified reasons, although the activity of non-essential commerce and the hotel and catering trade will continue.
-Businesses will continue with their shutters down in Alfarnate, which has not yet managed to reduce its infection rate sufficiently. The accumulated incidence (AI) in this town is currently 1,314, 6 cases per 100,000 inhabitants.
-The municipality of Cuevas del Becerro also exceeds the 1,000 infection barrier, but it is one of the Andalusian towns in which the Junta has established specific measures because it has less than 5,000 inhabitants. For the next seven days it will be subject to the perimeter closure, but not to the cessation of activity in shops.
-With today’s meeting, the committee is cancelling the measures currently in place. The new measures will take effect at 00:00 on Thursday 6 May and the committee will review them again next week.
-The health districts of Malaga, Valle del Guadalhorce, Serrania, Costa del Sol, La Vega, and Axarquia remain at health alert level 2, with the exception of the municipalities of Cuevas del Becerro (Serrania) and Alfarnate (Axarquia), which are at level 4 degree 2. Those aged 57 to 59 years old can now make an appointment for their first Covid jab: From this Wednesday, 5 May, people in Andalucía born in 1962, 1963 and 1964 (who are currently 57, 58 or 59 years old), can request an appointment for their first Covid-19 jab.
The Junta de Andalucía’s Ministry of Health said the request must be made through ClicSalud +, the Salud Responde mobile phone app, or the Salud Responde telephone number 955 54 50 60.
Likewise, the call for those born in 1953 and previous years (68 years of age or older) initiated on 28 April is also maintained. Full article: http://www.surinenglish.com/national/202105/05/those-aged-years-make-20210505183430.html

How to find the Covid vaccination certificate in the Andalusian health app: {Translation, note: the online translators struggled with this one, this is the best I could come up with. -Ed.} Updated: 05/05/2021 14:39
There are three ways to obtain this ‘covid passport’ or vaccination card:
-Requesting it from the general practitioner
Patients who have received both vaccinations can ask their doctor for a document certifying that they have received both vaccinations. The doctor will be able to issue a paper certificate containing the applicant’s personal details as well as details of the doses received against the coronavirus.
-Through ClicSalud+
This web platform of the Regional Ministry of Health is used, among many other things, to request medical documentation. So, the first step is to access the URL of the page.
The second step is to enter, in the section HEALTH, in the area where it says VACCINATIONS.
There, you can access your vaccination history.
-Downloading the Health app
The first thing to do is to download the “Salud Andalucía” web application through the app store on your phone or tablet. Secondly, go to the section “Get your Covid-19 vaccination certificate”. Finally, you can access your vaccination data using the key or certificate.
-This Covid-19 vaccination certificate was devised with the aim of offering certain privileges of mobility and attendance at major events to Andalusians who have already been fully vaccinated. It will be in June when the European Union will impose its own ‘green certificate’, designed precisely to encourage mobility within the European territory and gradually resume economic activity.

WHO Vaccine Reaction Database Shows 660,733 Recorded Adverse Reactions To The AstraZenica Covid-19 Vaccine: {By Naythan}
The trade name for the AstraZenica Covid-19 vaccine is Vaxzevria. If you visit the VigiAccess website (http://www.vigiaccess.org/), which is maintained by the WHO (World Health Organization), and then enter the name Vaxzevria, you will see a list of all the recorded adverse reactions listed, 660,733 of them! And mostly in the EU! Remember, you must enter the exact “trade name” of the drug you are searching.
On the website lists, click on a category to see the specific reaction list in detail. I have included 2 pics of the general categories with the numbers of reports, and another pic of the Eye Disorder specific reactions (22,519 of them!) and number of each reported. Click the pic to open enlarged version in a new tab.

