Covid Andalucia- Andalusia adds 737 Covid infections in a single day but no deaths recorded: {Translation, summary} 18/11/2021, 11:41h
-Andalusia has added this Thursday 737 Covid-19 infections. This is the highest number of cases in the community since the beginning of September, more than two months ago. However, this significant increase does not have a proportional response in the number of hospitalized, which stands at 206 after growing today by 12.
-Thus, hospital occupancy is now only 1.28 percent of the total number of beds available in the Andalusian health system, a very low figure when compared to last winter, when there were almost 5,000 hospitalized by Covid in the community.
-The cumulative incidence has risen on Thursday to 56.39 cases per hundred thousand inhabitants.
-Proof that the current situation has nothing to do with what has been seen before in Andalusia is the fact that the community reports this Thursday zero deaths by Covid. The number of deaths -which in general have already totaled 11,381 since the beginning of the pandemic- are at a minimum, as are the hospitals. Source, Spanish: https://sevilla.abc.es/andalucia/sevi-andalucia-suma-737-contagios-covid-solo-pero-no-registra-muertos-202111181141_noticia.html
Covid Axarquia- Nerja returns to medium coronavirus risk with incidence rate below 150 cases: {Translation} 18Nov21
-The Ministry of Health and Families of the Andalusian Government has reported this Thursday, November 18, 11 new infections by coronavirus in the Axarquia in the last 24 hours. The infections decrease with respect to the 14 cases confirmed this Wednesday. A day in which the virus leaves no deaths in the region and in which 5 other people have been reported recovered from the disease.
-With regard to new positives in the last 24 hours, have been confirmed: 6 in Velez-Malaga; 3 in Torrox; and 2 in Nerja.
-The cases of coronavirus remain stable in Axarquia, with small fluctuations which are usual. The region remains for the moment outside the increase of infections that is being recorded in some communities in Spain and even in other areas of Andalusia. An example of this is that Nerja, one day later, returns to medium risk after lowering its incidence rate of 150 cases. The municipality has this Thursday an incidence of 137.2 infections per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.
-In Arenas, the town of Axarquia with the highest incidence of the disease, the rate has also fallen to 169.9 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In this case it drops to high risk as it is above 150 positives. The remaining municipalities in the region have the following incidence: Canillas de Albaida (131.8), Almáchar (110.1), Rincón de la Victoria (45.1), Vélez-Málaga (41.3), Torrox (39), Periana (32.4), Colmenar (29.3) and Algarrobo (15.3).
-Up to 21 localities of the Axarquia have not registered cases of coronavirus at least in the last two weeks. These are Alcaucín, Alfarnate, Alfarnatejo, Árchez, Benamargosa, Benamocarra, Canillas de Aceituno, Comares, Cómpeta, Cútar, El Borge, Frigiliana, Iznate, La Viñuela, Macharaviaya, Moclinejo, Riogordo, Salares, Sayalonga, Sedella and Totalán.
-As for the persons who have overcome the disease, 3 have been reported in Vélez-Málaga; and 2 in Nerja.
-The incidence in the Axarquia Health District (which includes Casabermeja) is 45.8 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, 1.1 points higher than yesterday Wednesday (44.7) and 5.2 points higher than a week ago (40.6). For its part, in the Health District of Malaga (to which belong Rincon de la Victoria, Macharaviaya, Moclinejo and Totalan, in addition to Malaga capital and Almogia) the incidence is at 69.3 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, 4.3 points more than Wednesday (65) and 17.1 points above a week ago (52.2).
-In total, since the beginning of the pandemic in the Axarquia region, 14,864 positive cases have been registered to date, of which 14,457 have been officially cured and 215 have died. DGT is launching another large campaign on Spanish roads this winter this time targeting tyres: These are the things that the traffic cops will be checking for, and will punish drivers accordingly. The main check will be on the condition of the tyres, in regards to wear and tear. This carries a fine of €200 per tyre. Update On Proposed Radical New Pet/Animal Laws: This is what we know about the sweeping new animal rights laws that are under development. You still have time to contact your regional representitive if you want your opinion heard.
