Municipal Office: Does anyone know whether the office in Nerja, where Municipal taxes and payments are made, is open. I need to change my Direct Debit payment details for my apartment and I have emailed and telephoned without any response. Please be careful about believing crisis info posts on Fakebook, Social Media and even mainline news sources: There are tons of hoaxes circulating. If there is no verifiable source provided with the info, while it may contain some degree of truth (as do all good lies) you should always have a healthy degree of scepticism. -Ed.
Getting a doctor’s appointment this summer has become a real ordeal: Health centres across Malaga province are overwhelmed by the coronavirus situation and it can take up to 14 days to speak to your doctor on the phone. There are long queues of patients waiting to see their doctor in cases where the appointment cannot be put off. It is impossible to ring some health centres because the phones are constantly engaged, and those who try to make an appointment through the Salud Responde app are often given the message that “there are no appointments available at your health centre for the next 14 days”.

Trials for Covid-19 vaccine which was due to arrive in Spain by December are suspended: The third phase of clinical trials for the so-called ‘Oxford vaccine’ against Covid-19, developed by AstraZeneca and Oxford University, have been suspended while an independent committee investigates a suspected adverse reaction in one of the participants. One volunteer in the trial in the UK has suffered an inflammation of the spine – transverse myelitis – which is often caused by viral infections. Germany announces more focused travel warnings: The German recommendation against all but essential travel to some 160 countries due to the risk of Covid-19 infection will be lifted on September 30, government spokesperson Martina Fiez announced on Wednesday.

How Secure Is Cryptocurrency (BitCoin, etc)?: European cryptocurrency exchange Eterbase this week disclosed a massive breach of its network by an unknown group of hackers who stole cryptocurrencies worth 5.4 million dollars.
On Monday night, malicious threat actors managed to raid six Eterbase’s hot wallets for Bitcoin, Ethereum, XRP, Tezos, Algorand, and TRON and transferred the funds into their wallets managed at six rival crypto exchanges, Eterbase reported on its Telegram channel on Tuesday.
