SPAIN
Spain introduces new Covid vaccination certificate rules for international arrivals: From 1 February, Spain will tighten the coronavirus vaccination certificate requirements for international arrivals at its airports and ports, after the order was published in the BOE Official State Gazette.
-The Travel Safe area of Spain’s official tourism website has reminded travellers, “From 1 February 2022, in order to travel to Spain with a vaccination certificate, the certificate must have been issued by the competent authorities of the country of origin at least 14 days after the date of administration of the last dose of the full course of vaccination, as long as the final dose of that course of vaccination was no more than 270 days ago. From that date, the certificate must show the administration of a booster vaccination.”
-The web page goes in to say the vaccination certificate must include, at least, the following information:
1. Name and surname of the holder
2. Dates of vaccination, indicating the date of the last dose administered
3. Type or types of vaccine administered
4. Number of doses administered / complete regimen
5. Issuing country
6. Identification of the issuing body of the vaccination certificate
-The Brits in Spain Facebook page, managed by the British Embassy staff in Madrid, has also reminded that, for anyone planning to travel to Spain, the UK’s Travel Advice has been updated accordingly – while pointing out the web page reflects the UK government’s understanding of current rules for people travelling on a full ‘British Citizen’ passport from the UK, for the most common types of travel, reinforcing that the authorities in Spain set and enforce entry rules. EU drug regulator OKs Pfizer COVID pill for high-risk patients: The European Union’s drug regulator on Thursday gave the green light to Pfizer Inc’s (PFE.N) antiviral COVID-19 pill for treating adults at risk of severe illness, as the region scrambles to boost its arsenal to fight the Omicron variant.
The endorsement by the European Medicines Agency (EMA) for a conditional approval, if followed as usual by the European Commission, allows EU member states to deploy the drug after the regulator gave guidance for its emergency use late last year.
Italy, Germany and Belgium are among a handful of EU countries that have bought the drug, branded as Paxlovid. Full article: https://www.reuters.com/world/europe/ema-green-lights-pfizers-covid-19-pill-2022-01-27/
Italy to Ease Travel Rules for EU Citizens From February 1: The Italian Minister of Health announced on Wednesday that starting from February 1, Italy will ease its COVID-19 restrictions for all travellers from European Union countries. The Minister signed an order that states that all visitors from the EU would be permitted entry to the country by only presenting a Green Pass. The Green Pass is a document that proves whether a person has been vaccinated, recovered, or tested negative recently. This means that all EU citizens who present one of the above-mentioned certificates will soon be able to enter Italy without having to follow additional entry rules. ANDROID SCAM ALERT- Widespread Malware Campaigns Targeting Android Devices: The new wave of attacks is said to have been most active in Australia, Germany, Poland, Spain, Austria, and Italy, among others, with attacks spreading to newer countries like Romania, the Netherlands, and Thailand starting mid-January.
FluBot (aka Cabassous) campaigns use “smishing” as the primary delivery method to target potential victims, wherein users receive an SMS message with the question “Is this you in this video?” and are tricked into clicking a link that installs the malware. EU declares Spain forcing residents to declare assets abroad is “contrary to EU law”: January 26, The Court of Justice of the European Union declared it “contrary to EU law” for Spanish legislation to force residents to declare assets and rights abroad through the so-called ‘model 720.’ The Court of Justice of the European Union has now considered that the sanctions and fines it imposes are “disproportionate” and undermine the free movement of capital in the European Union. It remains to be seen how Spain will respond. Full article: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2022/01/27/just-in-eu-declares-it-illegal-for-spain-to-force-residents-to-declare-assets-abroad/

Cancel Culture Fail- Spotify to Remove Neil Young’s Music After He Objects to Joe Rogan’s Podcasts (the most popular podcast in the world): {DigameXtra} Spotify is in the process of removing proud lefty Neil Young’s catalog of music from its service after the artist published – then took down – an open letter with an ultimatum- Deal with what Young considers to be “vaccine misinformation” coming from Joe Rogan’s podcast, or lose Young’s music (which reportedly provides 60% of Young’s annual income). The one piece of evidence Young stated in his letter, to support his effort to “cancel” Rogan, had been proven to be fraudulent weeks before, that’s probably the reason Young took the letter down from his site soon after posting it.
Two days after the letter was published, Spotify made their decision, and is now in the process of removing Young’s music from the streaming service, a Spotify spokesperson told The Hollywood Reporter. Sorry Neil, you should have just faded away with the money. Now we’ll have to suffer thru more rusty, burnt out “farewell tours” since your retirement income just got cancelled.
