SPAIN

New noise radars will be installed on Spain’s roads soon:
There are already fines given out in Spain for excess noise, known as ‘noise pollution’, but this Autumn you can expect a whole new headache, as noise radars start to be installed on the roads and streets of Spain, that measure the decibels emitted by your vehicle as it drives along, and it is predicted that by 2022, these radars could be in place, and ready to fine drivers whose vehicles exceed the permitted level of noise. Facua denounces the large electricity companies for irregularities in the information of the new bills: Facua-Consumidores en Acción has denounced the leading marketers of the Endesa, Iberdrola and Naturgy groups before the National Markets and Competition Commission (CNMC) for “irregularities” in the information they provide in their new invoices.
In a statement, the association considers that the companies violate the requirements established in the resolution of April 28 of the General Directorate of Energy Policy and Mines, by not showing consumption, identifying each hourly period with colors as a traffic light as established by the normative, “thus fomenting the confusion of the users”. ANDALUCIA

Strange Bedfellows?- Right wing conservative VOX party pledges to block socialist sponsored attempt at Covid passport requirements for nightlife: {Translation}
-Francisco Ocaña, MP and secretary general of the VOX Parliamentary Group in Andalusia, has criticised the imposition of the Covid passport by the Government of the Junta de Andalucía to gain access to the inside of nightlife venues in Andalusia. For Francisco Ocaña, this imposition “is another sign that Juanma Moreno is increasingly closer to the policies of Pedro Sánchez’s PSOE”. “This decision is a direct attack on the rights of Andalusians and only serves to grant arbitrary powers to the administrations”.
-“Why does Juanma Moreno insist on imitating Pedro Sánchez?”, asked the MP from Granada. “In VOX we are not going to allow more violations, discrimination or violations of the fundamental rights and freedoms of Andalusians”.
-Francisco Ocaña also came out in defence of the hotel and nightlife sector. “We are not going to allow Juanma Moreno to sink them. These are two sectors that in recent months have already suffered the disastrous restrictions imposed by the Junta de Andalucía”.
-The VOX deputy has stated categorically that “Juanma Moreno is wrong”. “The Covid passport is a savagery and from VOX we reject it outright. We are the only party that has been demanding the need not to discriminate against unvaccinated citizens”.
-“We say it loud and clear; if the Government of the Junta de Andalucía does not rectify the situation, VOX will go to court to put an end to this new violation of the rights of Andalusians”, concluded Ocaña. MALAGA

The Nerja Flea Market (Rastro de Nerja) and the We Love Market (Mercado de Artesania) are temporarily suspended: {Translation, summary}
-Nerja’s councillor for commerce, Javier López, says that “once the health situation changes and circumstances permit, these markets will resume their activity”.
-López reports that the Nerja Flea Market, managed by the local Lions Club, and the craft market We Love Nerja Market, which is held periodically in Plaza de España, have temporarily suspended their activities as a preventive measure in the face of the spread of the coronavirus.-
The councillor also clarified that “once the health situation changes and the circumstances allow it, these markets will resume their activity”. Source, Spanish: https://www.axarquiaplus.es/se-suspenden-temporalmente-el-rastro-de-nerja-y-el-mercado-de-artesania-we-love-market/

Marbella and Estepona out of the curfew in the early hours of Saturday: {Translation, summary}
The curfew currently in force in Marbella and Estepona will end in the early hours of Saturday morning, a week after the measure was ratified by the High Court of Justice of Andalusia (TSJA). The Regional Ministry of Health has decided this Wednesday not to renew the time restriction in these two municipalities after both have lowered their Covid incidence rate to below 1,000 cases per 100,000 inhabitants, the threshold established by the Junta for the implementation of this measure. They are, according to the latest figures, at 900 and 955 cases, respectively. Source, Spanish: https://www.malagahoy.es/malaga/Marbella-Estepona-salen-toque-queda-sabado_0_1598541530.html

Moped Inspection- Returning to Nerja, the mobile inspection unit of ITV for mopeds on 11 and 12 August: {Translation}
-The Nerja Councillor for Safety and Transport, Francisco Arce, informs that the mobile ITV unit for mopeds will be in Nerja on 11th August, at the market square at the end of Calle Cisne, from 7.15am to 1.45pm, and the following day, 12th August, from 7.15am to 11.45am. The appointment must be attended wearing a mask without a valve and respecting the health measures against the coronavirus at all times.
-Arce reminds us that “all those interested in having their mopeds serviced must make an appointment, which can be requested via the website http://www.itvcita.com or by telephone on 959 999 999”. He also explained that payment must be made by bank card or letter of payment, and that they must be in possession of a valid driving licence, technical inspection card and proof of insurance.
-Mopeds are obliged to undergo their first MOT three years after the date of initial registration, and subsequent MOTs every two years. In this sense, to improve road safety and protect the environment, the Andalusian Regional Government’s Department of Finance and European Funding has mobile ITVs in service, which provide greater convenience to residents who have these vehicles and avoid having to travel to other places for inspections. DoctorLaptop’s Tips #92- How to check if your Windows Operating System is Healthy:
There are several situations where you may want check if your Windows system is intact and healthy. These are indicators of system corruption:
-Your antivirus found and removed malware.
-You tried to install, or uninstall, an app, program or update and there was an error in the process.
-Your laptop battery died while installing, uninstalling or updating software.
-Your computer unexpectedly shut itself down.
-The computer is slow to respond to mouse or keyboard inputs.
-You get cryptic popup error messages, or BSODs (Blue Screen of Death).
-It takes longer to startup than it used to.
-Other unexplained odd behavior.
Here is how to run the Windows System Integrity Scan. This will scan your Windows system to make sure all the operating system files are intact. If it finds errors it will automatically attempt to correct them. When it finishes it will show a summary report of what it found, and if it made any repairs. This works on all current versions of Windows.
-Open a command line window with Administrator privileges (type CMD in the searchbox, it will appear at the top of a list, right click it and choose to run as administrator). A new command line window will open.
-Enter this command “sfc/scannow” without quote marks. Click ENTER. If it asks permission to proceed, accept that.
-The scan can take 10mins on a healthy system, to an hour or more if it has to make repairs. When it is finished you will see one of three messages. If it says “No Problems Found”, or, “Problems Fixed” (see pic) then it is done and you can close the command box and restart. If it shows a different message, “Errors were found that could not be repaired”, repeat the process. If you continue to get this message, your system needs more advanced repairs or possibly a new installation of Windows. Immediately backup your important data onto an external memory device if you have not done so recently, while the system is still working. Then call DoctorLaptop to schedule an exam of the patient, 675 993 069, after 11am.

WhatsApp “View Once” disappearing photo/videos function lands on Samsung phones: View Once photos and videos have now been rolled out for all WhatsApp users. They can use it to send photos and videos that will automatically disappear from the chat after they have been opened.
– It’s a great privacy feature to secure sensitive information like a Wi-Fi password, for example, or photos or videos that you want the recipient to see only once. To use this feature, just tap on the “1” button on the left of the send button when sending a photo or video in a chat.
– All media sent through the WhatsApp View Once feature is secured with end-to-end encryption. This means that WhatsApp can’t see what’s being shared.
– The recipient will see it’s a disappearing photo when they receive it and it will be deleted automatically after they have seen it. There’s obviously nothing stopping them from taking a screenshot or recording their phone with another device, but that’s a whole other discussion.
