Recommendations & Requests
The new 2.0TD Electricity tariff: The new tariff is now in operation (from 1 June), and has been launched in Summer. Endesa have stated this will apply “for both Summer and Winter”, which presumably means, for example, the cheap slot of 00:00 – 08:00 will remain the same, irrespective of the season.
This does mean that it’s up to consumers to shift their time-switches each time we change from Summer to Winter, in order for appliances to remain completely within the low-cost slot.
One way around this is to avoid programming your appliances into the first hour of the 00:00 – 08:00 slot, i.e. use 01:00 to 08:00 for energy-hungry devices like pool pumps, washing machines, dishwashers and water heating.
This, unsurprisingly, hasn’t been part of Endesa’s sparse advice.
Thanks, Best regards, Stevie / Chris Gregory, Sayalonga

Recommendation: I have been delighted with the service of one of your sponsors, Warren at CarCleanMalaga.
Having failed the ITV for our camper van because of faded headlights, I noted the service for cleaning headlight covers, as part of the regular advert for CarCleanMalaga on DigameXtra.
Warren did a great job, and we passed the subsequent ITV. Accordingly, I asked Warren if he could do a valet and major paint job on the van, and once again, he did a tremendous job for a good price, also rectifying problems with window seals around the van. We were delighted, and I would enthusiastically recommend his services to others.
Thanks, Bill Alexander, mabilica AT btinternet D0T com (CarCleanMalaga’s contact details can be found everyday in the Sponsors Section of DigameXtra.)

Thirty-two municipalities in Málaga are free of Covid in the past 14 days and 19, at extreme risk: {Translation} Updated: 11 June, 2021 – 07:15
-There are 32 municipalities in Malaga without Covid cases in the last 14 days. Among them, Atajate, which remains the only one in the province that has not registered any positive cases in the entire pandemic. On the other side of the scale are those at extreme risk of the spread of the pathogen, which are 19 in total, according to data from the Junta on Thursday 10 June.
-Most of the localities that have not reported Covid infection in the last two weeks are small towns in the Serrania and Axarquia. On the other hand, in the Costa del Sol Health District – where large urban conglomerates are concentrated – there is no municipality with zero cases. On the other hand, none of them are at extreme risk.
-Opposite the towns without Covid are those that are at extreme risk because they exceed 250 cases per 100,000 inhabitants. In total, there are 19 in this category. These are, according to the figures of the Consejería de Salud y Familias, Alfarnatejo (274.7), Colmenar (264.0), Frigiliana (326.6), Nerja (269.6), Ríogordo (330.5), Salares (578.0), Almargen (308.2), Antequera (525.2), Campillos (286.2), Villanueva del Rosario (386.7), Arriate (441.0), Gaucín (1. 888.0), Jimera de Líbar (527.7), Jubrique (382.4), Montecorto (341.3), Álora (350.8), Alozaina (1,067.4), Cártama (377.7) and Monda (259.5). Those hospitalized for Covid fall to 90 in Malaga, the lowest figure in 10 months: {Translation} Updated: 11 June, 2021 – 13:45
-More Covid infections but fewer hospitalisations – up to a total of 90 in the province’s hospitals. This is the main conclusion drawn from the latest report released by the Ministry of Health and Families of the Andalusian Regional Government. In the last 24 hours, 274 positive PCR results have been detected in the province of Malaga. This is the highest figure since Monday, when there were 291.
-The positive note in Friday’s report refers to the number of hospitalised patients, which has fallen to 90, the lowest since the end of August. Of the total number of patients, 11 are in intensive care due to the seriousness of their condition. On the 25th of that month, 82 people were hospitalised after being infected with Covid, six of them in the ICU. Four days later, the number of hospitalisations increased and 130 patients were bedridden in one of the centres. Eleven of them, five more than just a few days earlier, were in serious condition.
-The day has left a new death. A total of 1,656 people have now lost their lives as a result of the virus. The number of people who have managed to overcome the disease since the beginning of the pandemic, in March 2020, is now 98,255, after adding another 204 recovered this last day, 70 less than the new infections counted in these 24 hours.
-As for the cumulative incidence rate, it continues to rise, although it continues to do so steadily. This Friday, with 163.6 infected per 100,000 inhabitants, it is up 2.2 points in the province compared to the previous day. With this number, it remains at high risk. This range is that in which the incidence is greater than 150 and less than or equal to 250. Until 4 June, the province was at medium level, having a rate greater than 50 and less than or equal to 150.
-For the last two weeks, the number of new infections has been increasing every day in the province of Malaga. In one day, from Wednesday to Thursday, it has barely increased by 0.4 from 161.0 to 161.4. Very little; it could be said that the rate is almost stabilised. But compared with 28 May last year, it is almost 36 points higher. Since then it has increased by a few tenths of a point every day. Then it was 125.6 and now it stands at 161.4. EU adds another rare blood condition as side effect of AstraZeneca shot:
-Europe’s drug regulator on Friday identified another very rare blood condition as a potential side effect of AstraZeneca’s (AZN.L) COVID-19 vaccine and said it was looking into cases of heart inflammation after inoculation with all coronavirus shots.
-The European Medicines Agency’s (EMA) safety committee said that capillary leak syndrome (CLS) must be added as a new side effect to labelling on AstraZeneca’s vaccine, known as Vaxzevria. People who had previously sustained the condition, where fluids leak from the smallest blood vessels causing swelling and a drop in blood pressure, should not receive the shot, the EMA added.
-Separately, the EMA said it was continuing its probe into cases of heart inflammation known as myocarditis and pericarditis, primarily following inoculation with the Pfizer/BioNTech (PFE.N), (22UAy.DE) and Moderna mRNA shots, but also after the J&J (JNJ.N) and AstraZeneca vaccines. Israel’s Health Ministry said this month it had found a likely link to the condition in young men who received the Pfizer/BioNTech shot. Full article:

