Andalusia calls on 49 year olds to get vaccinated against Covid-19: {Translation} Updated: 31/05/2021, 16:31
-Andalusians aged 49, i.e. those born in 1972, can now be vaccinated against Covid-19. The Regional Ministry of Health and Families has extended the immunisation process to citizens born in 1970, 1971 and 1972 and they can now make an appointment for the first dose of the vaccine.
-This was announced by the Minister of Health, Jesús Aguirre, who pointed out that the appointment can be obtained through the Andalusian Health Service (SAS) website via ClicSalud+, the mobile application and the Salud Responde telephone number (955 54 50 60) and also at your health centre, preferably by telephone. This age group, the minister pointed out, will be immunised with Pfizer and Moderna vaccines.
-The possibility of making an appointment directly is thus extended to people aged between 49 and 59 (born between 1962 and 1972), as well as those aged 68 and over (born in 1953 and earlier).
-According to the Consejería de Salud, all Andalusians, whether they have private insurance or are in the public health system, can make an appointment to be vaccinated if they are in the selected age groups. However, there is a six-month moratorium for those who have already had the disease. Until this time has elapsed from the time of diagnosis, they cannot make an appointment for vaccination.
-In addition to the general population, Andalusia is continuing with the plan to administer the second dose to essential personnel who were left without the second jab when AstraZeneca’s administration was suspended for those under 60 years of age.
-Jesús Aguirre explained that “this group of essential personnel last week opted mainly for the Astra preparation. Specifically, 53,124 essential people under 60 years of age were vaccinated, with 50,897 (95.8%) choosing the second dose with AstraZeneca and 2,227 (4.2%) with Pfizer”.
-This week, Andalusia is expected to receive 843,080 doses: 484,380 from Pfizer, 55,000 from Moderna, 64,700 doses from Janssen and 239,000 from AstraZeneca.

The Junta rules out eliminating face masks in July and advocates a slow de-escalation in Andalusia: {Translation}
-Until Andalusia has clearly defeated the coronavirus pandemic, masks will have to be worn indoors and outdoors. This has been indicated by the Regional Minister for Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre, who has ruled out following the idea of Castilla-La Mancha, a region which announced on Monday that from next July it will be possible to dispense with the use of masks outdoors.
-“The only thing that can prevent Covid-19 is the vaccine, which is very, very effective. But what protects us most is the mask, as well as distance and hand hygiene,” said the Minister, who stressed that, until the pandemic subsides, “we will be wearing the mask”.
-In addition, the Health Minister also indicated that Andalusians have been lax in complying with the measures against the coronavirus. “We have lowered our guard a lot. It seems that we have beaten the virus and we haven’t,” said Aguirre, who once again urged the public to be cautious.
-Aguirre recalled that tomorrow, Tuesday, there will be a regional high-impact committee to analyse the next measures to be taken in the fight against the pandemic. The minister has ruled out major relaxations of restrictions and has opted for “a position that should be as conservative as possible”.
-“We are doing well in terms of income, but we are not doing well in terms of incidence, far from it”, Aguirre pointed out, because, he said, the virus is killing increasingly younger people, “aged 50 or under”. So the proposal of Health to continue with the de-escalation will be to “be calm and go slowly. There is no reason to run too fast. This is the new electricity rate that comes into effect on June 1: {Translation}
-From 1 June 2021, the 2.0 and 2.1 access tariffs will be combined into a single tariff called 2.0TD. The arrival was expected much earlier, as early as 2020, but due to the pandemic declared in March 2020, it is months late.
-This new electricity tariff will apply to all low-voltage supply points with a contracted power of up to 15 kW. The access tariffs that will be renamed 2.0 TD are:
POWER DISCRIMINATION TARIFF
2.0A Up to 10 kW X
2.0DHA Up to 10 kW2 periods Two periods
2.0DHS Up to 10 kW3 periods Three periods
2.1A Up to 15 kW X
2.1DHA Up to 15 kW2 periods Two periods
2.1DHS Up to 15 kW3 periods Three periods
HOW TO UNDERSTAND A BILL
It is difficult for any user to understand a bill, despite years of attempts to make them clearer for the customer. Perhaps we do not spend enough time to understand it, and in the end we take it as a revolutionary tax, as Antonio Colino, general manager of Aldro Energía, explained to us.
-The tariffs known as 2.0 and 2.1, with all their modalities, will be called 2.0TD. Not only the name changes, because from now on the customer will find some modifications that will affect their new electricity bill.
ACCESS TOLL
Before, domestic customer supply points consisted of up to 6 access tolls (2.0A, 2.0DHA, 2.0DHS, 2.1A, 2.1DHA and 2.1DHS). Now they all fall under the 2.0TD toll.
DISCRIMINATION
Now all domestic customers with a contracted power of up to 15 kW will have a tariff with time discrimination in 3 periods. Therefore, all tariffs with a stable price will disappear. From now on we must take into account peak, off-peak and super-peak hours. It will be in this last period where the price of energy and the price of the access toll will be cheaper.
-The new month brings for all customers who had contracted a tariff with a stable price, a single tariff with 3 different prices. If you do not want to have a scare in the next bill, you will have to adapt your consumption to the cheapest hours.
-This is the new electricity tariff that will come into force on 1 June.
If we focus on the new features, users will also find two power brackets. One for the peak period and the other for the off-peak period.
TARIFA DÍASFRANJAFRANJA
PEAK TIME (+ expensive) from Monday to Friday 10:00 – 14: 00 18:00 – 22:00
VALLEY HOUR (+ cheap) from Monday to Friday 00:00 – 08:00
FLAT TIME (intermediate) from Monday to Friday 08:00 – 10:00 14:00 – 18:00 22:00 – 24:00
The flat rate applies on national holidays on Saturdays and Sundays.

