Cómpeta Art Walk is back on September 17, 18 & 19 2021 after an 18 month break:
This will be the 12th year that this beautiful white mountain village has hosted the Art Walk, with many international artists, sculptors and craftspeople exhibiting in their own homes, galleries or in municipal buildings.
You will get the chance to talk to the exhibitors about their motivation, inspiration and creative processes in their art, and of course to purchase pieces.
All spaces are within a manageable walking distance of each other (some steep roads, this is a mountain village), and can be viewed in one day.
As there will be a 2 hour break from 2.00pm – 4.00pm why not book a table at one of the many wonderful restaurants that are scattered throughout Cómpeta, or indeed make a weekend of it and book your own accommodation.
There will be live music on Saturday night in the main square and possibly other smaller musical events throughout the weekend.
Admission is absolutely free, no need to book (only accommodation and restaurants), so don’t miss out on this fabulous event.

The ‘Impressionists’ stay at Pier One until 12 September: {Translation}
-The immersive exhibition Impressionists extends its stay in Malaga until Sunday 12 September. Cancel Culture Madness- Baby on Nevermind album cover sues Nirvana over child sexual exploitation: Spencer Elden, who appeared as a naked baby on one of rock music’s most iconic album covers – Nevermind by Nirvana – is suing the band, claiming he was sexually exploited as a child.
In a lawsuit filed in a Californian district court against numerous parties, including the surviving members of the band, Kurt Cobain’s widow Courtney Love, and the record labels that released or distributed the album in the last three decades, Elden alleges the defendants produced child pornography with the image, which features him swimming naked towards a dollar bill with his genitalia visible.
Elden, who was four months old when the image was made, says he has suffered “lifelong damages” from the 1991 album cover, including “extreme and permanent emotional distress with physical manifestations”, plus loss of education, wages, and “enjoyment of life”. An Asteroid has Been Discovered That Crosses Mercury’s Orbit:
Astronomers have spotted the fastest-ever asteroid orbiting Sun, and at times, it gets closer to the Sun than the planet Mercury.
Asteroid 2021 PH27 was discovered earlier this month, and it has the shortest orbital period of any known asteroid in the Solar System. The orbit of the approximately 1-kilometer-diameter asteroid brings it as close as 20 million kilometers (12 million miles or 0.13 au), from the Sun every 113 days.
The asteroid is so close to the Sun’s massive gravitational field, it experiences the largest general relativistic effects of any known Solar System object, the team said. At its closest point to the Sun, the object likely almost 500 degrees C (900 degrees F). That’s hot enough to melt lead.
Followup observations of this object reveals that it is on an unstable orbit, one that crosses the orbits of Mercury and Venus. This means, astronomers say, that within a few million years it will likely be destroyed in a collision with one of these planets or the Sun, or it will be ejected from its current position.
