Skateboard event in Rincon de la Victoria: Saturday, December 4, Rincon de la Victoria will host the biggest Skateboard event on the Costa del Sol. The event will be hosted at the SkatePark in Huerta Julián.

Covid Andalucia- Andalucía records its highest Covid incidence rate since mid-September: The Andalucía region has this Thursday, 25 November, registered a total of 983 new coronavirus infections in the last 24 hours, more than the 737 last Thursday and the higher number since mid-September. – The Ministry of Health has registered this Thursday, with data provided by the autonomous communities 9,258 new cases of coronavirus, of which 5,541 have been diagnosed in the last 24 hours, compared to 6,315 on the same day last week, bringing to 5,121,100 the total number of people infected with Covid-19 since the beginning of the pandemic.
-Regarding the current average incidence of infections in Spain in the last 14 days, the report shows that it continues to increase, standing at 160.15 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, compared to the 148 reported on Wednesday by the department headed by Carolina Darias.
-As for deaths from Covid-19, 27 more have been reported, of which 93 have been recorded in the last week. This brings the overall death toll from coronavirus in Spain to 87,931 people.
-Currently, there are 3,273 patients admitted for Covid-19 throughout Spain and 571 in an ICU, although in the last 24 hours there have been 470 admissions and 347 discharges. The occupancy rate of beds occupied by coronavirus stands at 2.63 percent and in ICUs at 6.22 percent.
-Between November 15 and 21, the autonomous communities performed 748,191 diagnostic tests, of which 461,058 were PCR and 287,133 antigen tests, with an overall rate per 100,000 inhabitants of 1,591.01.

The UK Will Finally Officially Recognize Octopuses And Crabs as Sentient Beings: The update to the Animal Welfare Sentience Bill, which would see decapods and cephalopods protected alongside all back-boned animals from frogs to dogs, follows a review of over 300 scientific studies by the London School of Economics and Political Science.
Cephalopods have clearly demonstrated their incredible intelligence. Cuttlefish, for example, can pass cognitive tests designed for human children, while octopuses can recognize individual humans, remember how to solve puzzles they’ve encountered before, and they’re notorious escape artists too. They also emotionally feel pain, and when trapped in environments that lack stimulation, they grow frustrated and bored just like we do. They may even be able to dream.
While not as famously as the octopus, crabs have also demonstrated an ability to learn via association too. They can learn to navigate complex mazes and recognize and remember a fake seagull isn’t a threat. Portuguese Government returns to the state of emergency & has decreed a week of “containment”: {Translation}
-The Prime Minister of Portugal, António Costa, announced Thursday that the country will return to a state of health emergency as of December 1, as a result of the significant increase in new infections and with an incidence that already stands at 251 cases per 100,000 inhabitants in the last 14 days.
-Costa’s announcement once again brings with it the obligation to wear masks in closed spaces, to present vaccination certificates or negative tests for coronavirus in order to access bars, restaurants, leisure spaces and sporting events, in addition to the control of air borders where the health pass must be presented.
-The Government of Portugal has decreed a “week of containment” of contacts between January 2 and 9 in which teleworking will be mandatory and in which bars and nightclubs will be closed. Schools will start on January 10. “If there is one thing we have to avoid, it is to have a January 2022 that resembles the tragic January 2021,” said Prime Minister António Costa.

New Covid Variant Identified In South Africa, to be put on England’s travel red list: The variant, which was identified on Tuesday, initially sparked concern because it carries an “extremely high number” of mutations meaning that the spike protein now looks dramatically different from the version that vaccines were designed to target. The latest data, presented by South African scientists on Thursday, revealed that the variant also appears to be more transmissible and is already present in provinces throughout the country.