Three OCU recommendations for saving on the new electricity bill: {Translation}
-This Tuesday, 1 June, the new electricity tariffs come into force and will directly or indirectly affect all users. The Organisation of Consumers and Users (OCU) warns that these new tariffs can be an opportunity to reduce your electricity bill or a risk that your bill will go up if you are not careful.
-So that consumers can evaluate and choose, the OCU has carried out a calculation of the possible savings and what they could end up paying more with the new electricity tariff structure in force from 1 June.
*Shifting consumption to the cheapest times of the day*
-The OCU points out that consumers find it difficult to adapt their consumption to certain hours. However, in certain cases it is possible, with simple gestures, to shift the use of some household appliances to the cheapest times and avoid, as far as possible, peak hours. This ability to adapt will depend on the equipment and conditions of each home and its environment. OCU has carried out a theoretical exercise for a series of household appliances to calculate the total savings that could be achieved: up to 574 € if all consumption is shifted to off-peak hours and 407 € if it is shifted to peak hours.
-OCU warns that in practice it is impossible to shift all consumption to flat or off-peak hours, although a change in habits can be reflected in the electricity bill.  Therefore, there is already a high level of consumption during off-peak hours and the aim, if the bill is to be cut, must be to shift consumption from one time slot to another.
-OCU points out that if you manage to avoid peak hours (from 10 am to 2 pm and from 6 pm to 10 pm on weekdays) when using the washing machine, dishwasher and tumble dryer, it is possible to save around 30 € per year for each of these appliances without having to use them at night, just by taking advantage of off-peak hours on weekdays. By programming these appliances at night (or at weekends during off-peak hours), savings can reach €130 between the 3 appliances.
-In the case of users who have an electric boiler, savings can reach 234 € if 100% of consumption can be made during off-peak hours, something relatively simple that involves the use of timers, very cheap devices that allow appliances to be switched on at the desired time.
*Optimising the contracted power*
-The OCU reminds us that another saving possibility offered by these tariffs is to have two contracted power ratings. Each kW contracted for peak and off-peak hours costs €30.67 per year (plus taxes), while the cost of one kW contracted for off-peak hours is €1.42 per year.
-Therefore, a home with 4.4 kW contracted for the whole day will pay €180 per year for the fixed part of the bill. On the other hand, if the daytime power is reduced to 3.3 kW and 4.4 kW is maintained only during off-peak hours (nights, weekends and holidays) at night, you will pay 137 euros per year for the fixed term. However, this possibility will depend on the equipment of each home. From 1 June, consumers should start to receive information on power peaks on their bills, so they will be able to assess whether or not it is advisable to reduce their power.
*Compare and contract a good tariff*
-The OCU points out that for the more than 10 million households that have contracted the regulated PVPC price, these times and prices will be automatically transferred to their next bill. On the other hand, for the more than 16 million households that are in the free market, there are hundreds of different electricity tariffs and in each one of them the commercialization companies are free to adapt in a different way.
-For the latter, the OCU warns consumers that they should pay attention to the communications they receive from their electricity supplier to find out how the changes that come into force on 1 June will be applied to their tariffs.
-Once this communication has been received, the OCU recommends comparing your tariff with those of the rest of the market, including the regulated PVPC tariff. To do so, it offers consumers its OCU comparator to check whether it is still interesting or, on the contrary, expensive. OCU reminds that the difference between the cheapest tariffs, including the PVPC and the most expensive ones, can reach more than 200 € of annual difference. SEVILLA

UEFA requires vaccine or a negative test for Covid to see the matches of the European Championship in Sevilla: {Translation}
-Football fans in Seville already know that tomorrow the tickets for Euro 2020, which will be partially held in La Cartuja, will be released. But not for everyone. Tomorrow only fans who had already bought their tickets when the original venue was San Mamés, in Bilbao, will have access in the first 24 hours. On Wednesday, from 14.00, fans will be able to buy tickets in a public window to watch Spain in any of the three group matches as well as the match in the Round of 16, provided there are any tickets left.
-For the fans who will attend the Cartuja stadium on the days when Luis Enrique’s national team plays its first matches in Seville, there are specific rules to follow due to the Covid protocol that UEFA, as the main organiser of the event, maintains. One of them, as specified on the continental body’s website, is the requirement of a negative Covid test or, failing that, at least a test for the vaccine against the coronavirus to gain direct access to the Sevillian stadium. This was already done at the Champions League final between Manchester City and Chelsea last Saturday at Portugal’s Do Dragao stadium, which was played in Porto.
-UEFA stresses that there will be more information “shortly” regarding this requirement, and reiterates the use of a facemask, which is still compulsory throughout Spain. “You can take it off while sitting down to eat or drink. We recommend that you carry spare masks. We will soon share more information about the specific types of masks that must be worn at the Cartuja stadium in Seville,” so it is not ruled out that only fans wearing FFP2 masks will be allowed to enter the stadium for the time being.
-“If you are exempt from wearing a mask for medical reasons, you will not have to wear it in the stadium. You must be in possession of a medical certificate proving your exemption. Please be prepared to show this at the entrance and also to security personnel at the stadium when necessary,” UEFA clarified. Source, Spanish:
