Atsuko Shimada was born in Japan, she graduated from Sapporo Otani Junior College of Music, in 2004 she graduated from Berklee College with Honors. In 2006 she moved to Spain and fixed her residence in San Roque, during all this time she has collaborated with different musicians such as: Enrique Oliver; Juan Galiardo; Celia Mur Arturo Serra or Phil Wilkinson.
Her influences include pianists such as Wynton Kelly and Herbie Hancock. She has performed at festivals such as: Brecon Jazz Club of Wales, Porthcawl Jazz Festival; Gibraltar Jazz Festival & Huelva Jazz Festival.

-The regional tourism minister, Juan Marin, says hotel occupancy figures are currently around 78%, rising to 90% when the biggest Easter processions take place.
-This week numerous tourists can be seen in the main resorts of Malaga province, as the Junta de Andalucía’s vice-president and tourism minister, Juan Marin, confirmed on Monday, 11 April. In fact, he says the hotel occupancy figures are “spectacular,” rising from 76-78% mid-week to over 90% at the weekend. “Some places are fully booked for this weekend already,” he says. Editorial Comment On Previous Article & Spanish Politics Update:
-What Juan Marin fails to mention in the previous article is that these rates & numbers relate only to OPEN establishments. He is ignoring all the tourist businesses that have not re-opened. If you figure in all the empty rooms in closed businesses, the true overall hotel occupancy rates compared to pre-Covid numbers are not as encouraging.
-This type of behavior, along with the perceived mis-handlings of the EU Covid Recovery Funds, the energy crisis and the transportation strike, is precisely why several political parties have called for early elections to be held for Andalucia this summer. The motion to “dissolve the Andalucian Parliment”, as is required before a new election can take place, is imminent. Then they must wait 54 days before the new election. The polls are showing a strong swing to the Right/Far Right, as just happened to our neighbors in the Castilla y León region, where far Right VOX is now a partner in the newly elected Regional gov’t.
-What does the current leadership say about this? The secretary general of Andalusia, Juan Espadas, has stressed that Moreno Bonilla, president of the PP (Partido Popular Andaluz), “is deeply mistaken when he speaks of stability linked to the extreme right”, referring to the PP-Vox pact in Castilla y León, an agreement that seems to have “encouraged Moreno Bonilla” to advance elections in Andalusia in June, which is already “taken for granted”. I just want English speaking people living here, who often get left out of conversations regarding Spanish politics, to be well informed about their current home. At the very least, you can impress your Spanish friends with your political insights!

Greece to Officially Drop COVID-19 Entry Restrictions for All Travellers on May 2:
-Travellers from all over the world will soon be able to enter Greece restriction-free as the latter’s authorities have decided to drop the COVID-19 restrictions. The decision to lift the entry rules was announced by the Minister of Health of Greece, Thanos Plevris.
-He said that starting from May 2, no entry rules will apply for incoming travellers. According to the Minister, all travellers, regardless of their country of origin, will be exempt from the requirement to present a valid vaccination, recovery, or test certificate upon their arrival.

Tennis News- Malaga scoops the Davis Cup tennis Finals in two-year deal: Malaga will be in the spotlight for millions of tennis fans worldwide, for the next two years, after the city was announced as the host for the Finals, which includes the elimination rounds from the quarterfinals to the final, in 2022 and 2023.

Researchers discovered the first known interstellar meteor to ever hit Earth, according to a recently released United States Space Command document. An interstellar meteor is a space rock that originates from outside our solar system – a rare occurrence. This one is known as CNEOS 2014-01-08, and it crash-landed along the northeast coast of Papua New Guinea on January 8, 2014. It was eventually located by researchers in 2017.
