We are also collecting foodstuffs for the Spanish Red Cross on a weekly basis, so if you can add a couple of items to your weekly shop and bring it down to us, it would be very much appreciated. They really need baby food, nappies and foodstuffs such as rice, flour and pasta.

Concerts to return to Torremolinos having been rescheduled: The We Have Talent + Performing Arts program, promoted by the Culture delegation, were due to see a range of performances which have now been rescheduled for 18th, 19th, 25th, and 26th September with two performances occurring every night.
Whilst it is wonderful news that the concerts will go ahead, there will be a requirement for the public to book in advance, with tickets able to be requested by emailing eventos@ayto-torremolinos.es giving them your name, ID, contact telephone number and the day on which you want to attend. Art Classes: After a summer break I am starting up my art classes again. They are taking place both in my studio (and two can work in the patio, but you need to like dogs) in La Herradura or you can join the class online. And yes, that does work, as I’ve now been teaching online since the beginning of the lockdown in Spain. The class is taking place on Wednesday morning from 10.00 to 13.00.

Sayalonga asking the public to go into voluntary lockdown: Sayalonga in the province of Malaga has made a formal request to have its neighbouring inhabitants placed into voluntary confinement due to the increase in the coronavirus cases specific to the area.
The local government have also requested the cessation of all public activities and a severe reduction in the allowed capacity of shops in the town of Axarquia.
Mayor Sagrario Fernández has made a formal request for inhabitants of Axarquia town to enter voluntary confinement stating that the request is being made “so that we only abandon the family home in cases of dire need.”

Fire in Frigiliana: INFOCA, the Andalusian Fire Prevention and Extinction Plan, came to help control a forest fire that had been active since early Saturday afternoon. The fire affected an area called Los Trancos and Fuente Vieja, near the town and where there are scattered houses. The fire burned two hectares of land, but no residents required evacuation. The fire spread rather slowly and by late afternoon it was considered controlled.