Madrid brings forward second AstraZeneca shot for 60-69 group as more cases of delta variant are detected: The Madrid region announced on Friday that it would be bringing forward the administration of the second shot of the Oxford-AstraZeneca Covid-19 vaccine for the 60-69 group, given a rise in the number of cases of the so-called “delta” variant of the coronavirus that was first detected in India. According to the deputy healthcare chief, Antonio Zapatero, there is already community transmission of this more infectious strain in the region. Junta’s head expects the committee of experts to prolong the current Covid measures: The president of the Junta de Andalucía, Juanma Moreno, has said this Friday (11 June) that “the most likely thing” is that the regional government’s so-called Covid committee of experts will decide to extend the current coronavirus measures at its meeting next week.
The Territorial Committee of High Impact Public Health Alerts of Andalucía, is due to meet on Tuesday, 15 June, and Moreno said he believed the existing restrictions would be maintained in the region “because the incidence rate is still high”. Infection Increase in Nerja Forces Health Service to Carry Out Screening: The mayor of Nerja, José Alberto Armijo, informs that the Ministry of Health and Families of the Junta de Andalucia will carry out a massive screening in the municipality at the beginning of next week, a decision that has been made by the Territorial Committee of Public Health Alert High Impact due to the increase in infections. “The specific date will be announced in the next few days and the people who voluntarily submit to them will receive a notification via SMS with information on the place and time in which they will be carried out,” he stated.

The conservative majority of the Constitutional Court is preparing to overturn the previous state of alarm at the request of Vox after revising its position: {Translation, 1st paragraph only}
The majority of conservative magistrates of the Constitutional Court are preparing to impose their criteria on the state of alarm and thus overturn the measure previously imposed by the government of Pedro Sánchez to fight the coronavirus pandemic at the height of the health emergency. The decision will be adopted in the plenary session scheduled for the 22nd and responds to the appeal filed by Vox against the first state of alarm decreed by the executive of Pedro Sánchez and which imposed home confinement to fight the pandemic. The change of rapporteur, now Pedro González Trevijano, is at the origin of this turn of events which, in all likelihood, will conclude in a reproach of unconstitutionality to the state of alarm decree that will have consequences on the effects of its application, such as the fines imposed for non-compliance, legal sources explain. NASA expects its rover to collect its first soil and air samples in July for return to Earth as early as 2031. Photos: CNSA. Churches & Worship
Evangelical Church- Torre del Mar
Christians United. Evangelical meeting hall.
(Sunday worship in English language)
11:00 in Calle Dr Ros Alférez 7, Torre Del Mar 29740
Our meetings are friendly, joyful, reverent and orderly.
Our primary objective is to honour God and exalt our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, to be a house of prayer, a place of worship where God’s Word is faithfully ministered, and in so doing to be a spiritual oasis in Torre del Mar where all can feel free to exercise Christian love through their love of God, one another and our community. If you are a believer and want to worship in “Spirit and in truth” or if you are someone who is seeking to know more about the Christian faith, please come and join us.
Whether you live here in Spain or are visiting you will be welcome.
