Pre-planning your funeral is a thoughtful and responsible way to show you care about your family.
Funerals are no easy task. There are numerous considerations to factor in, including logistics, food and drink, casket purchase and burial grounds. A loved one’s death brings immense emotional strain to any family, and the question of financing and arrangements only exacerbates the stress.

Golden Leaves Funeral Plans aims to support grieving families during these tumultuous times. Since our inception in 1984, we have partnered with a widespread network of funeral directors across the UK and Europe.
Purchasing a funeral plan with Golden Leaves enables you to plan, design and pay for your funeral services in advance.

Halting Erosion Using Vetiver Grass from Vetiver Spain:
Vetiver Grass is a fast growing non-invasive clumping grass that grows to 2 metres in height. It has a root system that grows to 3-4 metres deep and they are very strong.
The National Geographic Magazine has called them “Roots of Steel”.
Once Vetiver is established it is drought resistant.
We are located in Sayalonga and we can plant all year round but February and March are the best months to plant Vetiver. Vetiver loves the heat of a long summer to get established.
Decomposing Vetiver used as a mulch, improves soil quality, keeps the weeds down and the insects away as it is a natural insect repellent. It is in the same family as Lemon Grass, which we also carry.
Vetiver also is a nutritious and replenishable animal feed. Horses, cattle, and pigs love it.
We use Vetiver along driveways and sidewalks. It also makes a great and inexpensive Ornamental hedge.

In a speech in Congress, Echenique accuses the electricity companies of being “a mafia oligopoly”: The parliamentary spokesman for United We Can, Paul Echenique, described the electricity companies as a “mafia oligopoly” this afternoon, since “Galán has been accused of hiring former commissioner Villareo for spying on his rivals, several companies have been fined by the CNMC for modifying prices, they have emptied the reservoirs and they have threatened to shut down nuclear power plants. Covid Scotland- What did Nicola Sturgeon say today? When Covid rules on face masks and vaccine passports will end?:
From February 28, staff at venues previously determined to be high risk settings for the spread of Covid will no longer be legally required to check check whether attendees have been fully vaccinated or tested negative for entry.
Face masks will no longer be legally required to be worn in indoor public settings such as hospitality, health care settings and public transport from Monday March 21, instead changing to guidance next month.
The end to face mask rules in Scotland on March 21 will also be joined by the lifting of legal requirements on businesses, service providers and places of worship to heed Scottish Government Covid guidance and collect and retain customer contact details for contact tracing purposes. Ukraine crisis- Putin gets OK to use force outside Russia: Russian lawmakers on Tuesday authorized President Vladimir Putin to use military force outside the country — a move that could presage a broader attack on Ukraine after the U.S. said an invasion was already underway there.
Several European leaders said Russian troops rolled into rebel-held areas in eastern Ukraine after Putin recognized their independence. But it was unclear how large the deployment was, and Ukraine and its Western allies have long said Russian troops were fighting in the region, allegations that Moscow always denied.
Members of Russia’s upper house, the Federation Council, voted unanimously to allow Putin to use military force outside the country — effectively formalizing a Russian military deployment to the rebel regions, where an eight-year conflict has killed nearly 14,000 people.

Alexander Zverev wins Mexican Open match in latest-ever ATP finish: Defending champion Alexander Zverev outlasted Jenson Brooksby 3-6, 7-6 (10), 6-2 at the Mexican Open in a first-round match that ended at 4:55 a.m. – the latest-ever finish to an ATP match.
Tuesday morning’s finish broke the record set at the 2008 Australian Open, when Lleyton Hewitt defeated Marcos Baghdatis in a match that ended at 4:34 a.m.
“Right now, I’m just happy to have won,” the third-ranked Zverev said. “I don’t know how Jenson feels. Must be difficult but happy to be a part of history. It was an incredible battle.”
Zverev’s victory in 3 hours, 22 minutes also set a record for the longest match in the 29-year-old history of the hard-court outdoor tournament in Acapulco, a popular beach resort. Full article: https://www.sportsnet.ca/tennis/article/alexander-zverev-wins-mexican-open-latest-ever-atp-finish/

Procol Harum Frontman Gary Brooker Dead at 76: The singer-songwriter and pianist co-wrote and sang the band’s 1967 classic “A Whiter Shade of Pale”. Procol Harum broke up in 1977, after which Brooker launched a solo career and began touring and recording with his longtime buddy Eric Clapton. His work can be heard on Clapton’s 1981 LP Another Ticket. He also played piano on George Harrison’s “All Things Must Pass” and had a memorable appearance in the 1996 film version of Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Evita as Argentine labor lawyer Juan Atilio Bramuglia.
Brooker grew up in London and formed the Paramounts with guitarist Robin Trower when he was just 17. They gained a large following on the London club scene and even shared bills with the Rolling Stones on several occasions; but the group found little success with their studio recordings outside of a 1964 cover of “Poison Ivy” that became a minor hit in England.