The Government will implement tolls on all highways in 2024: {Translation} Updated: 05/05/2021 18:28
-Three years. This is the deadline the government has given itself to implement a pay-per-use model on Spain’s high-capacity network (motorways and dual carriageways). In the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan sent to Brussels on Wednesday, the government not only addresses this policy, but also assumes that it will push ahead with the measure, which will be included in the future mobility law.
-The government stresses that this toll system “means moving towards the internalisation of the external costs of transport under the principle of charging the user ‘user pays’ and also the ‘polluter pays’ principle”. The intention with this system is to pay for the maintenance of the state road network. The government explains that of the 24,466 kilometres of the state road network, 12,000 kilometres belong to high-capacity roads. This generates growing costs that “cannot be assumed directly by budgetary resources” and a maintenance deficit that results in a loss of value. For this reason, the government plans to cover this maintenance with new tolls.
-The document also details that in “the case of heavy goods vehicles authorised for the transport of goods by road, the necessary regulatory conditions will be promoted so that the cost of this measure is assumed by the shippers”. Even so, he assures that the matter will be discussed with professional hauliers “with the aim of reaching an agreement with them” in order to avoid conflicts such as those experienced in France.
-For private individuals, the government plans “a campaign to raise awareness of the need for this measure, aimed at making both hauliers and the general public aware of the need for reform”. With this system and “affordable fares”, the government aims to combat “the initial rejection” that it understands the measure will generate. Reductions or discounts are also being considered for certain groups, such as low-income or regular drivers.
-The plan, however, is ambitious. It does not stop at motorways and dual carriageways, but is intended to be extended to the entire road network. The government is looking for a scalable and progressive pay-per-use system. The Association of Infrastructure Conservation and Operation Companies (Acex) argues that a toll of between 3 and 5 cents on average would be enough to put an end to the 8 billion euro deficit already accumulated by road maintenance.
-The government plans to raise the mobility law so that the Council of Ministers can give it a “first reading” before June. The regulation, however, would not be approved before the second half of 2023. Transport has always appealed for consensus with the rest of the political forces in order to move forward with the law, which has an obvious political cost for the government.
-In addition to the tolls, the government has designed an ambitious plan for investment in Cercanías (commuter trains), financed with European funds and endowed with 1,619 million euros until 2026. The bulk of the investment will be borne by Adif, which will invest 1,502 million euros mainly to improve tracks and stations in Madrid, Catalonia, the Basque Country, Valencia, Galicia, Asturias, Cantabria and Andalusia. The government also promises to electrify 100% of the network.
-“The ultimate objective of this line of investment is to maximise the use of collective rail Cercanías transport services, mainly by reducing the use of private vehicles in urban and metropolitan environments, and consequently polluting missions,” explains the text, which recalls that the Cercanías were used by 443 million passengers in 2019.

Holidaymakers are to be given Covid screening packs to use abroad as Foreign Office hints at ‘green list’… but you’ll still have to pay £50 for gold standard one in UK: Whitehall sources told the Mail that fast-turnaround tests would be made available free of charge to people travelling abroad to cut the hassle and expense of getting a pre-return test in a foreign country.
However, in a decision that will dismay the travel industry, people returning from abroad will still have to pay for a gold-standard PCR test when they get home, at a cost of at least £50 each. ‘Weather Alert’- could see widespread rain to Spain this weekend: The culprit – which will arrive after several days of summer-like high temperatures that will touch on 30 degrees – will be an explosive cyclogenesis, a rapid drop in pressure – situated north of the Azores. The storm, which could be named ‘Mathieu’, will leave widespread rains in the mainland on Sunday, according to Meteored. Peloton recalls treadmills, halts sales, after a child dies: Peloton is recalling about 125,000 of its treadmills, less than a month after denying they were dangerous and saying it would not pull them from the market, even though they were linked to the death of a child and injuries of 29 others. The company said Wednesday that it will now offer full refunds for the Peloton Tread+ treadmills, which cost more than $4,200. It will also stop selling them. Football News- Expanded squad limit of 26 players at Euro 2020 is confirmed with UEFA also allowing teams to replace players who get injured or contract Covid-19: Each country playing at Euro 2020 this summer will be allowed a squad of 26 and will be able to replace players who test positive for Covid-19 up until their first match.
UEFA has confirmed the increase in squad numbers from the usual 23 players to 26 in light of the tournament being played in extraordinary circumstances amid the pandemic.
The expanded squads will ease the situation if one or more players within the camp test positive for coronavirus and have to self-isolate during the finals, which begin on June 11.
