Lateral Flow Tests for flights to England: I am returning to England in a few weeks and need a Lateral Flow Test 72 hours or less before the flight. Farmacia Monllor in Avenida Moscatel, Torre del Mar is offering them at just under €20 per person, which is cheaper than the private clinics (around €50) or Malaga Airport (around €25) I am assured by Farmacia Monllor that the service they provide and the fit-to-fly certificate they issue conforms to all UK government requirements but am wondering if anyone can confirm this from personal experience, or from the experience of any visitors they’ve had. I don’t want to be turned away at check-in! Caroline, Velez Malaga

The government extends until November the ban on cutting off electricity, water and gas and the anti-eviction decree: {Translation, summary}
-The anti-eviction decree and the ban on basic supplies to vulnerable families will remain in force until at least November. Government sources confirm that the Council of Ministers to be held next Tuesday will approve the extension until 31 October of the decree that includes these measures and others deployed in an extraordinary way in housing, such as the possibility for landlords in vulnerable situations to request a moratorium on rent when the landlord is a company or a large landlord.
-The law prohibits the eviction of families considered vulnerable by social services, and there is only one scenario in which evictions can be carried out: the landlord must be a small owner and the autonomous community must provide alternative housing for the affected party. If the administration is not able to rehouse the family, the family should be able to stay in their residence even if they cannot pay for it, and in such a case the state provides the landlord with compensation.
-The protection is greater if the landlord is a company or a landlord of more than ten dwellings, as in that case the rule automatically suspends the eviction if the family can prove their vulnerability.
– The fine print includes a veto on cutting off electricity, water and gas to families considered vulnerable by social services. The decree also prohibits cutting off basic supplies to “those consumers who meet the condition of vulnerable consumer, severely vulnerable or at risk of social exclusion”.
-The measures relating to renting will also be extended beyond 9 August. Tenants whose rental contract expires before 31 October will be able to ask their landlord to extend it for a maximum period of six more months under the same conditions. The landlord will be obliged to do so, unless he agrees different terms with the tenant.
-If the landlord is a large landlord (an individual or company with more than 10 flats), the tenant has other options. If the tenant has lost all or part of his job, his income does not exceed 1,613 euros per month and the rent, together with basic utilities, takes up more than 35% of his income, he can apply for a deferment of the rent. Alicante residents mistakenly jabbed with serum not Pfizer vaccine: Alicante residents who were mistakenly jabbed with serum not the Pfizer vaccine are set to receive a third dose of the Pfizer vaccine, to make sure that they are fully vaccinated.
This means that some of the Alicante residents will become the first people in Spain to receive a third jab of the Pfizer vaccine. This is something which is being considered for the general population at the moment.
Spain’s regional Ministry of Health have recalled about 30 people in Spain’s Alicante who received the second dose of the Pfizer coronavirus vaccination in Biar in Alicante. Sadly 12 of them were mistakenly given serum only. The shocking mistake was spotted at the end of the day when alarm bells rang and health staff realised that a mistake had been made. They discovered that 12 doses were not diluted correctly. Full article: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2021/07/29/alicante-residents-mistakenly-jabbed-with-serum-not-pfizer-vaccine/

Junta hits the 10 million coronavirus jab milestone: The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, announced this Thursday (29 July) on his Twitter account that the region has already administered its 10 millionth dose of a Covid-19 vaccine. Moreno confirmed that 3 out of 4 people in Andalucía, over 12 years old, have had at least one dose of a vaccine. (These claims have been challenged by some of Moreno’s political opponents, who claim the numbers are inflated for political reasons. -Ed.) Curfew News- Alcaucín and Sayalonga will not have a curfew despite their high rate of contagion: {Translation, summary} Updated: 29 July 2021, 9:00
-Neither Alcaucín nor Sayalonga will have a curfew for exceeding the Covid-19 infection incidence rate of over 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. This has been decided this Wednesday by the territorial committee of Public Health of High Impact in Malaga, as both towns have a population of less than 5,000 inhabitants. Alcaucín with 1,316.4 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and Sayalonga with 1,211.7, are the municipalities of Axarquia with the worst Covid-19 incidence rate of the last 14 days.
-In the case of Alcaucín, this municipality has reported up to 30 new infections in the last week and has 31 active cases of coronavirus. Sayalonga has reported 16 new cases in the last seven days and has 22 active cases.
-In the province of Malaga, therefore, only the municipalities of Estepona and Marbella will see their freedom of movement restricted at night from 2.00 to 7.00 hours, as they have exceeded 1,000 cases of accumulated incidence per 100,000 inhabitants.

OTHER NEWS
US recommends not travelling to Spain due to Covid, ‘civil unrest’ and ‘terrorism’ threats: The Travel Advisory index of the United States of America, which measures the safety of its citizens in other countries, has lowered Spain to level 4 (red), and the State Department has warned “Do not travel to Spain due to Covid-19” before adding “act more cautiously in the country due to terrorism and civil unrest.” However, the notice is not an express prohibition.
Spain shares this level 4 (red) warning with other European countries such as Portugal and the United Kingdom, while the US Consular Affairs Office has reviewed the situation in countries such as France, Italy and Greece, placing them at a ‘level 3’ to “reconsider” the possibility of travel.
The traffic light system has four levels that go from green (take the usual precautions) to red, that Spain now sits in. Full article: http://www.surinenglish.com/national/202107/29/recommends-travelling-spain-covid-20210729094555.html
