Vetiver Spain in Sayalonga is now fully open!
We have started to receive clients but by appointment only. It is wonderful to finally be able to have visitors! We are of course following the legal guidelines regarding masks and social distancing.
The summer is a great time to plant Vetiver as this plant is indigenous to India. Vetiver loves the heat of summer to grow. Vetiver is often used as a wind barrier in the fall and winter months. Vetiver is the best plant to stabilise erosion prone locations before the first fall rains come. We have plenty of plants in stock for either pickup or delivery via the Spanish Correos.
It is always a great way to spend a day in the garden.
We also have Moringa seeds, Lemon Grass, Moringa seedlings and now our new product, Organic Moringa Powder. If you do not know the medicinal powers of Moringa you can check it out here. https://www.vetiverspain.org/moringa-oleifera-.html
This month we have some specials for both pickup and shipments.

Malaga doctors threaten protest action if calls for “urgent change” ignored: “It is essential to do it now; there is no more time,” they stress.
Unless the administration led by Juanma Moreno responds to their demands they will pick up on the protests “at the same point we left them with the previous government,” the platform warns.
According to the Basta Ya Malaga medical advocate platform, the Junta de Andalucia has “abandoned” medical centre professionals “to their luck”, and therefore the population they care for.
What the platform wants to see is change to “a health care system which is insufficiently funded and subjected to intolerable pressure due to the pandemic and by bad management, mainly by the Health Assistance Directorate General.” Full story: https://www.euroweeklynews.com/2020/09/15/malaga-doctors-threaten-protest-action-if-calls-for-urgent-change-ignored/

Spain’s Minimum Living Income Scheme Updated: The Ministry of Inclusion, Social Security and Migrations is preparing some “Minor regulatory adjustments,” with which it will extend the deadline to receive a response to the requests for the Minimum Vital Income (IMV), which would begin to expire from this Tuesday due to administrative silence. The objective is that none of the presented ones expire and “speed up the procedures” in the face of the high number of files.
So far, they have received more than 900,000 applications, of which 330,000 have been processed and there are already 85,000 families (270,000 people, half children) who receive it.
According to the Royal Decree that approves this aid, if within three months from the entry of the file, the applicant has not received a response, “the application shall be deemed to have been denied due to administrative silence.” Specifically, one of these changes will consist of extending the deadline to receive the response to the request for the Minimum Vital Income, establishing a new enough period so that none of those already presented does not “expire.” Full story: https://spainsnews.com/inclusion-will-extend-the-response-time-to-requests-for-the-minimum-living-income/

Egypt cuts highways across pyramids plateau, alarming conservationists: Critics say they could cause irrevocable damage to one of the world’s most important heritage sites. Authorities say they will be built with care and improve transport links, connecting new urban developments and bypassing central Cairo’s congestion.
“The roads are very, very important for development, for Egyptians, for inside Egypt,” said Mostafa al-Waziri, secretary-general of Egypt’s Supreme Council of Antiquities. “Know that we take good care of our antiquities sites everywhere in Egypt.”
Some Egyptologists and conservationists say the highways will disrupt the integrity of the pyramids plateau, pave over unexplored archaeological sites, generate pollution that could corrode monuments, produce litter and expose closed areas packed with hidden archaeological treasures to looting. CNN Fake News Called Out- Alan Dershowitz Files $300 Million Lawsuit Against CNN for Portraying Him as an ‘Intellectual Who Had Lost His Mind’: Harvard Law professor emeritus Alan Dershowitz on Tuesday filed a lawsuit against CNN, claiming the cable news network, together with their hosts and panelists, intentionally created a false narrative about what the famed criminal defense attorney argued while defending the president during impeachment proceedings earlier this year.
“In fact, no panel guest would have even considered embarrassing himself or herself on national television with their false conclusions had the video clip properly included the part where Professor Dershowitz unequivocally and unambiguously stated that an illegal act would prevent a quid pro quo from being lawful,” the lawsuit stated. “The phrase that included the word ‘illegal’ was an essential part of his argument, and that is precisely why CNN decided to omit it. It is evident that the decision to omit the portion in question was no accident or simple negligence on the part of CNN.”

The Spanish government has a hotline to answer all queries from Brits living in Spain about the implications of Brexit, in English. Callers can ring 060 when in Spain or +34 902 887060 if calling from abroad and an automated system will offer the choice of either Spanish or English.
You will then be offered a choice of information on the different issues.
