Dear Readers, I must cut back on unnecessary tasks as it adds hours to my work some days. Everyone needs to follow the rules, as stated at the top of every issue!
Rules page: https://digamextra.com/about
Submissions Info: To avoid having your submissions returned for correction you MUST follow these rules from the rules page.
-Everyone must sign their submissions with a name and location (nearest town). The bottom of every post should look like this: Naythan/Torrox Costa. Do not write an “area”, like “Nerja area”. Just pick the nearest town and always use that. You may additionally include a location to meet or pickup, but your location is required in any case.

If you include a copyright protected pic without the credit I will simply not post that pic. MOONETTE – Organic Skincare for Mature Skin
We are a Torrox-based company specialising in the creation of formulae which help prevent premature skin ageing. We are committed to making effective products at affordable prices.
Your skin health matters to us. How you feed your skin is as important as how you feed your body. Why settle for anything less than natural and organic?
As our skin is the first layer of our defence against microbial infections, ultraviolet radiation and environmental contamination it plays a vital role in our health. As we grow older, however, our skin becomes thinner, wrinkled, and more sensitive; hence it requires the use of treatments containing specific ingredients to the care of treating mature skin.
Recognising this need we have created a range of formulae which help
-slow down ageing process by smoothing fine lines and wrinkles.
-improve facial complexion and eliminate blemishes.
At Moonette, we are passionate about health, beauty and plants. Your skin will benefit from the properties of botanic essential oils combined with a selection of nutrients for deep hydration, cell revitalization and antioxidant effect, all sourced from the finest natural ingredients with gorgeous fragrances.
Naturally, we care about our planet and feel the need to help reduce the sheer volumes of plastics waste that are generated daily around the globe. Presently, we are minimizing the usage of plastic materials in our production while seeking alternative forms of packaging. To help reduce pollution we are asking all local customers to recycle or reuse their Moonette skincare containers, and offering a small discount on future purchases to customers recycling containers.

Spanish Politics- PP calls on Sánchez to “take a step back and call elections” after two years of “lying to everyone”: {Translation}
-The deputy secretary of Organisation of the Partido Popular, Ana Beltrán, has asked the president of the Government, Pedro Sánchez, this Friday to “take a step back and call” general elections, after spending two years “lying to everyone and about everything”.
-Speaking to journalists in Jerez de la Frontera (Cádiz), Beltrán pointed out that today marks two years of a government led by “the president of lies”, because Sánchez “lies constantly and to everyone”: “He said he would never govern with Podemos (party), that he would not agree with Bildu (party), that he would not pardon those convicted of the procés (mishandling of gov’t funds) and that he was not going to leave anyone behind, and nothing could be further from the truth”.
-Now, she said, we have a “government led by communists, populists, pro-independence supporters and the heirs of ETA”. In her opinion, Sánchez’s government “has not improved the quality of life of Spaniards at all”, while it has improved the lives of “the Catalan pro-independence supporters convicted of sedition, who were pardoned, and the prisoners of the terrorist group ETA”.
-She also warned that, in addition to all this, energy poverty is already established in our country due to the high cost of electricity. “It would be possible to reduce the price of electricity if Sánchez wanted to, but he does not want to do so by reducing the non-energy costs associated with the electricity tariff by 20%”, she said.
-In addition to this problem, she pointed out, there is a rise in the shopping basket and the cost of basic foodstuffs.
-For Ana Beltrán, it is time for “Sánchez to take a step back and call elections” and she stated that the PP will go to these elections as a “serious alternative, capable and prepared to govern, with clear proposals to improve people’s lives”.
-She assured that the PP is prepared to govern, as is already being seen in regions such as Andalusia, Madrid, Galicia, Murcia and Castile and Leon, where the economy is growing and jobs are being created, while taxes are being lowered. She pointed out that the case of Andalusia, with Juanma Moreno as president, is the “best example that we can give to all Spaniards of what we will do in the future as this region is being transformed after decades of socialist executives.
-On the other hand, she expressed his concern that this weekend “we will sadly see 200 tributes to murderers who are proud to be murderers” and we cannot allow this “humiliation of the victims of ETA and all Spaniards”. She said she was confident that a law could be passed to prevent these tributes to ETA members and to prevent them from receiving prison benefits even when they do not collaborate with the justice system, and “so that the statute of limitations on the murders of the terrorist group ETA never expires”. Sick leave because of Covid soars by 1,000 per cent in the Andalusian region: The sixth wave of Covid-19 caused by the Omicron variant resulted in almost 64,000 workers in Andalucía being absent from their jobs in December 2021, the Association of Mutual Insurance Companies (AMAT) said on 6 January. The number represents a 1,023 per cent increase in absenteeism compared to the same period last year. AMAT described the situation as “a true tsunami of sick leave” due to “the explosion of infections”. Full article: https://www.surinenglish.com/andalucia/sick-leave-because-20220107113804-nt.html
Andalucian researchers find Vitamin D linked to increased Covid survival: {Translation, 1st 4 paragraphs only}
-Researchers from the Clinical Bioinformatics Area of the Fundación Progreso y Salud, dependent on the Regional Ministry of Health and Families, have carried out a retrospective study on almost 16,000 patients to determine and confirm the relationship between vitamin D and a higher survival rate against Covid-19 disease.
-The research group, led by the principal investigator and director of the area, Joaquín Dopazo, has used clinical information provided by the Population Health Database of a total of 15,968 Covid patients hospitalised in Andalusia between January and November 2020.
-In this study, the results of which have been published in Scientific Reports, the clinical history of each of the patients has been analysed, showing that those who took a drug to restore vitamin D during the 15 days prior to hospital admission experienced a higher survival rate compared to Covid-19.
-According to Dopazo, “we have studied the effect of vitamin D on patient survival”. “The data obtained, the survival curves and the risk ratios demonstrate – taking into account other variables that influence survival such as age, sex and other comorbidities – the idea that vitamin D favours a higher survival rate”, with particular relevance in the case of calcifediol, although it has also been demonstrated in the case of cholecalciferol. The scientists also found that the association was stronger when the drug was taken closer to the date of hospitalisation. Source, Spanish
Drivers face fines for dirty or snow-covered car windows in Spain: Little known traffic rules in Spain mean that drivers can be fined up to 3,000 euros for not keeping the windows of their cars clean from dirt, ice and snow.

