Monkeypox Is Getting A New Name: Though the virus is now evident in other parts of the world, monkeypox has become synonymous with African countries, which is why a new name is being considered for the condition.
The World Health Organization has said it is looking to rename the virus due to the connotations and assumptions that it is an “African disease.”
It comes after a group of scientists signed a paper stating an “urgent need for a non-discriminatory and non-stigmatizing” moniker used to identify the virus. Gas soars and nullifies the announced reduction in electricity prices: {Translation, summary}

Could Food Shortages Return? – Hauliers threaten to call more strikes in July as fuel prices in Spain soar to a new high:
– The president of the Platform in Defence of Transport, who led the strikes in March, has given the government till the end of this month to fulfil the promises it made at the time.
– Fuel prices in Spain are at a record high and hauliers are suffering the consequences. On Wednesday 15 June, petrol was on sale at 2.14 euros a litre and diesel 2.05 euros, so the discount given by the government is not having the hoped-for effect in keeping costs down, especially for this sector which took protest action back in March and paralysed the distribution of food products in some parts of the country.

MALAGA
Infoca fights new forest fire in the Serranía de Ronda: Two helicopters and four crews of specialist firefighters rushed to the scene of the blaze in the Arroyo El Cucharro area in the Genal valley municipality of Algatocín
– A new forest fire has been been declared in Algatocín in the Serranía de Ronda this Thursday afternoon (16 June) just one day after the blaze in the Sierra Bermeja, that started a week ago in the nearby village of Pujerra, was reported to be controlled, but not extinguished.
– The Junta de Andaluía’s Plan Infoca brigade initially reported, at 4.20pm, that two helicopters were despatched to the scene of the blaze in the Arroyo El Cucharro area in the Genal valley municipality of Algatocín. Four teams of firefighters on the ground were also tackling the flames.
– People in the area reported that the fire was visible from the A-373, at kilometre 68. It caught the attention of several drivers who were traveling on the road between Algatocín and Salitre.

El Puente Christian Fellowship – Sunday Service
