EU Member States Advised to Facilitate Entry Restrictions for Travellers From Parts of Spain (including Andalucia), Starting From This Week: The majority of the Spanish territory has gone from dark red into red in maps published weekly by the EU Centre for Disease Prevention and Control. The change in colour means that it is still unsafe to travel to Spain due to the current COVID-19 infection rates in this country, but yet, it is safer than last week. According to the EU common approach on travel measures, all Member States should require persons travelling from ‘dark red’ areas to take a pre-departure COVID-19 test and undergo quarantine upon arrival.
-Currently, only the following Spanish regions remain coloured in dark red: Andalusia, Extremadura, Basque & La Rioja. Full article: https://www.schengenvisainfo.com/news/eu-member-states-advised-to-facilitate-entry-restrictions-for-travellers-from-spain-starting-from-this-week/

Google is shutting down the Android Auto phone app:
Instead, Android users can try the Google Assistant driving mode. A statement from Google shared with 9to5Google confirms this plan. “Google Assistant driving mode is our next evolution of the mobile driving experience,” the statement reads. “For the people who use Android Auto in supported vehicles, that experience isn’t going away. For those who use the on-phone experience (Android Auto mobile app), they will be transitioned to Google Assistant driving mode. Starting with Android 12, Google Assistant driving mode will be the built-in mobile driving experience. We have no further details to share at this time.” Full article: https://www.engadget.com/android-auto-phone-app-shutting-down-130020711.html
NASA released a stunning image taken by the Hubble Space Telescope depicting a spiral galaxy 68 million light-years away from Earth: The spiral galaxy is known as NGC 1385 and is located in the constellation Fornax — the Latin word for “furnace,” according to a NASA blog. Described by the agency as “jewel-bright,” the image was captured using Hubble’s Wide Field Camera 3, which is considered to be the telescope’s “workhorse camera” due to its reliability.

Astronomy Monday- A ‘Blue Moon’ With Jupiter And Summer’s Brightest Star: Since it’s the third of four full Moons this summer season, it’s technically termed a “Blue Moon” by astronomers, but as you’ll see, it will turn from orange to yellow, not blue, as it rises into the night sky. It will be sharing the sky with a very bright Jupiter nearby, see pic below.
Monday, August 23, 2021: A full ‘Blue Moon’. Here’s a chance to see, at dusk and in the east, the exquisite sight of a rising full Moon. Rain Has Been Reported On Greenland’s Ice Sheet Summit For The First Time Ever: For the first time in recorded history, rain fell on and off for 13 hours on the highest point of Greenland’s ice sheet, 3,216 meters (10,551 feet) above sea level, on August 14. The rain lasted for several hours and air temperatures remained above freezing for about nine hours, as reported by the National Science Foundation’s Summit Station.
This is the third time in less than a decade, and the latest date in the year on record, where the temperature was above the freezing point of water and precipitation involved wet snow. Previous melting events took place in 2019 and 2012. Using ice core data, scientists have estimated the last melting event at the ice cap top took place in the late 1800s. Apple Just Gave Millions Of Users A Reason To Quit Their iPhones: iPhone users have put up with a lot in recent months but the company’s new CSAM detection system has proved to be a lightning rod of controversy that stands out from all the rest. And if you were thinking of quitting your iPhone over it, a shocking new report might just push you over the edge.
In a new editorial published by The Washington Post, a pair of researchers who spent two years developing a CSAM (child sexual abuse material) detection system similar to the one Apple plans to install on users’ iPhones, iPads and Macs next month, have delivered an unequivocal warning: it’s dangerous.
This has been the predominant fear regarding Apple’s CSAM initiative. The goal of the technology to reduce child abuse is indisputably important but the potential damage that could come from hackers and governments manipulating a system designed to search your iCloud photos and report abusive content, is clear to all.
And recent history doesn’t bode well. Last month, revelations about the Pegasus project exposed a global business which had been successfully hacking iPhones for years and selling their technology to foreign governments for surveillance of anti-regime activists, journalists, and political leaders from rival nations. With access to Apple technology designed to scan and flag the iCloud photos of a billion iPhone owners, this could go a lot further.