Smart Speakers like the Google Home speaker, Nest Audio, Chromecast, and Pixel line to be DOWNGRADED after Google loses patent infringement case:
Following a preliminary ruling in August, the US International Trade Commission has issued a final decision saying that Google infringed five Sonos smart speaker patents. It would be possible for this ruling to result in some products like the Nest Audio, Chromecast, and Pixel line being banned in the US, but Google has prepared ITC-approved software downgrades, which remove the infringing features from users’ products.
On a Google Nest Community post called “Upcoming Speaker Group changes,” a Google rep tells customers: Due to a recent legal ruling we’re making some changes to how you set up your devices and [how] the Speaker Group functionality will work moving forward. If you’re using the Speaker Group feature to control the volume in the Google Home app, by voice with the Google Assistant, or directly on your Nest Hub display, you’ll notice a few changes. During this time of uncertainty, God’s word reminds us that the Gospel shines brightest in times of darkness. We are a Bible based Church community continuing to help people find their way to God through Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour.

El Puente Christian Fellowship – Sunday Service
El Puente Christian Fellowship is a loving, multi-national, Bible believing community of Christ, who meet each Sunday at 11 am to worship The Lord. We enjoy a time of worship with contemporary songs and traditional hymns, and a message brought to us by one of the Elders or a visiting speaker.
The church meeting hall is situated underneath Maroma Inmobiliaria Puente Don Manuel, Cruce de Periana – 29713.
Full directions and further information can be found on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/El-Puente-Christian-Fellowship-105285888299225/or please contact us by email on elpuentechristianfellowship@gmail.com. For those who cannot join us in person, we aim to stream Sunday services via the Facebook page (subject to a good internet connection!).
St George’s Church Málaga: We are part of the Church of England in Spain covering the area from Torremolinos in the west to the outskirts of Nerja in the east and to the northern edge of Malaga province.
We have three worship centres, in Velez-Málaga, Málaga city and Salinas. Everyone is welcome to our Sunday services in English, and you can also contact us to enquire about baptisms, marriage blessings, funerals, and house blessings.
Father Louis, our Chaplain, is available for counsel and support, regardless of anyone’s beliefs or background. We aspire to be a welcoming and inclusive community, open to all people seeking faith and friendship.
If you can’t get to church, we live-stream our Sunday services on Facebook, and also gather on Zoom for an informal service on Wednesday mornings.
Sign up for our newsletter by emailing Father Louis at malagachaplain@gmail.com to receive login details, and news of other future events. We look forward to welcoming you and being of service.
