SPAIN

Although it still needs to be voted on next Thursday- Spain’s PM Sánchez announces the end of face masks outdoors from 26 June – with conditions: Updated: 18 June 2021, 13:59
-An extraordinary Cabinet meeting on Thursday, 24 June, will (most likely) approve the modification of the ‘new normal’ law that required the mandatory use of the protection in all public spaces at all times.
-Face masks will no longer be mandatory in public spaces in Spain from Saturday, 26 June – as long as a safe distance from other people can be maintained.
-Pedro Sánchez, after several days of uncertainty and controversy with some regions reluctant to end the coronavirus protection measure, announced that on Thursday, 24 June, an extraordinary Cabinet meeting will be held “in which we are going to propose that the face mask will not be needed in public spaces from 26 June.”
-Between now and next Thursday, Spain’s Ministry of Health intends to try and convince the regions most reluctant to ease the lifting of face masks measure so that it is approved unanimously and enters into force simultaneously in the 19 regions, whatever the individual position of each.
-Catalonia, the Valencian region, Murcia, Castilla-La Mancha, Galicia, Madrid, Aragon, Balearic Islands and the Basque Country are, generally, in favour of abolishing the mandatory measure but Navarra, Extremadura, Andalucía, Cantabria and Castilla y Léon have been reluctant to support the end of the mandatory masks.
-These last regions have suggested the measure should only be eased with a cumulative incidence rate of 50 or with 50 per cent of the population vaccinated. Source: http://www.surinenglish.com/national/202106/18/spain-sanchez-announces-facemasks-20210618114715.html

Junta de Andalucía will abide by the central government’s face mask decision: Updated: 18 June 2021, 13:32
-The Andalusian Government spokesman, Elías Bendodo, has said that the Junta will abide by the decision of the Spanish PM Pedro Sánchez and will not force the use of face masks outdoors as of 26 June.
-Speaking this Friday morning, 18 June, in Churriana, the regional government spokesman accused Sánchez of “not having agreed” on the measure with the region but said he anticipates that Andalucía will be able to recommend (although not oblige) the wearing of a face mask in public in case the rate of the spread of the disease increases in the coming days. New Life Church
Whether you live in Nerja or are visiting our area, we would be delighted to welcome you to New Life Church. Our meetings are characterised by uplifting songs, relevant sermons and a modern but reverent service.
During this time of uncertainty, God’s word reminds us that the Gospel shines brightest in times of darkness. We are a Bible based Church community continuing to help people find their way to God.

El Puente Christian Fellowship – Sunday Service
El Puente Christian Fellowship is a loving, multi-national, Bible believing community of Christ, who meet each Sunday at 11 am to worship The Lord. We enjoy a time of worship with contemporary songs and traditional hymns, and a message brought to us by one of the Elders or a visiting speaker.
The church meeting hall is situated underneath Maroma Inmobiliaria Puente Don Manuel, Cruce de Periana – 29713.
Full directions and further information can be found on our Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/El-Puente-Christian-Fellowship-105285888299225/or please contact us by email on elpuentechristianfellowship@gmail.com. For those who cannot join us in person, we aim to stream Sunday services via the Facebook page (subject to a good internet connection!).
