Sixteen new Covid-related deaths reported in Andalucía in 24 hours, three in a Malaga care home: Some 915 new cases were confirmed on Wednesday in the region, 306 of them in Malaga province. Figures released on Wednesday show 16 new deaths in the region of Andalucía in the last 24 hours, six fewer than Tuesday’s figure which was the highest since the end of lockdown.
Of the 16 new Covid-related deaths in region recorded on Wednesday, six were the province of Cadiz, three each in Seville and Malaga, two in Cordoba and one each in Jaén and Almeria.
All three deaths reported in Malaga province were residents in the Vitalia care home in the Teatinos district of the city. Full story:

Lockdown confusion in Madrid, as regional government denies health chief’s announcement of new lockdowns: Sources close to the premier denied that any decisions have been made yet regarding stricter coronavirus measures in Madrid, directly contradicting statements made earlier in the day by Antonio Zapatero.
Since the end of the state of alarm implemented by the Spanish central government in March, the country’s regional governments have been in charge of the measures aimed at controlling the virus. The Madrid regional government – which is governed by the PP and center-right Ciudadanos (Citizens), with the support of far-right Vox – has been widely criticized for inaction both with regard to preparing the reopening of schools and for failure to prevent the region from once again becoming the epicenter of the ongoing coronavirus health crisis.
Current coronavirus restrictions in Madrid limit meetings in public and private to 10 people if they do not live together. Capacity at religious sites, cemeteries and funeral homes is at 60% of the usual level, as are weddings, baptisms and communions. Occupation of counters in bars is limited to 50% of capacity, while chairs in restaurants and other establishments must be 1.5 meters apart. Panther Sighting Confirmed? : Proof of a black panther roaming wild in Granada has come to light as a cyclist has managed to photograph the animal clearly and shared the image. (However, I can’t find that picture anywhere.-Ed.)
Now even the most incredulous residents of the town of Ventas de Huelma are worried. The authorities have warned that due to the speed of the animal, which is very elusive, the black panther can constantly change its location and have asked residents to avoid going out into the fields or wooded areas until the Civil Guard manages to capture it.

the Town Hall has spread a message confirming several sightings including that a resident spotted the animal this Tuesday, September 15, at approximately 2pm, “just 20 metres from his vehicle in the vicinity of the Cortijo de Noniles, located between Acula and Chimeneas.”
They posted this info also: “We report that on the afternoon of Sunday, a member of Civil Protection who was doing tracking work to find the Panther that is in the vicinity of Ventas de Huelma, claimed to have seen her on the road to Agrón. It is an animal with great mobility and can constantly change places. That is why we ask that your guard not be lowered and that we remain alert, in case of seeing the animal, call 112. From Seprona they tell us that they continue with the search device.
“Seprona informs us that they are already searching the area in search of the Panther, with a helicopter equipped with a thermal camera and several patrols on the ground with another thermal camera.
