Sliding Window Drafts: Is there anyone out there who can fix sliding patio type windows, in the bedroom, letting in drafts, if you can, or know someone who can, please contact 622480546, I am in Colmenar. Kathryn. Thank you.
Thank You: Just to let you know that from my post on DigameXtra regarding a food processor, I had 3 offers. The magic of DigameXtra is a positive thing. So I would like to thank Sigrid and Judith for their kind offers but I have accepted an offer from Bill and Sheila who, subject to a discussion with their friends David and Ian, offered me their Magimix food processor, free of charge.
This was overwhelmingly generous as these machines are expensive. I am blown away with their kindness.
So thank you so very much, Bill, Sheila, David and Ian.
As you know the Phoenix club supports local charities such as La Cruz Roja and every year (usually) we make a cash donation to them. Our home bake sales raise much needed funds for this and other causes we support, so thank you for that too. So this gift will be much loved and used.
And thanks to the magic of Naythan and DigameXtra!

Spain bans non-vaccinated Britons: Only fully-vaccinated British tourists will be admitted to Spain from Wednesday as countries around the world tighten border restrictions amid concern at the new Omicron coronavirus variant.
Until now, Britons could enter Spain by showing a negative PCR test result taken up to 72 hours before arriving, but from 1 December they will also need proof of a Covid-19 vaccination.
A spokeswoman for Spain’s Industry, Trade and Tourism said the move would not affect the estimated 300,000 Brits with residency in Spain. Full article: https://www.independent.co.uk/news/health/covid-omicron-spain-pcr-israel-border-b1965418.html

Electricity will cost 215 euros/MWh on Monday, almost 14 euros more than on Sunday: {Translation}
-The price of electricity in the wholesale market (pool) has been set for Monday, November 29, at 215 euros per megawatt hour (MWh), which represents an increase of almost 14 euros compared to the price set for this Sunday (201.42 euros).
-In the comparison with last Monday, the 22nd, the price of electricity for tomorrow is 9% lower (236.51 euros/MWh), but more than double the price recorded on the first Monday of November, the 1st (91.20 euros/MWh).
-Tomorrow’s price will again surpass the 200 euros/MWh barrier for the twelfth consecutive day and marks the second Monday with the most expensive electricity in November after the 22nd (236.51 euros/MWh).
-So far this month, the price of electricity averages 190.63 euros/MWh, 10 euros below October (200.06 euros/MWh), the most expensive month in history to date, and 34.5 euros above September (156.15 euros/MWh).
-Monday’s light price exceeds by more than four times that of the same day last year, when it was paid at 45.44 euros/MWh (November 29, 2020 was Sunday).
-According to data from the Iberian Electricity Market Operator (OMIE), the maximum price will be recorded between 20:00 and 21:00, at 290 euros/MWh; while the minimum will mark 99.94 euros/MWh at 04:00.
-The prices registered in the wholesale market have a direct impact on the regulated tariff or PVPC, to which almost 11 million consumers in Spain are subscribed, and serves as a reference for the other 17 million who contract their supply in the free market.
-As for some of the European countries, in the United Kingdom the megawatt hour will be paid tomorrow at an average of 323.67 pounds (381.47 euros); in Italy, at 287.01 euros; in France, at 301.12 euros; in Germany, at 265.96 euros; and in Portugal, at the same price as in Spain when sharing the market. DoctorLaptop’s Tips #95
What Windows 10 & 11 Users Need To Know About Anti-Virus Programs and Apps: {By DoctorLaptop}
-You need to have some type of protection from malware and trackers.
-New anti-virus software is designed for newer machines. The industry expects people to replace their computers every 3 to 5 years. They are not really interested in supporting older machines for individual users; that takes a lot more effort, when their target customers are businesses that buy thousands of copies at a time for newer computers.
-If your computer is under 3 years old with at least 8Gb of RAM you can use whatever anti-virus you choose and it should not effect your computer performance much. Your up-to-date processor should be able to accommodate most anti-virus programs. You don’t need to read the rest of this unless you believe your computer is slower than it should be.
-If your computer is more than 3 years old, or has less than 8Gb of RAM, please continue reading.
-Windows 10 & 11 both have Windows Defender Antivirus pre-installed. This is sufficient for most users. Windows Defender Antivirus ranks in the top 5 of most lists of FREE anti-virus program malware detection ratings by independent analysts. (ref: https://www.neowin.net/news/av-test-confirms-windows-defender-is-amongst-the-very-finest-antiviruses-you-get-in-2021/).
-All anti-virus programs slow your device. For this reason you do not want a bloated third-party program, loaded with features that you will never use, yet still run in the background, slowing the computer and popping up ads and pointless messages. Windows Defender has the least of these annoyances.
-The main reason to use a 3rd party anti-virus program is if you do on-line banking and/or on-line purchases frequently. In that case you may want better protection than Windows Defender, but you will need to pay to get something better than what you already have, and it will slow your overall performance. The two I recommend, that have the best detection rates and the least effect on performance are (not affiliate links)
Kaperski Internet Security: https://www.kaspersky.co.uk/internet-security
Bitdefender Internet Security: https://www.bitdefender.co.uk/solutions/
-If you have more than one 3rd party anti-virus installed (not including Windows Defender) they will block each other from working correctly. If you have a third party anti-virus program, and you remove it, Windows Defender will resume protecting your computer when you restart the device.
-If you have a 3rd party anti-virus installed, you must completely uninstall it before you change to another. This is now a 2 step process. Previously you could simply use the Windows uninstaller in Settings to remove anti-virus programs, but that is no longer the case. Now, after you do the uninstall, you need to go to the website of that anti-virus program, and download their uninstaller clean-up tool. Even if the website says it is only necessary to use the tool for failed uninstalls, use it anyway! It cleans up left behind registry entries that CCleaner or similar registry cleaners cannot access. These registry spaces need to be empty for the next anti-virus program to install properly. The tool names vary from brand to brand, and some brands make finding the uninstall clean-up tool hard to find; if you can’t find it, email me and I will email it to you in an attachment. Pay attention while using this tool, and closely look at every option before proceeding, you do NOT want to just click thru this!
-Be careful if using the “Norton Remove and Reinstall Tool”, as it will try to trick you into reinstalling Norton as part of the cleanup. Do not click a button labelled “Remove & Reinstall”, there is another option to just uninstall below that button.
-When setting up a new Windows computer you will often see McAfee has been preinstalled. Actually, that is only the install app for McAfee, not the program it’s self. If you don’t want McAfee installed, uninstall this installer app. As long as you never run that app, you can uninstall it without the need to use the uninstall clean up tool.
