Frankenstein the Show: A circus and theatre are merged with a touch of dark humour, backed by live music. June 26 to 28 at the Congress Centre in Granada with performances at 6pm and 9.30pm each night.
With this show we expand the concept of the so-called New Circus, reinforcing the plot and the “Theme of Horror”. We made a fun and rogue, but at the same time emotional, version of Mary Shelley’s magnificent work “Frankenstein” or “The Modern Prometheus”. A different way of telling this well-known story through Humor and Acrobatics.
We will transfer the spectator to a fantastic world from the same entrance door of the theater / venue and we will make him forget everything during the two hours of entertainment that our “Show” offers. A stage proposal where the most intense moments of the original novel and the funniest of the versions that have been seen throughout all these years in cinema and theaters are mixed, all wrapped in a fantasy aesthetic inspired by the wonderful mind from the filmmaker “Tim Burton”.

Free photo tutorials: During lockdown I came across an old memory stick holding tutorials from photography workshops I used to run in Ireland. I had the idea -and the time – to adapt them for anyone who’d like to improve their photography. Rather than post them to Facebook where things tend to disappear, I started adding them, last night, to a blog on my website with each post appearing as a link on my Facebook Page.
I don’t know if anyone out there is interested, but it’s free, so why not? They can be accessed through the Photography Tutorials tab at https://georgemunday.art/ or via my Facebook Page at FB link

Computers are getting more expensive, and here’s why: The world-wide personal computer industry saw another quarterly decline in sales during the second quarter, as price hikes caused by memory chip scarcity scared some consumers away. While companies could not raise prices too quickly on computers sold to businesses, especially at large enterprises where contracts lock in prices, consumers are reportedly seeing higher price tags.
Some companies are also adding less memory, stripping down the specifications of the system and instead installing smaller amounts of DRAM at prices that would have covered larger memory modules in the past.
At a meeting in February, an executive at chip giant Intel Corp. showed a slide indicating that average selling prices for PCs have climbed steadily since 2014. The recent move appears more significant. “Vendors raise the price for both new and existing models,” she said. “For instance, a model A used to be $500, but the same model A with same configuration is now $550.” (Also, all computers are in short supply, most popular models on Amazon are sold out and cannot restock due to COVID-19 interrupting delivery routes. -Ed.) Experts warn against relaxing safety measures as coronavirus outbreaks spread in Spain: The country recorded its highest number of new daily infections in three weeks, and there is concern an increasingly cavalier attitude towards the pandemic could lead to a second wave. The report from the Spanish Health Ministry on Wednesday showed the highest number of new daily infections in three weeks: 196, without taking into account the figures from Castilla-La Mancha, which could not be added due to technical problems. One has to go back to June 3 to find a worse number: 219. And in Andalusia, authorities are investigating two potential outbreaks in Granada and Huelva. Officials have reported five active clusters across the southern region. UPDATE- Which airlines have scheduled flights from the UK to Spain from July?: Since Spain brought forward the date of the opening of the country’s borders to EU tourists to June 21st (instead of the initially set date of July 1st), airlines have announced changes to their summer flight schedules. Social Security in Spain Agrees to Extend Aid for Freelances Past June 30: According to sources close to the negotiators, the extension of this benefit, which equates to around 70 per cent of the regulatory base (around €661 for those contributing the minimum base) will be available for an additional three months, until September 30. Spain’s ombudsman slams airlines for still not reimbursing passengers for cancelled flights: In their letter to the government, Spain’s national ombudsman explains how they’ve received “numerous complaints” from disgruntled passengers who say airlines’ “websites have been set up in such a way that it’s impossible to apply for a money refund”. Other airlines are offering airmiles and other vouchers that don’t cover the cost of the flight as well as carrying out “numerous” other illicit practices, the letter signed by head ombudsman Francisco Fernández Marugán states. ‘The money’s gone’- Wirecard collapses owing $4 billion: Wirecard, a German payment processor and financial services provider collapsed on Thursday owing creditors almost $4 billion after disclosing a gaping hole in its books that its auditor EY said was the result of a sophisticated global fraud. Creditors have scant hope of getting back the 3.5 billion euros they are owed, sources familiar with the matter said. Of that total, Wirecard has borrowed 1.75 billion from 15 banks and issued 500 million in bonds.
“The money’s gone,” said one banker. “We may recoup a few euros in a couple of years but will write off the loan now.” Full story: https://www.reuters.com/article/us-wirecard-accounts/the-moneys-gone-wirecard-collapses-owing-4-billion-idUSKBN23W176

Political Correctness Foolishness: Unilever to drop terms like ‘whitening’ from beauty products. Consumer products giant Unilever said Thursday it is aiming for a “more inclusive vision of beauty” in its skin care products and will remove words such as “fair,” “whitening” and “lightening” from its products, a move that comes amid intense global debate about race. (What about teeth-whitening toothpaste, another Unilever product? Is “whitening” or even “lightening” your teeth now considered racist? I don’t imagine “teeth un-yellowing” toothpaste would be any more acceptable. What the heck are you supposed to call it? -Ed.) Full story: https://apnews.com/f251355cc76e208c9d0e514dfb9c0a0d

Microsoft Confirms June Windows 10 Update Could Trigger Reboots – No Fix Available Right Now: This month’s Patch Tuesday Windows 10 update has managed to bring in quite a few issues, including some that have now been acknowledged by Microsoft. After releasing an out-of-band fix for the printing issue, the Windows maker has now confirmed that some users might experience crashes due to a failure in the Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) file, lsass.exe.
The Local Security Authority Subsystem Service (LSASS) file (lsass.exe) might fail on some devices with the error message, “A critical system process, C:\WINDOWS\system32\lsass.exe, failed with status code c0000008. The machine must now be restarted.”
Microsoft hasn’t shared any workaround, but added that it is working on a resolution and will provide an update in an upcoming release. Source: https://wccftech.com/microsoft-confirms-june-windows-10-update-could-crash-systems/

Malwarebytes Blamed for Windows 10 v2004 Update Reports of Massive Performance Issues And Crashes: The complaints can be found in numerous reports in the Malwarebytes support forums since the release of Windows 10 version 2004. These issues range from general slowness, video stuttering, blue screen of death (BSOD) crashes to frozen systems where Windows 10 stops responding. As it turns out, however, the problem is with the installed Malwarebytes version 4.1.
The problem was solved by disabling the “Ransomware Protection” function of Malwarebytes. Therefore, there is already beta version 4.1.1.71, which corrects the error or in which the error does not appear. The beta can be obtained via the settings. To do this, select Settings> General> Beta updates and set the slider to activate there. Then you search for a new version. When the beta is displayed, you install it.

Safe form of ultraviolet light kills airborne coronavirus: Ceiling fixtures emitting a safe form of ultraviolet light called far-UVC would be very efficient at killing airborne coronaviruses, according to a study by researchers at Columbia University. “A very low exposure to far-UVC light killed well over 99.9% of the exposed virus,” lead researcher Dr. David Brenner told Reuters.
The idea would be to install overhead far-UVC lights in public locations, where they would be “continuously killing microbes, including the COVID-19 virus – and so limiting the spread of the virus,” Brenner said, adding that far-UVC manufacturers are already ramping up production. “We don’t see far-UVC light as an alternative to masks and social distancing,” Brenner said. “We see it as a new extra weapon that we can use in the battle against COVID-19.”