-The law considers that no animal is dangerous because of its breed and that dogs must be valued individually. For this reason, the list of dangerous dogs is eliminated.
-No individual will be able to raise their own pets. Breeding and sale can only be done by registered professionals.
-The legal draft prohibits the breeding of non-native wild animals, that is to say, originating in another country, both terrestrial and marine, as well as trading with them, in particular for the exploitation of their skins or by-products. And zoos or dolphinariums will not be able to breed or acquire new animals, except those threatened species. More new rules in source article. MALAGA
Cómpeta will have a new health center in the spring of 2022: {Translation} This will replace the current one, an office of just one hundred square meters, enabled in what was the old rural doctor’s house.
According to SUR, the works, which were put out to tender last August, at a cost of over 400,000 euros, have an expected completion period of four months, so that, if there are no setbacks, the new space will be available next spring. The two doctors and two nurses who attend the population on a daily basis will be able to move there.
The new space will have up to eight medical offices, as well as waiting rooms, toilets, 24-hour emergency service and an administration area, among other services. The mayor has complained, however, that since last summer there has been no pediatrician in the town, so parents still have to travel to the health center in Algarrobo, almost 15 kilometers away, if they want their young children to be attended by these specialists. From Mid-2022 Brits Will No Longer Have Their Passports Stamped During EU Border Checks: British nationals travelling to and from European Union countries from May 2022 and on will no longer have their passports stamped, as the information on the date of their entry to the block, or the exit, will be recorded through a new automated system.
EU’s Entry/Exit System (EES) is set to become fully functional in May next year, though it has been reported that the EES may experience some delays.
The system will register entry and exit data and refusal of entry data of third-country nationals crossing EU’s external borders, including here Britons, which means that passport stamping will become unnecessary. Brits Will Have to Pay €7 Once in 3 Years & Not Every Time They Travel to EU: Some British media have been sparking panic amid British nationals regarding trips to the European Union Member States starting from mid-2022, more specifically, regarding the European Travel Information and Authorization System (ETIAS).
The latter is a travel authorization, which the nationals of third countries under the Schengen visa-free regime will have to obtain sometime in the second half of next year, SchengenVisaInfo.com reports.
The new requirement will hardly make trips to Europe more expensive. Not only because a €7 fee per application is quite low in comparison to fees that other third countries pay for visa applications (€80), but also because British nationals will have to apply for an ETIAS only every three years, and not each time they travel to the EU. EU Plans to Make COVID-19 Vaccination Passports Valid for Only 12 Months After Second Dose: According to the medium, the proposal will be presented before the Council on Friday.
If the source’s claims are correct, fully vaccinated travellers will have to take a refreshing COVID-19 jab 12 months after they received the second dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, or 12 months after the vaccine, if it was a single-jab vaccine, like Moderna.
Those who do not take the booster shot will have to test in order to be able to travel with an EU Digital COVID-19 Certificate. Full article:

With new cases soaring to an all-time high of 65,371, leaders of Germany’s 16 states agreed after crisis talks with Chancellor Angela Merkel to require those not immunised to provide negative tests in order to use public transport or go to the office. Tennis News- Email raises concerns about fate of Chinese tennis player Peng Shuai: The boss of women’s tennis has cast doubt on an email posted on China’s media purportedly from tennis star Peng Shuai, saying it “only raises my concerns as to her safety.”
Steve Simon, chairman of the WTA, said in a statement that he had a “hard time believing” the email was written by Peng, who has not been heard from since alleging two weeks ago that a powerful Chinese politician had sexually assaulted her.
Peng, a former Wimbledon and French Open doubles champion, alleged on the Twitter-like Weibo earlier this month that former vice-premier Zhang Gaoli had “forced” her into sex during a long-term on-off relationship.
