What’s On

Tell them you saw it on DigameXtra! Tell your favourite establishments to post on DigameXtra to get next-day publicity!

Bands & Acts: Please submit your gig promos. Your music is your business, you need to get as much exposure as possible, don’t rely on venues to promote you! Most FB posts by venues only have a few likes, if any at all, so obviously are not reaching many people. DigameXtra sends out over 4300 email issues everyday to subscribers, and the website gets another 800 visits per day. That is way better exposure than you are getting in any FB posts (which has been offline most of Monday)!!! Entertainers get to post their shows for free as long as they are subscribed to this newsletter. What are you waiting for?

-On Monday 4 October, Andalusia recorded a total of 199 Covid-19 infections, down from 362 a week ago, and three deaths, two less than seven days ago, while the cumulative incidence continues to fall and stands at 42.7 per 100,000 inhabitants in 14 days.
-Health and Families, Jesús Aguirre, during an interview on Canal Sur Radio, picked up by Europa Press, in which he stressed that the incidence per 100,000 inhabitants at seven days stands at 16, which shows that the fifth wave is “overcome” although not the pandemic.
-The 14-day cumulative incidence remains at a low risk level with 42.7 points per 100,000 inhabitants, down 1.7 points in 48 hours and 14.5 points in a week. The 199 positives recorded over the weekend are the lowest figure in the last week
-The region recorded a decrease of 26 hospitalised by Covid-19 compared to last Saturday to a total of 285, which represents a decrease of 83 in the comparative interweekly, while patients admitted to an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) down three in the last 48 hours to 85, 19 less than those reported seven days ago.

SPAIN

Lava flow increases from the La Palma volcano as experts detect an increase in explosive activity: There is no sign, for now, that the lava spewing from the La Palma volcano in Spain’s Canary Islands will decrease anytime soon. On the contrary, volcanologists working in the Cumbre Vieja area have detected an increase in explosive activity in recent hours, and they have not ruled out the appearance of new ‘mouths’, according to a report by the Pevolca volcanic emergency plan experts. The affected area has now grown to 399 hectares, some 52.5 more than the previous day.
In addition, the group, that is in charge of managing the volcano crisis, has ordered the evacuation of the scientists and emergency service personnel working in the areas near the lava flow after the deterioration of air quality in the locality.

Energy Bills Outrage- The Eurogroup denies any responsibility, insists on supporting the energy transition despite the gas crisis:
-Some ministers like those of Spain, Nadia calviño, or France, Bruno Lemaire, presented a proposal with some ideas to try to counteract the rise in prices and in particular the Spanish representative demanded an “urgent and strong” attitude on the part of the European Commission to stop the situation.
-The Commissioner for the Economy, Paolo Gentiloni, responded that in the coming days the community executive will present a package of measures that countries can use to moderate the market without violating state aid rules. But the message that everyone, including the president of the Eurogroup, Paschal Donohoe, repeated was that it would be a mistake to blame this situation on the European policy of the Green Deal. “The energy transition is not the problem, but the solution,” Gentiloni said. Airbag safety recall for up to 300,000 Citroën and DS vehicles:
The European Commission’s Rapid Alert System for dangerous non-food products (Rapex) has reported an airbag inflator problem in several models of the Citroën and DS vehicle range manufactured between 2009 and 2017, which could affect some 300,000 vehicles.
The affected models are:
-Citroën C3 V3 manufactured between September 2009 and January 2017.
-Citroën C4 V2 and DS4 manufactured between September 2010 and February 2017.
-DS3 manufactured between October 2009 and October 2016.
-DS5 manufactured between June 2011 and August 2016.
Spain’s OCU consumer association said that it understands that the vehicle manufacturer will contact owners to have the faulty part replaced. However, the OCU aslo advises owners of these models to contact Citroën and DS customer services direct to find out if their vehicle is among those affected. A Very Bad Day For the Fakebook Empire: Services Knocked Offline, A Massive Data Hack & Customer Abuse Exposed, All In One Day!!!
See articles below. Rumours are circulating in techie forums that Fakebook, Instagram and WhatsApp are under attack from several vectors, groups of insider “white hat” hackers and disgruntled employees, who have reached their limits of accepting the abuse and monetization of social media users. Of course, FB will blame one of their 3rd party service providers, citing human error as the cause of the outage, as they typically do. However, it is very unlikely a single entity took down all these different FB services simultaneously; more likely it’s a coordinated effort by several groups. While this is going on, Fakebook is also currently fighting many huge lawsuits and criminal prosecutions by gov’ts worldwide. Large fines and settlements have already been paid by Zuckerberg this year, and he is appealing many others. Fakebook will not go down without a long, drawn out battle, but it may be doomed to follow the steps of  it’s predecessor, MySpace, into digital oblivion! -Ed.

Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp hit by global outage, worst since 2008: Facebook, Instagram and WhatsApp went offline for users across the globe, the social media giant said on Monday, as it worked on restoring the services after being hit by one of its longest outages. Facebook acknowledged users were having trouble accessing its apps but did not provide any specifics about the nature of the problem or how many were affected by the outage. “We’re working to get things back to normal as quickly as possible, and we apologize for any inconvenience,” Facebook tweeted about 30 minutes after the first reports of the outage.
Facebook has experienced similar widespread outages with its suite of apps this year in March and July.
Several users using their Facebook credentials to log in to third-party apps such as Pokemon Go and Match Masters were also facing issues. Full article: https://www.reuters.com/technology/facebook-instagram-down-thousands-users-downdetectorcom-2021-10-04/

1.5 Billion Facebook Users Personal Information Posted for Sale After Hack: Personal information from roughly 1.5 billion worldwide Facebook users was allegedly put up for sale following a recent leak. A member of a known forum for hackers claimed to be in possession of the information in late September and offered to sell it in chunks to others on the forum, according to a report from Privacy Affairs. One user claimed to have gotten a quote of $5,000 for the information of 1 million users.
-The hacker allegedly in possession of the leaked information claimed that it included the following for each Facebook account: name, email address, location, gender, phone number and user ID.
-Samples shared by the user appear to have been authentic, according to Privacy Affairs. The outlet also checked the information against previous leaks and found that alleged info was a legitimately new leak, not old data being resold. Full article:

Facebook ignores damages to it’s users to increase profits- the secrets that have exposed the toxicity of the social network: The vast empire of Mark Zuckerberg– and that also includes Instagram, WhatsApp and Messenger– requested internal studies to better understand how their platforms affect the health of public debate and alter the mental stability of the millions of adolescents who use their products. The company then tried to bury those results confirming damage to users. Up to now.
Frances Haugen worked in the department of Civic Integrity, which Facebook dissolved shortly after the US presidential elections in November 2020. It was then that he chose to resign and leak those revealing documents to the press and federal authorities. Some documents confirm that the company knew and decided to ignore dangers to users. “There were constant conflicts of interest between what is good for the public and what is good for Facebook. And he always chose to optimize his own interest, to earn more money, ”the 37-year-old computer engineer explained during the early hours of Monday on ’60 minutes’, a prime-time television program. On Tuesday he will appear to testify before Congress. Full article: https://spainsnews.com/facebook-lies-to-you-the-secrets-that-have-exposed-the-toxicity-of-the-social-network/
