Repair of a fault in Velez-Malaga obliges us to suspend the supply of water: {Translation} Aqualia, the company that manages the Municipal Water Service of Vélez-Málaga, informs that Tuesday 18th January, due to the execution of various maintenance works in the general supply network of the urban area of Vélez-Málaga, there may be interruptions in the water supply in different streets of the municipality.
The streets affected are: Clavel, Orquídea, Alcalde Santiago Valle, Alcalde Romero de Cruz, Alcalde Manuel Martel, Jaén, Huelva, Almería, Jerez, Linares, Loja, Verano, Invierno, Primavera and Otoño. The work will last from approximately 8:00 am to 2:30 pm.
Aqualia advises the public to ensure that no taps are left running during the hours when the supply is suspended, in order to avoid unnecessary water loss, and to avoid using electrical appliances, such as washing machines or dishwashers, in order to avoid incidents in the internal installations during the restoration of the service. Once the service has been restored, it is recommended to let the water circulate for a few minutes, to avoid the possible dragging of impurities. The rockabilly music festival was cancelled last year due to the pandemic and there was some concern as to whether the 28th edition would be staged this year, but organisers have announced the festival will go ahead, although it will adhere to any covid regulations in force at the time.

Amazon drops plan to ban Visa credit cards in UK: Amazon said on Monday it would not stop accepting UK-issued Visa Inc. credit cards on its British website later this month as it had proposed, adding that it was working with Visa to resolve a dispute over payment fees.

The authorities revealed that since January 15, the rules for access to all kinds of services, including restaurants, museums, theatres, sports activities, and accommodation facilities, among others, will be tightened.
The French authorities disclosed that everyone over the age of 18 would have to receive a booster shot in order for their vaccination certificate to remain valid.
